kauaigirl
Hello!I have been bidding for nearly a week now and I'm not having any luck. I don't see any winning bids for my days on the forum, so I don't know if I'm way out of range or I need to try a different strategy (splitting nights or something like that). Here is what I would like:Dates: June 2-5, 2011Area: Mayfair/Soho, London Bridge or (last choice) WestminsterStar level: 4 or 5I've made several bids and have gone up as high as $170 for a 4 or 5 star in any of the above areas. All were rejected. I'm seeing winning bids for 4 star hotels in these areas (albeit at different time periods - May/August) for $80! The absolute maximum I can go is $200 since Priceline adds another $100+ in taxes/fees. Can someone tell me if my bids seem reasonable or if I should just forget it and try to pay less for a lower star hotel? Any bidding strategies would be most appreciated! I'm starting to panic a little as the date gets closer. Thanks!Sherri Link to comment
kauaigirl
After nearly a week of bidding, I was able to get the Grange St. Paul's Hotel for 2 June-5 June for $177/night. With Priceline fees, total was $650. The hotel looks lovely and I'm relieved to have this process completed. Very stressful! Link to comment
