atl_libra
I'm looking to go up to New York tomorrow 11/1 or Wed 11/2 through Friday 11/5. Have read the reviews and would love to get this property. For this time of year...are the prices I have seen 72.00 - 86.00 bucks from other posters...still possible? Link to comment

yellowdog
You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE. You need to be willing to stay at any 4* or higher in the zone you're bidding at.I checked both you date combos and i would say no chance for a 4* for that price. My guess would be $200+/night. Let us know how we can help you further.Yellowdog.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.PS. Please follow-up this thread with whatever you ended up doing for the stay (even if you chose to book direct, cancelled your stay, etc) Link to comment
AaronJB
Unfortunately, given what I'm seeing on HOTWIRE, I'd agree that this would require at least $200 and possibly as much as $225-235. Additionally, I'm seeing some sites showing the Hyatt as not available for 11/1-5.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
atl_libra
Wow...lol thanks for the smack of reality. Any idea why the rates are so high for those given dates? Thought I would maybe top out at 115 if anything...lol not 200 plus. Link to comment
AaronJB
Rates for quite a bit of November and the early part of December in NYC are quite expensive due to the holiday season. Do you have any alternate options/plans or are you interested in trying for NYC/Jersey City?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases. Link to comment
atl_libra
I'm leaving out tomorrow morning...lol so I guess I need to figure something out. I guess my next option is to look for a 4* in nyc from 11-2 thru 11-5. Top of budget would be 125.00. Not picky on the zone. I see a few people have gotten the grand hyatt or La Merdian (sp?) for some reasonable rates. Link to comment
AaronJB
These dates are quite expensive in NYC. I'm not sure what's going on, but the majority of hotels in NYC are showing sold out on 11/2 and in quite a few cases, are also sold out for 11/3. A 4* in Manhattan is unlikely for these dates for $125 or less; a 3* is worth trying for $125, but unfortunately only has a very slight chance of acceptance.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. atl_libra
I know i'm pretty bad about providing updates, so wanted to make sure I closed the request out. I ended up just staying with a friend in Hoboken (sp?). Thanks for your help, hopefully next time i'll have a little bit better lead time and can find a deal. Link to comment
