  2. Even through traditional booking channels, it looks like on-site availability is low and prices are high... not a good combination for 'choosing' the hotel you want at a deeply discounted price. What looks to be the Dolphin is offered for just $133/nite: 4* HOTWIRE Walt Disney World - Bonnet Creek for $133 Resort Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Spa Given how high rates are elsewhere maybe you can make this work for your needs at this price, but other than this, do you see any options (even through more traditional booking channels) that meet your needs and budget? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  3. With HOTWIRE there is no bidding... you pay the (discounted) price that the hotel is being offered at; it's just like PRICELINE EXPRESS (if you have used that side of Priceline's service) The 'problem' is that you can't necessarily use the HOTWIRE rate to choose your bidding amount since: 1) the HOTWIRE hotel may not have the same star rating on PRICELINE 2) the HOTWIRE hotel may not be in the same zone on PRICELINE 3) the HOTWIRE hotel may not be available through PRICELINE ... few other 'in-depth' reasons too but the three above should be enough to explain some of the challenges. So you can use the HOTWIRE price to determine a maximum bid (since any higher you might be better off just taking the HOTWIRE offer) but you can't necessarily rely on being able to undercut it by bidding. As well, you probably wouldn't want to bid on Hotwire in this situation (even if they did offer this service) since you apparently like the Mercure better than the Russel Court, and since these are both 4 star hotels that are in the same zone, there would be no way to target the Mercure while avoiding the Russel Court. However, also to add, i'm no longer seeing the Mercure offered when searching for your complete stay... although i am now seeing The Parkcity London (in the Kensington - Shepherds Bush - Westfield London zone) for $122/nite which gets good reviews should this also work for your needs. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there.
  4. Congratulations on your success! Nice to see you were able to get something very affordable for this nite and that this satisfies your needs while in the area. Thank you for using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase and sharing your win, helping add add this hotel and amenity set to the Indianapolis Priceline Express Hotel List. Enjoy your stay.

  6. You don't mention what it is that you're looking for in a hotel for this trip so i can't really comment how this fits your plans for this trip.. What are your plans while in the area this stay... do you prefer to be near one specific park? A resort-like setting important? A nice pool? Budget? What made you choose this offer when there are others that are higher rated and less expensive (especially when including Bonnet Creek as an option and when considering HOTWIRE too)? Are your travel plans for this date firm? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.

  9. OK, here we go... PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, so using their service for more than double occupancy can be a bit risky (especially in NYC where rooms are notoriously small and hotels often have a high percentage of rooms with only one bed and little/no space for a roll-away bed to be brought into the room... and rooms with 2 beds often are considered an upgrade and cost more). The one exception to this would be if you can find a PRICELINE EXPRESS Del hotel that offers a 'Bed Choice' and one of those choices is a room that is designed to accommodate 4 guests. --> Unfortunately i don't currently see any PRICELINE EXPRESS hotels rated 3.5* or higher rated hotels in NYC at under $200/nite that show a Bed Choice option. HOWEVER, HOTWIRE allows you to search for up to quad occupancy and guarantees that there will be sleeping accommodations for everyone that you include in your search. However, i'm not seeing any 3.5* rated hotels for your dates for under $200/nite when searching for quad occupancy. So your options come down to: -lowering your star rating -increasing your budget -staying outside of Manhattan (at a nearby location where you can commute into the city via bus/train) Alternately, if your plans are not yet firm (ie- you have not yet purchased airline tix) and you're able to delay your trip by 1 week you should see some better pricing as Dec 15 is right on the cusp of when we tend to go from some of the highest rates of the year drop to slightly more reasonable levels.... if you could delay even further (Dec 20-24) or into January/February it is one of the slowest times of the year for NYC and you will see rates at about half of what you're seeing for your original dates above. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know your thoughts, and how flexible (if at all) you are with the dates and we'll take it from there.
  10. PRICELINE EXPRESS shows no 5 star hotels in the Aspen zone for your dates. Hotwire has: 5* HOTWIRE Snowmass for $520 Free Internet Resort Pet Friendly Slopeside Shuttle Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant ==> Viceroy Snowmass You can see hotels offered in other nearby zones and/or lower star ratings in this zone using the method i discussed in your other thread: 1) search for your travel dates at BiddingHelper.com 2) click the PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tabs 3) hover your mouse (or click on a mobile device) the blue 'FIND MATCH in HOTEL LIST' ... the best guess will be shown almost instantly (or if an instant guess can't be made, an additional click will perform more extensive research) Does the offer above (or any others that you identified thru BiddingHelper.com) work for your needs? Is $500 in your expected budget for this leg of your trip? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
  11. Least expensive 5 star in Soho-Tribeca (from HOTWIRE... PRICELINE EXPRESS shows no 5* offered in this zone for your dates): 5* HOTWIRE SoHo - Tribeca for $194 Pet Friendly Boutique Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Hi-Speed Internet ==> 11 Howard New York You can easy find the lowest price (as well as a guess as to the hotel being offered) using our Bidding Helper tool: 1) search for your travel dates at BiddingHelper.com 2) click the PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tabs 3) hover your mouse (or click on a mobile device) the blue 'FIND MATCH in HOTEL LIST' ... the best guess will be shown almost instantly (or if an instant guess can't be made, an additional click will perform more extensive research) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. 12. I first got an email from the executive offices offering me what you had suggested they might: cancel for full refund or keep the reservation for a 20% refund. I rejected that and told them in an email that "Your contract states that I may receive a minimum recovery of $5000 if I take this issue to arbitration and am awarded by the arbitrator an amount greater than Priceline's last written settlement offer. If I do not hear from you again within 3 days I will initiate the arbitration process." I also sent them a copy of a very formal-looking arbitration complaint that I had prepared to initiate the arbitration process. (It is sometimes helpful to be a retired attorney.) Approximately 3 days later I got a phone call in which they upped their offer. I had earlier told them I would not post the actual amount here. I will state that I initially told them I was willing to settle by keeping the existing reservation at no cost to me. The Express Deal I originally accepted was for a 3-star hotel, 1 King Bed + Sofabed - Standard Room; Empire State Building area (should have been Times Square area); $96/night Dec. 22-Dec. 26; Taxes and Fees $130.64, for a total charge of $514.64, for the Hyatt Place New York City/Times Square. I don't believe that hotel it is being offered as a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal now, but today's posted price on Priceline is $254/night for total cost of $1,307. (The posted price today for the other Hyatt Place, in the Empire State Building area is actually lower, at $196/night.) Also interesting is that Booking.com describes the Hyatt Place Times Square as being in the Hell's Kitchen area. Thanks again for your help and support. This is a great site!
  13. Congratulations on your success! Looks like a great deal and hope this works well for your plans. Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay.

  15. Thank you for sharing your results with the board. Not sure if you didn't like either of the hotels above, but each was offered for substantially less than $160, so not sure why you continued to raise your bid over the price of the ones above. Be sure to use our BiddingHelper.com for your future bidding, as it: 1) will offer a guess as to the PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE hotel being offered for 2) shows regular rate prices of hotels of the same star rating in the zone, thereby determining if the PRICELINE EXPRESS / HOTWIRE offer is a good deal or not, and makes it easy to know what your maximum bid for a hotel of this star rating in the zone should be 3) has a priceline bidding form 'ready to go' if you decide not to go with the PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE offers Hopefully once you got PRICELINE on the phone it was easy enough to have them refund the difference and that you ultimately had a fun time in NYC! Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Feel free to ask for a strategy before bidding in the future as i'm sure we could have prevented this overbid.
  16. Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and that you're pleased with the results. Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please click the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay.
  17. Congratulations on your success! Nicely done! Glad to see you received a nice deal and are happy with the outcome. Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay.
  18. For starters how do any of these work for your needs: 3* Richmond West End (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $67/nite with: Free Parking Fitness Center Business Center Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> Courtyard by Marriott Richmond West 3.5* Midlothian (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $71/nite with: Free Parking Pets Allowed Fitness Center Business Center Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> Four Points by Sheraton Midlothian You an identify these, as well as most other hotels, using a new feature of our BiddingHelper.com tool. Using the BiddingHelper to start your search, then in the EASY VIEW tab or the PRICELINE EXPRESS tab, hover your mouse (or click) the 'FIND MATCH in HOTEL LIST' button and you should reveal the name of the hotel. If you decide to bid on priceline (we have set up the site BiddingForHotelRooms.com for easy access to the bidding page) how do you ensure that the hotel you will receive includes Free Parking? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. 19. You can easily identify this, as well as most other HOTWIRE and PRICELINE EXPRESS, hotels using a new feature we have added to our bidding helper tool. Search using the BiddingHelper.com tool, then in the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW or PRICELINE EXPRESS tab hover over the 'FIND MATCH in HOTEL LIST' button... if a hotel is not found further instructions are provided in order to have our systems do a 'deeper dive' and further research. For this offer: 3* HOTWIRE Mississauga for $46 Free Parking Free Internet Indoor Pool Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business ==> Courtyard by Marriott Toronto Mississauga/West would be the best guess Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
  20. Yes, I'm finding the same on HOTWIRE. Thanks again for checking.
  21. Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and that you're happy with the results... hope you're liking the new RevealHotels.com tool. Thank you for sharing your win with the board and helping us confirm this hotel for the Victoria Hotwire Hotel List. Please click the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay.
  22. Certainly plenty of time between now and your trip for something else to come up or a lower price to be found. We have just added a new 'instant ID' feature to BiddingHelper.com which should make it easy for you to keep on top of what hotels are being offered. After your BiddingHelper.com search: 1) click the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW or PRICELINE EXPRESS tab 2) hover your mouse over the 'FIND MATCH in HOTEL LIST' button (or click if on a mobile device) 3) the best guess for this hotel will be shown (or if not ID'd a button to have RevealHotels.com research the property) This new system above is not only easier to use, but it's also more extensive as it includes hotels that we have researched (and are confident in the ID) but have not yet been reported to the board. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Good luck and keep us updated on your progress or how we can be of further help.
  23. Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you scored a great deal at this property and that you're happy with the outcome. Thank you for sharing your results and using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay... and good luck in Vegas!
  24. Congrats on your success. Excellent win for this very well-reviewed Radisson! Glad you are pleased with the win and are looking forward to your stay. Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches. Enjoy your stay.
  25. The board's BiddingHelper.com tool has a new feature that can easily ID this, as well as most, HOTWIRE (or PRICELINE EXPRESS) hotels. Simply start your search with the BiddingHelper and then in the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW (or PRICELINE EXPRESS) tab hover your mouse over the 'FIND MATCH in HOTEL LIST' to instantly see the best guess. If/when a hotel is not identified a button will be displayed for more in-depth analysis from RevealHotels.com For this offer: 5* HOTWIRE North of Champs Elysées - Arc de Triomphe for $183 Free Internet Boutique Smoke Free Restaurant Business ==> best guess would be the De Vigny Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
  26. We have added this hotel to the Hotel List based upon your report above, but our new 'instant match' feature also includes hotels that may not be on the hotel list yet but have been previously researched by us, as well as other 'checks and balances' to help minimize the chances of any erroneous IDs.
  27. Glad to hear you like it! Please help spread the word about this new BiddingHelper.com feature.
  28. Unless otherwise noted, all PRICELINE EXPRESS deals are for double occupancy. You can often workaround this when a 'bed choice' is offered and one of the rooms available is designed to accommodate triple/quad occupancy. Technically your reservation is still for double occupancy, but i don't know of anyone how has yet had an issue showing up with 3/4 guests when a specific room type was purchased that is designed to accommodate the number of guests in their group. For each of the hotels above have you tried searching using our BiddingHelper.com tool and in the PRICELINE EXPRESS tab hover your mouse over the 'FIND MATCH in HOTEL LIST' button (or tab this button if on a mobile device)... the best guess for each of the hotels above should be revealed to you. However, if none of these PRICELINE EXPRESS hotels shows a 'Bed Choice' that will accommodate your family's occupancy needs, i would sooner recommend using HOTWIRE where you can search for up to quad occupancy per room, and HOTWIRE guarantees sleeping accommodations for everyone that you included in your search.... or are you willing to take the occupancy risk and hope that the hotel will assign you a room that will comfortably accommodate quad occupancy? What are your needs for this trip and what is your maximum budget (per nite before fees/taxes)? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know your thoughts regarding the occupancy issue and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.
  29. Congratulations on your success! At nearly half off of prevailing rates looks like a BIG win with some excellent savings. Hope you're happy with the results and looking forward to your trip. Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please click the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay.
