  2. Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you scored BIG!!! with this one and that you're looking forward to your trip. A very nice deal and we're happy to hear that the new features of the BiddingHelper.com tool are being well received. Thank you for using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase and sharing your win, helping us keep the Chicago Hotwire Hotel List current and up-to-date. Have a great stay.
  3. Congratulations on your success! Looks like a nice deal... thank you for sharing your win with the board and helping us add the amenity set for this property to the Denver Priceline Express Hotel List. To confirm, this is showing as 4.5 star in your confirmation email, as i'm currently seeing the Westin Downtown listed as 4 stars by Priceline (if you're seeing at 4.5 star we will mark it as such, assuming that it was a recent upgrade and it is taking a little while for the new rating to be reflected on the 'retail' side of their service) Please click the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay.

  5. Thank you very much! We will take a cab especially as it will be about 2am german time when we leave the airport (Munich is 7 hours in front of Chicago) and we all will be very tired. So it`s more comfortable and I hope at about 7pm the traffic will be okay. Have a nice day, Christian
  6. Congratulations on your success! Nice to see you're happy with the win... $70 savings on a $99 purchase seems like a pretty good discount, imo. We're happy to hear you like the new feature(s) at BiddingHelper.com and it was helpful with your purchase! Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please click the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay.
  7. NicoleFnJane, Thanks for the info! AMBERW, As i'm sure you're finding out, or were already aware, historically this is one of the most expensive weekends in NYC. What are your needs from a hotel for this nite and what is your maximum budget? (per nite before fees/taxes) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  8. AWESOME! Glad to hear it went as well as you expected and you have a great time. Thanks for the follow-up!
  9. GREAT NEWS! Glad to see you resolved the issue above and received the hotel you were hoping for... we're happy to have been able to help. Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please click the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Have a great trip and fun at the parks!
  10. Thanks! Do you have to be a member to see it? I wasn’t able to find it. No, it didn’t work. I haven’t used it before so I wasn’t sure if it was because this one really doesn’t match any hotels or because it is just broken.
  11. Great, glad we could help and that you received the hotel you were hoping for! Please encourage others to stop by here for help with, and to share, their 'opaque' hotel wins. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Have a great trip and enjoy your time at the parks!

  13. Thanks for the info... a good friend has a Linux machine so i will ask him to test/investigate.
  14. 1) as previously requested, it would be appreciated if you started to share your wins/purchases with the board so that others can benefit from the information, just as you hope to benefit from those who have posted before you. To only come here to ask questions and not share your wins/experiences makes the board less useful for everyone as well as goes against the 'spirit of the community'. 2) in regards to your question above, it is industry practice for a hotel to put a 'hold' on your credit card. It is up to each hotel to determine the amount they will put on hold, and $100 is certainly within 'industry standards'. The amount put on hold has nothing to do with how you booked, the star rating of the hotel, or the amount paid... hotels indicate that this is to cover incidentals, which it is, but it is also to cover themselves in the event of any theft or damage to the room. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  15. Welcome back! This one is super easy, imo, as i would jump on this one: 5* The Strip - Northeast (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $87/nite with: Free Parking Pets Allowed Fitness Center Airport Shuttle Casino Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> The Palazzo Resort is our best guess here Excellent rate for this property and in the Caesars area that you want to be (Caesars is a HUGE property so the Palazzo/Venetian area very close to the northern end of Caesars, it's a moderate walk to the southern end of their property) Does this work for your plans? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
  16. Congratulations on your success! Great to see you scored a great deal that works out perfectly for your plans! Thank you for sharing your win with the board and helping us update the New York City Hotwire Hotel List with the new name for this property. Please click the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay... and the parade!
  17. Congratulations on your success! Glad to see it worked out well and as expected (and that you like the new BiddingHelper.com feature!)... should be a very nice stay at this well reviewed hotel. Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please click the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. The tide will continue to turn... at the beginning of every season my daughter has visions of grandeur and expects us to head to the playoffs which usually results in tears after our first loss, but i'm a bit more patient. Have a great trip and fun in London.
  18. Even through traditional booking channels, it looks like on-site availability is low and prices are high... not a good combination for 'choosing' the hotel you want at a deeply discounted price. What looks to be the Dolphin is offered for just $133/nite: 4* HOTWIRE Walt Disney World - Bonnet Creek for $133 Resort Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Spa Given how high rates are elsewhere maybe you can make this work for your needs at this price, but other than this, do you see any options (even through more traditional booking channels) that meet your needs and budget? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  19. Congratulations on your success! Nice to see you were able to get something very affordable for this nite and that this satisfies your needs while in the area. Thank you for using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase and sharing your win, helping add add this hotel and amenity set to the Indianapolis Priceline Express Hotel List. Enjoy your stay.
  20. You don't mention what it is that you're looking for in a hotel for this trip so i can't really comment how this fits your plans for this trip.. What are your plans while in the area this stay... do you prefer to be near one specific park? A resort-like setting important? A nice pool? Budget? What made you choose this offer when there are others that are higher rated and less expensive (especially when including Bonnet Creek as an option and when considering HOTWIRE too)? Are your travel plans for this date firm? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  21. Thank you for closing this thread with your decision. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  22. OK, here we go... PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, so using their service for more than double occupancy can be a bit risky (especially in NYC where rooms are notoriously small and hotels often have a high percentage of rooms with only one bed and little/no space for a roll-away bed to be brought into the room... and rooms with 2 beds often are considered an upgrade and cost more). The one exception to this would be if you can find a PRICELINE EXPRESS Del hotel that offers a 'Bed Choice' and one of those choices is a room that is designed to accommodate 4 guests. --> Unfortunately i don't currently see any PRICELINE EXPRESS hotels rated 3.5* or higher rated hotels in NYC at under $200/nite that show a Bed Choice option. HOWEVER, HOTWIRE allows you to search for up to quad occupancy and guarantees that there will be sleeping accommodations for everyone that you include in your search. However, i'm not seeing any 3.5* rated hotels for your dates for under $200/nite when searching for quad occupancy. So your options come down to: -lowering your star rating -increasing your budget -staying outside of Manhattan (at a nearby location where you can commute into the city via bus/train) Alternately, if your plans are not yet firm (ie- you have not yet purchased airline tix) and you're able to delay your trip by 1 week you should see some better pricing as Dec 15 is right on the cusp of when we tend to go from some of the highest rates of the year drop to slightly more reasonable levels.... if you could delay even further (Dec 20-24) or into January/February it is one of the slowest times of the year for NYC and you will see rates at about half of what you're seeing for your original dates above. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know your thoughts, and how flexible (if at all) you are with the dates and we'll take it from there.
  23. PRICELINE EXPRESS shows no 5 star hotels in the Aspen zone for your dates. Hotwire has: 5* HOTWIRE Snowmass for $520 Free Internet Resort Pet Friendly Slopeside Shuttle Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant ==> Viceroy Snowmass You can see hotels offered in other nearby zones and/or lower star ratings in this zone using the method i discussed in your other thread: 1) search for your travel dates at BiddingHelper.com 2) click the PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tabs 3) hover your mouse (or click on a mobile device) the blue 'FIND MATCH in HOTEL LIST' ... the best guess will be shown almost instantly (or if an instant guess can't be made, an additional click will perform more extensive research) Does the offer above (or any others that you identified thru BiddingHelper.com) work for your needs? Is $500 in your expected budget for this leg of your trip? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
  24. Least expensive 5 star in Soho-Tribeca (from HOTWIRE... PRICELINE EXPRESS shows no 5* offered in this zone for your dates): 5* HOTWIRE SoHo - Tribeca for $194 Pet Friendly Boutique Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Hi-Speed Internet ==> 11 Howard New York You can easy find the lowest price (as well as a guess as to the hotel being offered) using our Bidding Helper tool: 1) search for your travel dates at BiddingHelper.com 2) click the PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tabs 3) hover your mouse (or click on a mobile device) the blue 'FIND MATCH in HOTEL LIST' ... the best guess will be shown almost instantly (or if an instant guess can't be made, an additional click will perform more extensive research) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help.
  25. I first got an email from the executive offices offering me what you had suggested they might: cancel for full refund or keep the reservation for a 20% refund. I rejected that and told them in an email that "Your contract states that I may receive a minimum recovery of $5000 if I take this issue to arbitration and am awarded by the arbitrator an amount greater than Priceline's last written settlement offer. If I do not hear from you again within 3 days I will initiate the arbitration process." I also sent them a copy of a very formal-looking arbitration complaint that I had prepared to initiate the arbitration process. (It is sometimes helpful to be a retired attorney.) Approximately 3 days later I got a phone call in which they upped their offer. I had earlier told them I would not post the actual amount here. I will state that I initially told them I was willing to settle by keeping the existing reservation at no cost to me. The Express Deal I originally accepted was for a 3-star hotel, 1 King Bed + Sofabed - Standard Room; Empire State Building area (should have been Times Square area); $96/night Dec. 22-Dec. 26; Taxes and Fees $130.64, for a total charge of $514.64, for the Hyatt Place New York City/Times Square. I don't believe that hotel it is being offered as a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal now, but today's posted price on Priceline is $254/night for total cost of $1,307. (The posted price today for the other Hyatt Place, in the Empire State Building area is actually lower, at $196/night.) Also interesting is that Booking.com describes the Hyatt Place Times Square as being in the Hell's Kitchen area. Thanks again for your help and support. This is a great site!
  26. Congratulations on your success! Looks like a great deal and hope this works well for your plans. Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay.
  27. Thank you for sharing your results with the board. Not sure if you didn't like either of the hotels above, but each was offered for substantially less than $160, so not sure why you continued to raise your bid over the price of the ones above. Be sure to use our BiddingHelper.com for your future bidding, as it: 1) will offer a guess as to the PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE hotel being offered for 2) shows regular rate prices of hotels of the same star rating in the zone, thereby determining if the PRICELINE EXPRESS / HOTWIRE offer is a good deal or not, and makes it easy to know what your maximum bid for a hotel of this star rating in the zone should be 3) has a priceline bidding form 'ready to go' if you decide not to go with the PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE offers Hopefully once you got PRICELINE on the phone it was easy enough to have them refund the difference and that you ultimately had a fun time in NYC! Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Feel free to ask for a strategy before bidding in the future as i'm sure we could have prevented this overbid.
  28. Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and that you're pleased with the results. Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please click the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay.
