  2. Yeah, this would have been a very nice deal for the Encore. Since this thread now reflects your win for the solo nite at the Cosmopolitan, please start a NEW TOPIC for help with, or to report a win for, the remaining nites (this will enable us to use the topic title of your newly created thread to reflect whatever you end up doing for the additional nites). Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.

  4. Congratulations on your success! Hope this property works well for your plans for this nite and that you're pleased with the deal for these difficult/expensive nites. Thank you for sharing your win with the board and helping us add this amenity set to the Richmond Priceline Hotel List. Please click the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay... and good luck with your training if you happen to be running! PS- if you're not, check out the new tools built into our BiddingHelper.com tool... in the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab hover over the 'REVEAL HOTELS' button and/or in the PRICELINE EXPRESS tab hover your mouse over the HOTEL LIST button.

  6. Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and that you're happy with the outcome... we're happy to have been able to help. Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please click the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay and have a fun nite in NYC.
  7. Thanks, we have updated the Chicago Priceline Hotel List accordingly to reflect this new star rating... thanks for reporting your win and helping to make the change.
  8. This hotel charges the same for rooms with 2 Bed vs. 1 King, so it is likely that if you ask at check-in and this room type is available they will likely be willing to switch. However, based upon current rates occupancy seems to be high for this nite and having a look at the Sheraton website i don't see any 'standard' king rooms available (only King rooms are in a Suite)... so it certainly pays to ask, but keep in mind that the hotel may simply not have any king rooms available. On a positive site the 2 bed rooms i'm seeing for your dates are over $450/nite for this nite... so an excellent deal! Have a great trip!
  9. Hi MichaelEg, Yes, it's entirely possible that HOTWIRE (or even PRICELINE EXPRESS) shows a 'Room Choice' on the search results page but then no room option(s) are given during the checkout page. I'm not sure of the logistics 'behind the scenes', but we have seen this frequently. If there is a specific offer that you're looking at, or would like help with your trip (i'm very familiar with NYC), feel free to start a NEW TOPIC and we would be happy to assist you there. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  10. I don't think any of the above are necessarily going to guarantee you a city view. Finding a hotel that you want and that shows a specific room type (ie- 'city view' ) that you're hoping for is going to be a difficult feat... most hotels are not going to be that descriptive nor are they necessarily going to disclose/label their most sought after rooms at a deep discount. You may get lucky, and it does happen, but you're really holding out for the needle in the haystack. Sometimes you can upgrade to the type of room you want just by asking, or sometimes with an additional upgrade fee... but this is HIGHLY 'your mileage may vary'; so much depends upon what is available at the time you check-in, mood of the front desk clerk, hotel policy, occupancy levels, etc. etc. At check-in you could ask if a room with a view is available, and if the answer is 'no', you could then ask 'what about for an additional fee could i upgrade to a room with a view?' Such a room may not be available, or the front desk clerk may not want to go thru the keystrokes to re-assign your room, or you may be given a price for the upgrade (which you can then still try negotiating lower). Bottomline is that the opaque providers offer a deep discount in exchange for being flexible, so unless you're able to find a room that specifically offers a city view, and you would be disappointed if you end up in a standard room, you may have to 'pay up' for the room type you want at regular retail rates (at which point i will also add that our current Priceline Coupon is valid for PRICELINE EXPRESS as well as and 'retail' rates where you pay in advance. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us how you'd like to proceed or how we can be of further help.

  12. Thank you very much for your help! So we better invest the money for the cab than taking public transportation and have to change the lines with the luggage. After our stay at Chicago we rent a car at hertz. Midway would have a choiceline, but at 9.30 am it may take some time with uber or the orange line. Do you know a good hertz station in Chicago? With the reviews it's difficult as satisfied customers rarely write a review. Best wishes, Christian
  13. Welcome to BetterBidding! The short answer is that there is a flaw in your approach which may prevent you from pursuing one room from the onset: When Bidding on Priceline the star rating you choose is the minimum star rating you're willing to accept... priceline always has the ability to upgrade you to a higher rated hotel. So even if the Delano is/was the only 4.5* hotel in this zone, your bid for a 4.5 star property could be upgraded to a higher 5 star rated hotel. The longer answer is that the Delano Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay is currently rated 5 stars by Priceline. In areas where there are 4* and 5* hotels, but no 4.5* hotels... and in these areas it is believed that priceline shows NYOP bidding available at all 3 star ratings. If there is a successful 4.5* bid, it would be upgraded to a 5 star level. I say "it's believed that..." as there is in reality no way to 100% prove that there are no 4.5 star hotels in a given area since it's possible that one has just never been won or reported to the board. However, i have seen countless situations where i am fairly certain there are no 4.5 star hotels, but the zone offers 4*, 4.5*, and 5* bidding. If the above causes you to exclude bidding for only one room, you may want to consider HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS, where you may (with our help) be able to have a high degree of confidence in a hotel that is identified as the Delano and be able to save money by purchasing that way (vs. the cost of bidding for 2 rooms). What are the date(s) of your stay and what is your budget (both if able to land the Delano and/or if needing 2 rooms)? Also, when discussing your budget, please clarify if that is all-in or 'room only' so we know whether we should be considering resort fees, taxes, etc. in our research. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. PS- another priceline change you have probably noticed is that it's getting more difficult to find the NYOP bidding page as they continue to move/hide it. We have set up the following site for quick and easy access to the bidding page: BiddingForHotelRooms.com

  17. Congratulations on your success! Glad to hear the new RevealHotels.com tool was helpful to you and that the hotel you were hoping for was offered for your dates... please help spread the word about this new feature. This should prove to be super convenient given this will be a continuation of your previous nites. If you let the property know at check-in that you have a separate reservation for additional nites there is a chance you may not even need to change rooms (usually with a hotel it's not a problem, but with this being a timeshare, it will depend upon who actually owns the unit you're assigned to)s Thank you for sharing your results and using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase. Have a great trip!
  18. Didn't HOTWIRE have the $104 (previously) and $115 (now): 4* HOTWIRE Disney Springs for $115 Free Internet Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Golf Tennis Blind Accessible ==> B Resort & Spa in the Disney Springs Resort Area If you're looking for additional options that are on-site or include Disney perks i'm also seeing: Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista for $93/nite Best Western for $106/nite ... if either of these work better for your plans. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help.
  19. Welcome to BetterBIdding! Found this offer: 3.5* HOTWIRE Universal Orlando Resort for $198.73 Free Internet Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant ==> Universal's Aventura Hotel This property, as well as most other Hotwire hotels, can be easily identified with our latest development, RevealHotels.com I assume the property above works for your needs? 20. Please start by following-up your previous Seattle Priceline hotel thread with whatever you ended up doing for that trip. Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans. Thanks. For the hotel above: 4* HOTWIRE Fisherman's Wharf for $121 Pet Friendly Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible ==> Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf would be my best guess for this one You can easily identify this hotel, or just about any other Hotwire property, using our latest tool: RevealHotels.com Does this work for your needs this trip? If not, let us know more about what you're looking for and your maximum budget, and we will try to help you find something that meets your criteria. I will add that what appears to be the highly rated Argonaut Hotel is available for about $25/nite more than the listing above, and would be a BIG jump in rating/quality. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
