scouter
Looking to see if there is anything additional I can do. Have been bidding for 10 days now with the following strategy:Starting ESB 4* $125, add $10 and rebid zones until I hit $155. Close broswer and re-open using same strategy as above for the other zones (TS and MTE)My max bid will have to remain $155. Any advice to increase chances of winning would be appreciated. Thanks. AaronJB
Unfortunately, if your bids are not getting accepted, your only options are: try different areas, wait and try again in a couple of days (although prices could drift higher) or lower your desired star rating. Are MTW/CPS of interest? Please let us know if you have any questions.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
SMUS_Style
Personally I'd just be patient. I just got a hotel for $125, 4* MTE yesterday. My dates are about 2 weeks earlier than you... but I don't see a bit price hike on Expedia for your dates... so I'm inclined to think that if you just be patient... the prices will drop into your $150 range as you get closer to your travel date. Just an opinion from on uneducated reader... so feel free to ignore me if you like! Link to comment
scouter
Thank you. I am going to keep bidding everyday. I booked a back-up just in case. This is the first time I have had a hard time aquiring a hotel via priceline for a summer NYC trip. I am hoping the inventory opens after the holiday weekend. Link to comment
AaronJB
What hotel did you book as back-up? (Just so that we can have a comparison to the back-up in terms of suggesting future bids.) Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE, PRICELINE or Orbitz.com links. Link to comment
scouter
I booked the Hampton Inn SoHo via travelzoo for $159/night. I like the area, but would rather get a 4 star in the ESB, TS or MTE area for under $150/night if I can. Link to comment

thereuare
Congratulations on your success!A very nice and well located hotel... glad to see you persevered and landed a great deal. You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city and make for a nice, relatively inexpensive, breakfast among locals NYers.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Have a great stay.
