  5. It's not the only one I'd consider. We stayed at the Pinnacle Harbourfront a few years ago, which was also very convenient. We currently have an Airbnb booked in a residential neighborhood for a steal compared to the hotel prices downtown, which is fully refundable, so I think I'll just wait and see if prices go down. It is after all, early October, and not the middle of Summer. Thanks again for your help!
  6. I'm quite familiar with this area and that is absolutely a good price for Door County in the Summer. Usually, decent prices are had only around late May/early June (where it can still be cold) and October if Fall colors are lesser than usual. There's a terrific Walmart across the street from this Best Western property for snacks or other needs. Additionally, since this property is at the top end of Sturgeon Bay, a bit closer/better jumping off point to explore the rest of Door County. I'm a fan of Lautenbach's Orchard (which is a little bit South of downtown Fish Creek, https://www.orchardcountry.com/), Macreadys (Egg Harbor, https://macreadys.com/breads), Wilson's Ice Cream (https://wilsonsicecream.com/, In Ephraim) and the Farm is a fun stop that has been there since I was a kid (http://www.thefarmindoorcounty.com/farm-fun/, in Sturgeon Bay not far from your hotel - that's only about 3.4mi away.) Of course, there's Al Johnsons (http://www.aljohnsons.com/) with the goats on the roof - prepare to wait to be seated if it's a busy (or sometimes even if it's a not busy) time of year. If you are driving up from Chicago to Door County, it's really pretty straightforward. You'll take 90 downtown and then get off on i-94 and head North until you reach the North suburbs. Right after the Dundee Road exit, there is a turnoff for 94 - this will take you West to where 94 continues. If you stay on the road, it turns into 41. 94 is (usually) a bit faster but you will encounter toll booths. There are no toll booths in Wisconsin. Shortly after you pass into Wisconsin, you'll see the exit for 50. 50 is a good place to stop if you want to take a quick break. There's a Starbucks, McDonalds, the Brat Stop (a Wisconsin institution) and a Woodman's grocery (a reasonably priced/employee owned Midwestern chain that has massive stores.) Back on 94 heading North, a short distance North of the 50 exit, there's the 142 exit - on the West side of the road is Mars Cheese Castle, a popular stop devoted to selling all manner of cheese - and the building is actually made to look like a castle. Keep heading North on 94 and you'll get into Milwaukee. 94 continues West, so i-41 and i-43 are your choices to go North - both end up in Green Bay, and you jump off from there to Door County. Personally, I've taken both and significantly prefer 43. Scenery a bit nicer, more places to stop if needed along the way. Just to the North of Milwaukee off 43, there's Cedarburg (http://www.cedarburg.org/), which is a very historic, charming small town. Further North - about halfway to Green Bay - there's Kohler and Sheboygan. Continuing North on 43 getting close to Green Bay, there is a somewhat hidden waterfall park not too far off the highway. Fonferek Falls (https://www.gowaterfalling.com/waterfalls/fonferek.shtml) is a bit treacherous (there are signs) but very pretty if there's been recent rain. If there hasn't been, it may be dry. There is a parking lot next to a very pretty farm owned by the most recent generation of the family that has owned the land. There is a path at the end of the parking lot that winds around and heads towards the Falls. When you're going into Green Bay, look for the exit to 57 to Sturgeon Bay. You will take that the remainder of the way. This didn't used to exist and getting up to Door County used to require a longer side road journey. Not too long after being on 57, you will get into Wequiock. Slightly off the road, there is a little park that has another small waterfall (https://gowaterfalling.com/waterfalls/wequiock.shtml) although again, if it's been a dry season there may not be much to see. After you get onto 57 in Green Bay and start heading North it's a straightforward and pretty quick trip the remainder of the way to Sturgeon Bay. Enjoy your stay.

  8. Hello, I plan to travel to the Atlantic City casino area 12/14 - 12/15 (Saturday-Sunday). I am looking for a 3.5* hotel @ approximately $100/night. I prefer to be close to the casinos and boardwalks - since the party I am traveling would love to go to the casinos I would appreciate some assistance in suggesting some places. thanks - Noela
  9. You're welcome. Is the Pan Pacific the only hotel you're interested in or would something else near the port also work for your needs? 10. Thank you for your detailed replied. It is greatly appreciated.

  12. So for this hotel: 4.5* HOTWIRE Downtown - Coal Harbour, Convention Center, & Stanley Park for $157 Resort Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Golf nearby ==> i agree with your guess of the Pan Pacific If you're not, be aware that our BiddingHelper.com tool will identify just about any HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS offers... just do your search at Bidding Helper, click the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW or PRICELINE EXPRESS tab, and then hover your mouse over the 'SEE MATCH from HOTEL LIST' button. Back to your bed situation... Some HOTWIRE (and PRICELINE EXPRESS) hotels will show a Bed Choice option where you can choose the room configuration that you want. Unfortunately this property does not show a room choice, which means that the actual room will be assigned at check-in based upon availability. When no room choice is assigned you can usually call the hotel ahead of time and request the room type that you want. Most hotels will note this request on your reservation and will do what they can to accommodate... a few hotels will indicate that they can't make any changes to the reservation or that a room can't be determined until check-in (often in this situation i may just say 'thank you' and call back in 2-3 days and hope for a different front desk person to answer the phone... i also try to call when i assume they won't be too busy; never at 11am check-out time or 3-4pm check-in time so that the person on the phone may be willing to take a little extra time vs. if they have a line of people waiting in front of them. If this too fails, i then may do a little homework, find the email address of the hotel manager, and send an email indicating that i'm looking forward to my stay, it's a special occasion, and make my bed type known). One thing in your favor at this property is that the hotel charges the same for rooms with 1 King bed vs. rooms with 2 beds. In some areas (such as Las Vegas) hotels charge more for rooms with 2 beds, and therefore if that is the room type you are seeking, it may become a little more difficult since you're not just making a bedding request, but seeking the more expensive room type. Lastly, the Pan Pacific Vancouver is selling for about $223 for your nite above, so the question also becomes is the ~$65 savings worth the chance that you may or may not get the room configuration that you want. If a 2 bedded room was $150 would it be acceptable? at $125? at $100? Typically at some point the possibility of not getting the room type you want becomes worthwhile in exchange for the amount of the savings. Do you have an amount in mind where staying right near the cruise pier becomes worthwhile even if you were to only receive a room with two beds... or is a room with two beds a deal breaker at any price? If this is a deal breaker, what is your budget for a room this trip for a one bedded room? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there.
  13. October 6th, 2020 for one night. $157 plus fees/taxes for a total of $201.74
  14. Welcome to BetterBidding! Let us first have a look at the offer (we will confirm that we agree with your guess of the Pan Pacific) and we'll then be able to investigate what your bedding options may be. So we can research this for you, what are the dates of your stay and the room rate for the hotel offer you're looking at? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  15. No mention of beds for 4.5 star deal, don't want to end up with 2 doubles I'm considering booking a "hot rate", which I believe will end up being the Pan Pacific, which is great because we are cruising from Canada Place. The price listed is considerably less than I've seen elsewhere, but there is no mention of room time. I don't want to end up with two doubles when I check in. I noticed in the terms that it says only the rate is guaranteed, not the room type or beds. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  18. Congratulations on your success! Looks like a nice deal... thank you for sharing your win with the board and helping us add the amenity set for this property to the Denver Priceline Express Hotel List. To confirm, this is showing as 4.5 star in your confirmation email, as i'm currently seeing the Westin Downtown listed as 4 stars by Priceline (if you're seeing at 4.5 star we will mark it as such, assuming that it was a recent upgrade and it is taking a little while for the new rating to be reflected on the 'retail' side of their service) Please click the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay.
  19. Free internet, Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Spa services I knew there were only two River North 5* hotels, but one of them is the Trump and I really wanted to avoid it -- and they often show exactly the same amenities. Fortunately the BiddingHelper.com predicted the Langham, and then showed me an 'actual photo', so I was totally confident. (That would have been an extremely expensive mistake!) This is an absolutely amazing deal. I stayed one time at the Langham, and I think it is the best hotel I have ever stayed in, anywhere. But I'd never be able to afford it at rack price! (And I even got Bed Choice!)

  21. Thank you very much! We will take a cab especially as it will be about 2am german time when we leave the airport (Munich is 7 hours in front of Chicago) and we all will be very tired. So it`s more comfortable and I hope at about 7pm the traffic will be okay. Have a nice day, Christian
  22. Congratulations on your success! Nice to see you're happy with the win... $70 savings on a $99 purchase seems like a pretty good discount, imo. We're happy to hear you like the new feature(s) at BiddingHelper.com and it was helpful with your purchase! Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please click the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay.
  23. Our trip is far in the future, but I wanted to have the first hotels booked, even in this area, where there are not so many hotels. I thought that maybe in August it could get full soon in Door County. Not really a big bargain, but it saved nearly 70 $ compared to a booking through Best Western directly. We booked two Queen bed rooms, so it was slighty more expensive than the room with double beds. Including taxes and after a Hotwire Coupon discount code sent by email it was 216 USD for 1 night and two rooms. The amenities are: Free Breakfast Free Internet Free Parking Pet Friendly Indoor Pool Spa Non-Smoking Handicap Accessible Thank you for the help on your website. Your BiddingHelper.com identified the hotel perfectly. Greetings from cold Munich, Germany Christian
  24. NicoleFnJane, Thanks for the info! AMBERW, As i'm sure you're finding out, or were already aware, historically this is one of the most expensive weekends in NYC. 25. I highly don’t recommend Queens County Inn & Suites personally. A friend stayed there in September and moved twice before going to another hotel. i highly recommend the Ravel in the area or literally any of the 4 stars in LIC. The Wingate is brand new too
  26. We have recently added a new feature to the BiddingHelper.com which should easily identify this, as well as most other, hotels... 1) search with the BiddingHelper.com 2) click the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW or PRICELINE EXPRESS tab 3) hover your mouse over (or click) the 'SEE MATCH from HOTEL LIST' Using the method above: 3* Long Island City (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $120/nite with: Free Breakfast Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet ==> Queens County Inn and Suites Long Island City is the best guess for this one Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. 29. Thanks for the wishes- The Pyongchang gold winning US Sled Hockey team was in town for a training camp, so we got to meet them, which was really cool, and we got to watch some of the Delco Phantoms ( Phillies AHL affiliate ) training camp in the adjoining arena. Plus, I learned a lot and had an excellent hotel stay. Thanks again!
