  2. Congratulations on your success! Hope you're happy with the results and this property will work well, and be convenient, for your plans in the area. We took are of this for you, but in the future there should be a GREEN button on the top right and/or bottom left of the page 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN'... this will give you a form to use to report the hotel win as well as add any details of your purchases in a reply. Once this button is used it disappears which is why you don't see it any more (as we just used it to edit the topic title to reflect your purchase). Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay.
  3. An awesome deal! Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.
  4. I did use the PRICELINE links to search for my rates. Also just checked my credit card statement and United only charged me $178 for my ticket to get to DCA from CPR. That is a lot less than the $608 I just found on their website 2 minutes ago and is cheaper than the $367 I found from Denver. I would say that I got a good deal.
  5. I took your advice today. I did one bid for $54, then added another zone and did a bid for $57. Then I used priceline express and Priceline Coupon BBJAN20 as you suggested. Priceline express cost $65, minus the 5% off coupon, for the Best Western Kirkwood Inn. I am VERY PLEASED AND EXCITED. Could you direct me to the right link to post all of this? Thanks so much for all the step by step help!
  6. Welcome to BetterBidding! I'm local to the area so feel free to ask any other questions you may have, but some thoughts/suggestions: You don't really need (or perhaps want to) stay as close as possible to Times Square as you will likely spend far less time there than you think... what you really want, imo, is a midtown hotel that is close to a subway station (and ideally with multiple subway lines at that station). This way you can easily get to Times Square as well as most other places in the city that you intend to visit. With the above noted, in addition to the Parker New York which you have found, i'm seeing the following: 4* HOTWIRE Madison Square Garden for $158 Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel ==> Stewart Hotel... used to be the Affinia Manhattan up until a few years ago at which point it was renovated and became the Stewart. Not the fanciest hotel in NYC, but recent reviews are solid, it's a bit easier on your budget, and the location is excellent (right across the street from Penn Station so multiple subway lines to get you just about anywhere you need to go) and is also walk-able to Times Square. 4.5* Midtown East (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $189/nite with: Fitness Center Airport Shuttle Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet ==> San Carlos Hotel... a bit less convenient than the one above but reviews are excellent. The location is certainly do-able, but do keep in mind you're giving up a little in terms of location for the quality of hotel. 4.5* Madison Square Garden - Convention Area (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $200/nite with: Pets Allowed Fitness Center Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet ==> Crowne Plaza HY36... another hotel with excellent reviews, around the same price as the Parker and San Carlos, so another one to consider. Fairly new hotel (about 2-3 years old) that has a great location (2 blocks from Penn Station and less than a 10 minute walk to Times Square) and as i mentioned, gets terrific reviews. 5* HOTWIRE Times Square for $179 Free internet Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired ==> InterContinental Times Square... good location if trying to be close to Times Square and want to say you were at a '5 star' hotel, but i think some of the other hotels above (Crowne Plaza HY36) offer a better value 4* HOTWIRE Midtown East for $138 Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom ==> Doubletree Metropolitan... a little to far east to be considered ideal, but still do-able. The hotel is clean but otherwise a bit tired and 'meh', but the price is pretty good if budget is your primary concern. Any of the above of interest? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know your thoughts (or how it goes if you take one of the above) and we'll take it from there.
  7. GREAT to see your persistence pay off... sometimes it's easy to give up but i'm glad to see you stuck with it and were successful! Thank you for sharing your win and experience with the board. 8. Hello, We are looking for 2 rooms in Manhattan, NY (as close to Times Square as possible, so looking at Times Square, Central Park South areas). Dates: April 22 to 25 (can't change dates) Star Rating: 4* or 4.5* City Zone: Manhattan - Times Square, Central Park South Room Rate: hopefully around $200/night per room including resort fee. Max. we can shell out is $250 including resort fee and taxes unless there is a significantly better option for $10-$20 more. Amenities: Looking for free internet Express deal on priceline gives Parker hotel for $202/night per room excluding resort fee and taxes. I was wondering if any better options are available. Thank you.
  9. Hey all I have looking been for several weeks at airfares, hotels, and hotel + air packages for a trip to Washington, D.C. this coming May and nothing really stood out, as an exceptional deal. Have been looking everywhere including, but limited to United.com, Expedia, and Priceline. Well today I decided to search the usual sites and found that the airfare had gone up by $100 or $150 depending on the flight and almost felt a little defeated. That being said I have learned to never give up and did a search at Priceline where I found a nice deal for a hotel + air package that is less then the price of the hotel by itself. Below are the details of the package I booked. Moxy by Marriott Washington, DC Downtown with airfare on United from CPR to DCA via DEN on 05/06/2020-05/11/2020 for $1365.85. While looking at Priceline I made sure that I was not selecting a Basic Economy Fare, as unlike some sites they do not offer the option upgrade to regular economy. After checking a few other travel sites I noticed that package price at over $2000. I then did a search for rates on this hotel and found many for over $1400 for my entire stay, which is more than the package I purchased. I feel that I got a great deal on what appears to be a unique hotel and I am very happy with purchase. On a side note Priceline does not offer an option for selecting a seat and I also did not notice any place to including my frequent flyer number. Despite this I was able to pull up this reservation at United.com and select my seats, as well as add my frequent flyer number (this makes it easier to pull this reservation later). Also used part of the package savings to pay for Economy Plus seat for the flights from DEN-DCA and DCA-DEN.

  11. Congratulations on your success... looks like a nice, inexpensive, deal for the nite. Nice to see you were able to figure this one out before purchase and it was the hotel you were expecting (for the future our the BiddingHelper.com's new feature in the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab can do the work for you ) Thank you for sharing your results and using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay.
  12. The forum's HOTWIRE link got me the Novotel (I could narrow it down, since they offered the "it's 1 out of these 3" plus the Tripadvisor ratings). Decent deal, indeed cheaper than the best online price. Complimentary: Free internet Amenities: Business center | Fitness center | Pet friendly | Restaurant(s) | Smoke-free rooms Accessibility: Accessible for hearing impaired | Accessible path of travel Total price including taxes was $78.65 (minus the JUSTFORYOU Hotwire Coupon)
  13. GREAT... congratulations on your success! Nice to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and that you're happy with the results. Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay and have fun at the parks!
  14. Booked the 4* offering and it was the Dolphin. Thank you for your assistance and website! 4* Walt Disney World Bonnet Creek - 7+, 700 Reviews - $223 Free Internet Available Outdoor Swimming Pool Airport Shuttle No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Fitness Center Handicapped Rooms/Facilities Spa Restaurant Free Internet Access Swimming Pool
  15. You can easily ID these hotels with the newest feature from our BiddingHelper tool... 1) search at BiddingHelper.com 2) click the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab 3) hover your mouse (or click if on mobile device) the 'FIND MATCH from HOTEL LIST' Using this method for each of the above: 4* HOTWIRE Midtown East for $162 Free internet Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center ==> Even Hotels New York Midtown East 4* HOTWIRE Midtown East for $173.03 Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Business center Internet access ==> Doubletree Metropolitan New York... although earlier on a previous search i did see the Affinia 50 offered for around this same price, so if the Doubletree or Affinia 50 are of interest, be sure to let us know before moving forward so we can see if we can get the Affinia 50 to re-appear and highlight the difference between the two hotels to ensure you get the one you're hoping for Is the Shelburne the only hotel you're willing to stay at for this trip or are you open to other options? If you're open to other hotels, let us know what you liked most about the Shelburne, and what your needs are for this trip, so we can help find something that best meets your goals. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. PLEASE remember to follow-up this thread with whatever you decide to do for this trip (even if you don't use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, book a regular rate hotel, cancel the trip, etc)
  16. Make sure to direct them to the bidding form at BiddingForHotelRooms.com if they are looking to make their own bids as it will save them the trouble you went thru trying to locate the bidding page. Sometimes you'll be offered the opportunity to bid again before 24 hours, but you can't count on this to be offered. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  17. Thanks. All 3 stars. Fenton is 3 stars, Hazelwood no greater than 2stars. So far, my rejected bids with one zone, was $33, then adding two zones, $34. Took your advice and got rejected again with one zone at $47 (I'm just that frugal) and added two zones at $51. They offered that I increase by $19; I signed off. I do understand how to bid in less than 24 hours by adding a zone. I ENJOY this. I learned this about bidding again in less than 24 hours. 9 eastern last night, my bid for $34 was rejected. At 10:39 EST, they sent an email saying I could bid again, no need to change zones or dates. So that's what I meant about bidding in less than 24 hours. Is this perk common? I'm telling my friends about this fun!
  18. Hello everyone! I'm currently looking for a 4 star hotel in Manhattan from April 13th trough April 19th. We're visiting NY for the fifth time and stayed in the Affinia Shelburne before. We would really appreciate to stay there again. I found 2 hotels on Hotwire which could probably be the Affinia Shelburne. Is there any chance to narrow down search that we could possibly win the Affinia Shelburne? Hotwire: 4-star Hotel in Midtown East area Complimentary Free internet Amenities Business centerFitness centerPet friendlyRestaurant(s)Smoke-free rooms Rating: 4,5/5 162 per night 4-star Hotel in Midtown East area Amenities Business centerFitness centerInternet accessPet friendlySmoke-free rooms Rating: 4,2/5 179 per night Your help is really appreciated, keep up the great work!
  19. In the example above you're placing TWO BIDS inside of 24 hours... that is where your re-bid zone(s) come into play, not having to wait 24 hours. However, for the St. Louis region you only have one re-bid zone, which is what enables you to place a second bid inside of 24 hours. Do you understand re-bidding and how to determine your re-bid zone? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  20. Thanks. That's very helpful. Did I see somewhere that you don't necessarily have to wait 24 hours?
  21. Not really, it doesn't have to be much lower than that... HOTWIRE Hot Rates and PRICELINE EXPRESS prices are already discounted, so you're not that likely going to see another 35% discount from the already discounted prices. A 35% (or more) discount from regular retail rates is a reasonable target, but we usually don't see priceline bidding result in an additional 35% savings from Express Deal rates. 3-4 days is not really a lot of time when you have only one re-bid zone available. You have to remember that hotel pricing, and inventory, is dynamic in that it is always changing... what if a hotel would accept $53/nite right now, but because you start unreasonably low at $41 and go up in small increments, that by the time you get to $53 the hotel is no longer available (or rates have increased beyond $53)? It's easy to play the small increment game when you have a lot of re-bid zones, or when you have a few weeks before arrival, but inside of 3 days i think you have more to lose than gain. However, it's your money and trip, so you can start as low as you'd like, although i continue to believe you'll likely need to be in the $50-$60 area to be successful. Given your bias towards waiting and small increments perhaps: Select 3* and Fenton... Bid $48, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $51 If rejected wait 24 hours and use BiddingForHotelRooms to re-access priceline (and not a link in an email they may send letting you know you're eligible to bid again): Bid $54, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $57 If the above too is rejected i'd then take the following PRICELINE EXPRESS offer along with the board 5% Priceline Coupon discount: 3* Fenton - Kirkwood (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $63/nite with: Free Parking Free Breakfast Fitness Center Casino Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> for which our best guess is the Holiday Inn Express and Suites St. Louis West Fenton Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help.
  22. Are you seeing either of these at the moment as neither are appearing for my search for your dates. Although i do get the following from HOTWIRE (which as per the message at the top of the page, as well as in my signature and in the Hotwire Coupon page) is currently offering an additional 8% off: 4* HOTWIRE Walt Disney World - Bonnet Creek for $224 Resort Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Golf nearby Spa services ==> Dolphin is our best guess for this one Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help.
  23. Would one of these be Dolphin (4*) or Swan(4.5*)? Used the Priceline Coupon link at the top of the page so I can apply the discount later. 4* Walt Disney World Bonnet Creek - 7+, 700 Reviews - $223 Free Internet Available Outdoor Swimming Pool Airport Shuttle No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Fitness Center Handicapped Rooms/Facilities Spa Restaurant Free Internet Access Swimming Pool 4.5* Walt Disney World Bonnet Creek - 8+, 400 Reviews - $234 Free Internet Available Outdoor Swimming Pool Airport Shuttle No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Fitness Center Handicapped Rooms/Facilities Spa Restaurant Free Internet Access Swimming Pool
  24. No question I am sticking to your advice only on where to click. Can't add additional zones because of trouble riding in a car. Good to know there is 1 other re-bid zone. I looked at link you sent with dates and wins and saw one 3* years ago for *41. Was offered $63 or so for express deals or hotwire, so I think has to be much lower than that. I have a lot of time to keep rebidding before 1/18 so I don't mind tiny increments. No way would I bid over $60.
  25. We will of course start lower, but i think you're most likely looking at the $50-$60 range for a 3 star hotel for these dates... what would be your maximum bid price? Also, are there any other areas that are acceptable but are not including because you think they are over your budget? With only one re-bid zone available at the 3 star level it would be helpful if there were any other areas that could be included. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know the information above and we'll take it from there.
  26. Dates are 1/18-1/20, 2020, two rooms, only want Fenton. 3* only. I do understand how to work it so venn diagrams don't overlap or whatever. Thanks a mil
  27. THis is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo helpful. They flat out lied and said it could ONLY be done on the app, then a bunch of gobledygook. Should have stuck with you. Worth your weight in gold!
