well i made some mistakes.. No excuse but i had Flu, i had Nightshift and i had 3 beers.. so i was kinda KO.

I got the Riviera on Hotwire. dates 10 to 14 Februari ( 44 $) not 49 ..... i did check Hotwire and Priceline retail everyday and all i saw was that prices did get higher and higher... ( Valentine's weekend ???)

So allover sudden i saw this 3 * North 44$ never saw that before on my date's.. i remember i did check the ameneties and i was thinking... this is the Stratosphere! well only tower admission is 15,99 per person so i thought OK lets do it...

well i was wrong ... instead of Stratosphere i got Riviera.. hmmmm

On the other hand it is not that bad... On retail priceline it does 97$ now! ...

Also we even dont know if we will make it to vegas on februari 10..can easily be 11 ore 12 Februari.

Also ( i told here) we are 2 guys single and we really want 2 rooms...

I did look at Hotwire and Priceline each day... ( for weeks now) and i never seen anything below 28 ( The Cortez).. and i saw prices just kept on raising up up and up..

So now i am sure that we do have a room from thursday 10 Februari and checkout monday 14... Ok i dont think its a 4 ore 5 star room but we are secured now we DO have a place we can sleep..

The search on 5 * will continue ....

I agree with you as backup having a Hotwire room isnt very smart...and maybe we will not even use the room... But supoose i dont suceed in finding a better one at least a room will be available..

I talked with my friend who i will travel with.. and we both agree to end the 22 day holliday in style.. so now i must go for the Wynn.. :)

and if i succeed? ( I Hope) even the wynn doesnt garrantee 2 queen beds .. so a (second) bedroom in the rivierra isnt that bad...if we use it it will be only for 1 of us for only to sleep ... and supoose we dont use it at all.. all i loose is 200$ .. that is not to much on a budget from Netherlands to USA for 22 days.

At least 8 nights 2 rooms at Tropicana are confirmed, then 3 nights Bright angel lodge at the Grand Canyon..

From GC still not sure were to go.. it all depends on the weather... I am thinking about 1 night Page ( antelope canyon) then Yosemite, maybe then San Francisco? but we want to keep freedom also..

So my Riviera win isnt to bad is it ?

I have 3 cats . 1 is 12 years old , one is 10 and one is 2 years. all 3 are very very important to me and the cat place were i used to bring them if i went on travels is down.. so i had to find a new place.. and i did find a good place were they can stay..

It makes me laugh also.. i try to go cheapest if possible...... and on the other hand i dont care if its 5 ore 7 ore 10 ore 15$ a night for my cats..

I did find a place!!! wasnt easy to find but it feels ok and that is 10$ a night per cat :o

If you don't check-in on 2/10, make sure you call the hotel and let them know you're delayed and/or ask if you can give them a credit card and have them check you in over the phone. If you don't call or notify the hotel they can consider you a no-show, re-sell the room, and deny you a room when you try to check-in after the arrival date of your reservation.

But How can they sell a room that is already booked and payed?

It is our choice if we use the room.... I cant imagine that on check in they say NO...

anyway ...its a good thougt that after driving around for days we can go to the rivierra and know a room is ready.

I know myself , i know my friend... driving 1000 miles is a thing we easily do :) (in ONE day!) :)

If you are scheduled to arrive on a certain day and you don't arrive on that day, the hotel may think you are not coming and then sell the room to someone else at the last minute, quite likely for full price.
