BobDole
Does anyone know if HHV is the only resort in the Waikiki Marina area? We'd like to stay there, but would also like to be fairly confident that this is what we are bidding on. Also, is there an additional resort fee for staying there? Lastly, is there likely to be any issue with getting a room with 2 double beds? We'll be travelling with 2 younger children so need 2 beds.I know I said lastly, but I just thought of one additional question. Any thoughts on whether to go with Hilton Hawaiian Village or Sheraton Waikiki for kids ages eight and four? Thanks. Link to comment
Counselor4444
I'd like to hear a response to this as well as I did a search and it doesn't seem like anyone has succesfully bid and received the HHV in quite sometime. Link to comment

thereuare
While the Hilton may be the only Resort rated hotel reported to the board in this zone... there could always be others not yet reported (or a previously reported hotel upgraded/downgraded to the Resort level). See the comments at the top of the Priceline Hotel List. Basically it comes down to a calculated risk that you, and your family, need to decide if it's worth taking. If the Hilton is the only hotel you're willing to accept and your vacation would be ruined if you didn't stay there... then the opaque providers are probably not the best way for you to book your stay (do note in our support page we have links to the Hilton as well as most other major hotel chains, please check for and use the links there for your hotel direct purchases)As far as occupancy, PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, which means you could receive a hotel with only one bed. It's at the hotel's discretion, and depending upon occupancy, they may not be able, or willing, to accommodate your request for a room with two beds (or there could be an additional fee involved) If this is a risk you're not willing to take, HOTWIRE may still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy... the tradeoff is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. BobDole
We ended up going with HOTWIRE and got the Sheraton Waikiki for 2 nights 8/16-8/18 for $115 plus taxes/fees. We decided we'd rather be in central Waikiki plus we could put it exactly how many people the rooms needed to sleep, so HOTWIRE made more sense than PRICELINE. We're very happy with Sheraton at this rate. Link to comment
