pastoralia
I'm going to Milwaukee to visit family July 27-31 and every car rental agency was either sold out or the prices were around $100 per day (usually $20 per day). I called to see what the deal was and an agent said it was because of the EAA Fly-in in Oshkosh which for rental car places is "bigger than Christmas."So, I went to your PRICELINE link and was accepted on my second bid for a compact car at $50 a day from Budget. I almost wish I'd gone lower but this is at least half of the prices I'd been seeing for the past week. I've never rented a car through Priceline so I hope it all works out OK and they don't give away my reserved car because someone else is paying more. Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your success! While not cheap, does seem like a very good deal vs. a conventionally booked car for this very busy timeframe.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Have a great trip. pastoralia
I do have one question...I have the car for four days and two hours (pick up on 27th at 1pm...drop off on the 31st at 3pm) yet I'm being charged for five days. Is this normal with PRICELINE? Link to comment
thereuare
It's normal with PRICELINE, HOTWIRE as well as many rental companies as well. Usually hourly rates are so high relative to the daily rate that once you hit 2+ hours the daily rate is often cheaper.
