windymulder
Amenities listed are:CasinoRestaurantPoolFitness CenterSpa ServicesChildren's Activity ProgramBusiness CenterNot much of a deal because I could have booked the hotel directly for $60 per night, but Expedia is quoting a rate of $73 per night. This hotel has received excellent reviews on Tripadvisor.com, so I am hoping for a great experience. If anyone has stayed here, I would appreciate any tips. My husband and I will be traveling with our three children. We plan on seeing the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead.Windy Link to comment
thereuare
Thank you for sharing your win.I would try for Hotwire's Double the Difference Guarantee as this complete stay can be had for $131/total thru the information in this thread: Las Vegas Coast Hotels.I don't think you eligible for the Double the Difference as the promotion above requires a MasterCard, and Hotwire would be within their right (in my opinion) to say that the above offer is part of a 'membership rate' (as are AAA, government, etc... which are excluded from the DTD guarantee). If you try let us know how it goes. You may also be interested in the following thread which i typed up for my sister a few years ago, who went to Vegas with her husband and three kids, so a lot of it is geared to children (and kids at heart :) ): Cheap and Free Things To Do in Las VegasEnjoy your stay. windymulder
Thank you so much for alerting me to this deal! I did go ahead and submit a Double the Difference request on the 13th and just received an e-mail stating that I can expect a refund of $168 within 10 days. Thanks again, thereuare for letting me know about the special. This board rocks!Windy Link to comment
thereuare
Glad this worked out for you.So i think with the DD guarantee this "ok" deal turned into an incredible one.... a lesson to others that it pays to post your bids/results :) Hope your luck is just as good in Vegas!Enjoy your stay. emmd2001
i'll be at the Orleans 3/23-3/25 (2 nights) - see ya there! Link to comment
emmd2001
I wonder if this is the same hotel that is currently showing up at $59/night from 3/23-3/25. If so, wonder if it is worth taking the chance with the DTD guarantee (currently booked directly through the Orleans at the Mastercard rate of $30/night)Any thoughts out there???? Link to comment
thereuare
Personally i wouldn't chance it, as you could get a different Double the Difference rep who denies your claim since it's technically only available to Mastercard holders (and not to the general public who are not MC holders)... part of the DTD clause is that the rate must be available to the general public.Given you're going to Vegas you may choose to gamble on the above anyway :) . If you do, make sure the zone and amenities match up exactly, and please use THIS LINK for your Hotwire purchase.Let us know what you decide to do. emmd2001
yeah - that was my thought too. Of course, double the difference would make the room free (well, $2/night) ... :) The zone and ammenities match up, but i don't think i would take the chance. You're right about the rep and possibility of them denying the DTD guarantee Link to comment
emmd2001
when you submitted the DTD request - did you specify the mastercard promo, or did you just submit it as a request based on the rate with the Promo code (and not mention mastercard)? I'm very tempted to try it - getting what appears to be the Orleans for March 23-25 (same exact amenities listed) for $59/night. after DTD would end up being a great deal! Link to comment
windymulder
I pasted this link to the form-http://coastcasinos.com/mc/I had also paid for my Hotwire reservation with a Mastercard, although I don't know if that helped.Windy Link to comment
emmd2001
i'm torn as to whether to chance it or not ... very tough call!!! Link to comment
klmrph
I think I might go for it as well. I am looking to book for March 27 thru March 31. I will let you know if I go for it also. I am out of town right now and my mastercard is at home. Link to comment
emmd2001
i decided not to chance it - i called hotwire and asked if the DTD covers American Express rates and they said no since those are not "available to the general public" so i didn't want to chance it with a mastercard rate. i'll keep my rate of $30/night for the 2 night.windymulder - see you there on the 23rd! klmrph
Well the gambler in me went for it and today I received my email from Hotwire refunding me double the difference. I booked 2 rooms, total price charged from Hotwire was $511.95, but I have a refund coming in the amount of $428. This makes the total price paid for 2 rooms for 4 nights around $83. Thanks everyone. emmd2001
If i understand the DTD correctly, it is the TOTAL hotwire rate (including taxes/fees) minus the total other rate (including taxes). At current rates, the DTD would give me 2 nights for a total of about $5. would hotwire go this low? Link to comment
thereuare
No, it's room rate to room rate. You can see the full terms at THEIR SITE. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
emmd2001
I read that, but it said that "Hotwire will issue a refund to the customer in an amount equal to two times the difference between the customer's total Hotwire rate for their stay and the lower total rate for the customer's stay identified by the customer." I guess I must be misinterpretingWith the matching amenities, is the Orleans the only 3 1/2 * in this zone? Link to comment
