Yahooo! First successful Taipei bid. Yes Virginia, Priceline does really have hotels in Taipei. Location is good from what I remember, and this is really like an American 3 star hotel (unlike most European hotels). Bid of $55 for 4 star in this zone was rejected.

I hate to be a wet blanket, but AsiaRooms has this property for $53 USD (single occ) or $59 (dbl occ) including all taxes, s/c's and breakfast. Your average cost per night is $51.04 USD, so breakfast is the deal breaker here. This just reinforces my belief that PL is not great in Asia for 2*, 3* and sometimes even 4* properties, where consolidators rule. PL, however, just blows away the competition for 5*'s.

I agree 100%. 4* you better off checking consolidators,first.As far as 5*, 98% PRLN is your best Bet.

I hate to be a wet blanket too. But just noticed from this website (http://www.hoteltw.com/hotel.php?id=10828) that you can get a room at HK$370 with BF. This works out to about US$48 nett a night, which is cheaper (than PL) with taxes thrown in.

PL does not seem to work fine for TP hotels.

... but the rates at the above site (which is in a non-english language so i don't recommend visiting unless you want to download another language pack to your computer) are from March-December, so the rates may not have been available for this stay as it took place in February.
