AaronJB
This is generally (there are exceptions, but generally) a slower time period in NYC, and prices are usually on the lower end of the range (for NYC.) However, this is still fairly far out; if you were to bid on PRICELINE, for example, I would bid up to a low "ceiling" and if unsuccessful, try again up to that "low ceiling" once a week for a few months. If it's late October/early November and you're still not successful at the ceiling, then you could raise the ceiling or look into other options. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases. crynd
Change in plans, looking at now staying in NYC from 10-14 March 2011.Can you suggest a Priceline strategy for 4* looking at CPS (first choice), MTE and ESB.Do you think it is feasable to get a price under $150 (incl taxes) per night? Thanks! AaronJB
$150 "all-inclusive" (bid + tax included) would be approximately $118.Based upon prices that I'm seeing right now, $118 for a 4* in these zones would seem somewhat unlikely (if successful it would certainly be terrific), but is worth trying and may - if nothing is going on on these dates - be possible closer to the date. That said, it's still worth trying now and you may be successful. You could try bidding on a 4* starting at $105 and heading up by $5's.As of right now, a 3.5* - especially in MTE (although keep in mind that a couple of the 3.5*'s in MTE are rather far E in MTE) seems likely for $95-115. I'd first really try for a 4* though.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
crynd
Just won the Hotel Vintage for the 20-22 March 2011 for $80 per night. Probably could've waited for a cheaper price but eager to secure some accom. Hotel gets great reviews on trip advisor and looks different to the other hotels in the area so excited to try it out.
