Once place you may want to hit with the kids when you're nearby: Economy Candy 108 Rivington St --> old time candy shop with modern day candy as well as candy from your own childhood that you likely haven't seen for many years. Lots of bulk candy and nuts too that are sold by the pound. Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase. Have a great time in NYC!

For this one: 5* South Beach - Central - Art Deco District (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $105/nite with: Pets Allowed Business Center Free Internet available Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> Kimpton Angler's Hotel is my best guess Although more the exception than the rule, it wouldn't be the first time that we have seen a hotel offered/won thru PRICELINE when other channels did not show any availability. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.

  9. The hotels above were from HOTWIRE (identified using the 'REVEAL HOTELS' button inside the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab of BiddingHelper.com) We can suggest a strategy for you to follow-up for a 5* hotel via Priceline Bidding, but given the hotels and prices above, how high would you like us to go in terms of bid price? Also, if you have started to explore bidding already you may find that they have been moving/hiding the bidding page, so we have set up the following page/site for quick and easy access (which you can bookmark now if you do a fair amount of bidding from time-to-time): Bidding for Hotel Rooms.com Let us know your maximum bid price and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow.
  10. Wildberry (https://www.yelp.com/biz/wildberry-pancakes-and-cafe-chicago-2) is a short walk away from your hotel, although it is a popular breakfast option so there may be some wait. Fancier is Beatrix (https://www.beatrixrestaurants.com/beatrix/river-north/menu/breakfast/) in River North, which also has lunch/dinner and a coffee/pastry bar (https://www.beatrixrestaurants.com/beatrix/river-north/menu/coffee-pastry-bar/). Siena Tavern (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g35805-d3879063-Reviews-Siena_Tavern-Chicago_Illinois.html) would be another dinner option, as would be Sable (https://www.yelp.com/biz/sable-kitchen-and-bar-chicago-3) and Ema (https://www.emachicago.com/menu/dinner/.) Eataly is also a lot of fun. I'm very familiar with Chicago and happy to answer any questions.
  11. Congratulations on your success! Great to see you scored an awesome deal for this nite.! Hopefully you'll be able to do just as well for the remaining nite. If you need help with the additional nite feel free to start a NEW TOPIC and we will have a look and offer our thoughts. Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay.
  12. Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and that you like the new Reveal Hotels site. Hopefully HOTWIRE will offer something for the Hotwire Coupon not working for you on the first purchase, but unfortunately they usually do not (i would push for some 'Hot Dollars' as i think that may be the best you can do, which are like a credit to use on a future purchase). It seems odd that the coupon code would work one purchase but not the other... did you get an error message when the code did not work? (we have had some instances where the code was not set-up correctly by HOTWIRE, but in these instances the code would not work at all for any users, so i have started to test the codes on the first day they are live to make sure they are working correctly, as this one worked fine on Monday morning... but if there is a scenario where the code does not work please let us know so we can replicate the same steps when testing in the future) Thank you for sharing your results and using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay... have fun in Vegas!
  13. You can user nearby cities as well to see if that shows you any local rental locations, but with HOTWIRE you can see the difference in locations under the description (some examples from a search i just did for 'Henderson, NV'... i have bolded the location for emphasis) Midsize Toyota Corolla or similar McCarran Intl. Airport(LAS) 8.9 miles from your location Economy Chevrolet Spark or similar 151 North Gibson Road 110, Henderson 3.3 miles from your location Midsize Hyundai Elantra or similar 534 S Boulder Hwy, Henderson 4.7 miles from your location Midsize Hyundai Elantra or similar 1050 W Warm Springs Rd, Henderson 4.6 miles from your location Airport rental locations are an easy target to raise taxes for airport improvements... local residents rarely need to rent from the airport so it's easy to get voter approval to add/increase taxes on rental cars at the airport.
  14. Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you received a nice, inexpensive, deal for your long weekend in the city. Thank you for sharing your results and using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay.
  15. Congratulations on your success! Nice to see you received an excellent deal at this property and that you were able to utilized the current month's Priceline Coupon code. Another example that the least expensive hotel in the area is not always necessarily the one that you will receive. Glad to hear this will work well for your plans. Thank you for using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase and sharing your win, helping us update the star rating for this property in the Calgary Priceline Express Hotel List. Enjoy your stay.
  16. Our new RevealHotels.com tool can be used to identify this (or just about any other) Hotwire property: 3.5* HOTWIRE Walt Disney World - Bonnet Creek for $82 Free Parking Complimentary Breakfast Free Internet Pet Friendly Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business ==> TownePlace Suites Orlando at Flamingo Crossings is our guess for this one Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. PS- please also update/follow-up your previous Hotwire Bonnet Creek thread with any decisions you have made or your current thoughts for that trip. Thanks.
  17. When bidding on PRICELINE there is no way to target (or avoid) a specific hotel since no information regarding the actual hotel is provided (just like how in your first post the amenities were amenities that are available at all hotels in the zone at that star rating). To have a guess as to the hotel you may receive you need to use HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS (since with each of these services the amenities shown are specific to a particular hotel being offered), but unfortunately i'm not seeing the Country Inn and Suites offered for your dates thru either HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS. However, i am seeing it offered HERE (<-- click here and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $71/nite which would seem to be a good deal if this is convenient for your conference. The Quality Inn & Suites Champaign for $64/nite (again, confirm your dates on the landing page) would be another option in the area and includes both Free Breakfast and Free Parking, but it is not as well reviewed as the Country Inn and Suites. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help.

  20. It shouldn't be an issue as long as you call/email the hotel beforehand to let them know that you will be arriving after midnite. That language is mostly there for when there is a multi-nite stay and the guest shows up to check-in mid-trip... after the first day the hotel may have already marked you as a 'no show' (and on very busy dates may have re-sold your room) However, since you have some time before your trip, i would actually take a two pronged approach: 1) call the hotel informing them of your after midnite arrival, ask them to note it in the computer so that you're not viewed as a 'no show', and get the name of the person who you spoke with 2) a week later send an email "I have an upcoming stay (provide details, including dates so the hotel can look up your reservation) and have previously called the hotel to let you know that my flight does not get in until after midnite. Can you please confirm that this is marked on my reservation so that i'm not viewed as a 'no show' and i won't have any issues when checking-in. Thank you." You could reverse the two above, but i prefer to talk with somebody first as it helps ensure that it gets done (especially when you ask for the person's name who you are speaking with) and then follow-up with an email so you have something in writing should there be any issues. If you're very concerned you could also call the hotel on the day of travel/arrival and let them know that you are on your way and due to arrive after midnite, so please don't mark you as a no-show. If you need help with this trip feel free to start a NEW TOPIC in the CALIFORNIA >> Priceline (San Francisco) section of the board and we can provide you a bidding strategy there to follow. Also, as priceline is constantly moving/hiding the 'Name Your Own Price' bidding form, you may want to bookmark BiddingForHotelRooms.com for quickest/easiest access to their bidding page. Good luck... please remember to post your win or let us know how we can be of further help.

  24. First, see if the email is coming from a 'general' email address or specifically a hotel manager or the revenue/accounting department. Before you try to negotiate you first need to decide how much you really want this specific property (and the amenities it offers... such as a kitchenette since eating out for an extended period of time can get costly) vs. 'any' hotel in the area that may be less expensive. If there are other hotels in the area that would be acceptable (ie- Residence Inn, Staybridge Suites, etc) then you have more leverage... if this is really the best hotel for your needs then you don't have as much room to negotiate. Looking at the Hyatt website they are giving you a 0% discount ... for the dates you mentioned their online rate is $179/nite as well. It doesn't look like their AAA discount applies for such an extended stay, but you can probably do better by stringing together consecutive reservations (21 days for the first reservation and then 3-7 day increments from there) and using a AAA discount (it's not a big discount but even $8/nite adds up after 30+ nites) I wouldn't expect them to take it, but i would start at $140/nite and offer to pre-pay for the first 30 days (hotels love to get revenue on the books). I would have a conversation something along the lines of 'I checked online and $179 is the same rate i can get by booking thru your website, i am expecting a discount given my 30+ nite length of my stay. If you could do it for $140/nite i would pre-pay for the first 30 nites now." If they say 'no', then give it back to them... "how much of a discount could you offer if i pre-pay for the first month now?" This is the time you begin to look at other hotels in the area that may work (i see there is also a Cambria Suites that seems to get good reviews, as well as other properties)... repeat the process with them to get your best rate. Once you have gotten everyone's best price, you can then: 1) negotiate further with your first choice of hotel to see if they will match the rate (or at least come close to it, throw in a room upgrade, etc) 2) try to shave a few more dollars off of the best rate you have been offered The above assumes that you're sure of your start date as well as your need to be there for at least 30 nites, if not, adjust your numbers/dates accordingly. One thing that may be working against you here is that the Hyatt House is an extended stay type of hotel, so a 30+ nite stay may not be such an anomaly for them (vs. say a 'regular' Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Resort, Marriott, Hilton, etc). As well, i would imagine that many of their extended stay customers are corporations who are paying for accommodations for temporary contractors or employees visiting from other locations, and they are less sensitive to price. The above is how i would play it. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
  25. Congratulations on your success! Hope this property works well for your plans and you're looking forward to your arrival. Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay and have fun in the city!

  27. What is the hotel that you're hoping for? (or is it just the price that you're attracted to?) Have you had a look at HOTWIRE? (and using Reveal Hotels to ID?) Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. EDIT TO ADD: is it this property? (i don't know if the offer will go thru or not since obviously i can't take the next step to complete the purchase): 4.5* Wailea - Makena (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $270/nite with: Business Center Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center ... Wailea Beach Resort - Marriott, Maui would be my best guess for this one
  28. Glad you found something that worked for your needs and hopefully had a great trip. Thank you for closing this thread with your decision.
