dahammer Posted February 16, 2011 Report Share Posted February 16, 2011 I first checked HOTWIRE and saw a 2* for $57 and thought it might be the Extended Stay America, so I had (incorrectly) bid $49 at the 2* level and was rejected. I didn't do my homework as the ESA is rated 1*. I added another zone and increased my bid to $51 and won the Fairfield Inn, an upgrade to 2.5*. Your Offer Price: $51.00 Taxes & Fees: $15.41 Total Charges: $66.41 Rack rate was $139 so I was pleased with the result. I had considered a HOTWIRE 2.5* in the Newark Airport zone for $37 and suspected this might be the Ramada (formerly Holiday Inn) but there is a $15 per day parking charge.Made my bid through the PRICELINE links on the board.
