Bidding for 4 nights downtown. Just like Seattle not having the luck I had hoped.

Bidding 3.5 star used all my rebids up to $82. Saw that somone got a 3.5 downtown the week before for $70, i thought that b/c it was all weeknights I could have the same success.

May have to split the trip up if there is one night that is causing the problem

I'm not sure if SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID is going to help, but if you want to give it a try, i'd first try dropping the first nite (so bidding on the last 3 nites) and then if that is rejected, try dropping the first 2 nites (so just bidding on the last 2 nites)

If you're willing to bid higher than $82 i don't think you're too far off, perhaps $90-$100 might do it, and perhaps you want to bid higher first before having to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID (depends how you feel about budget vs. convenience)

Focusing on 7/24 - 7/26 in Downtown Portland as we may spend one night between 7/24 and 7/29 either on the coast (Cannon Beach) or Willamette Valley area.

For 7/24/ - 7/26 used my rebid zones 3.5 star and up to $93 bid today with no luck. Oregons brewers festival runs 7/22 - 7/25 so I do expect prices to be high for the weekend. Although I might try a 3*

If i recall correctly from my search for your dates the other day the first nite was the most expensive, so if it works for your plans, i would try to be outside of Downtown for the 7/25 (or perhaps 7/24 and 7/25... i haven't looked at rates for 7/24 yet) Are you flexible in this regard and/or confirmed that you want to be outside of downtown for at least one of these nites?

Thanks for using the PRICELINE links on the board for your bidding.

You should try bidding again for this area as I just has a priceline win at the Marriott Downtown Waterfront for the one night for $82. I could have probably won it cheaper but I was expecting to pay higher and had started at 4* and added in two rebid zones and then downgraded to the 3.5* and won immediately at the $82. Good luck!

Cyllan,

Thanks for the post/info.

I don't think your win (for 7/22-7/23) will necessarily help the OP of this thread as rates are date specific, and searching the Marriott website for the dates in this thread reveal that the hotel is sold-out for 7/25-7/29.
