Neither of the properties above have been identified, but a guess for the Downtown property would be the Best Western or the Hampton Inn. However, what are you looking for from this stay, as neither of these zones are typically the first choice of the average user and i think there are similarly priced, and higher rated, hotels which are more centrally located.

As well, many have been winning the 4* Algonquin for $145-$155 for rates which include yours above... i would suggest at least giving that a try first if it would work for your plans. It's not my favorite hotel in the city, but would certainly give you a more central location than either of the above as well as a higher rated hotel for less money.

Hotwire showed the following amenites:

Smoke Free Rooms

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

High-Speed Internet Access

Golf Nearby

Pretty happy with the deal, big savings vs. a booking directly at Sheraton. The hotel runs a free shuttle to Secaucus Junction from where it's only 15' by train to Penn Station.
