Priceline Hotel: Timing Of Bid

I have found that I am more likely to get my bid on Priceline if I wait until the last possible time. Example: late afternoon or early evening for that same night. Has anyone else had this experience or is it just coincidental?

There is no "best time on the day" to bid. PRICELINE don't work that way. But you can be favored by bidding in the "last minute" for some zones. But this don't fly for all cities/zones. So it's not always good to wait with your bidding.

I tried to get a 3 star in Roanoke, VA for $50 in May as I saw someone else had received one @$50. I went to $55 but was still rejected -- any thoughts?

Rates are date specific so you can't really compare past/future wins.

I started with 1 since Priceline said that was the best deal but ended up trying all 4. I'll look for your answer under Virginia.

I'd guess for a 3* you're probably looking at ~$65-$75... maybe a little more $75-$85 for a 3.5*.

What is your maximum bid for this stay? If the above rates are acceptable, did you want to try for a 3.5* up to your limit first, then if rejected try for a 3*... OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay?

If these rates are not acceptable, what is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels?
