  8. OK, here we go... PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, so using their service for more than double occupancy can be a bit risky (especially in NYC where rooms are notoriously small and hotels often have a high percentage of rooms with only one bed and little/no space for a roll-away bed to be brought into the room... and rooms with 2 beds often are considered an upgrade and cost more). The one exception to this would be if you can find a PRICELINE EXPRESS Del hotel that offers a 'Bed Choice' and one of those choices is a room that is designed to accommodate 4 guests. --> Unfortunately i don't currently see any PRICELINE EXPRESS hotels rated 3.5* or higher rated hotels in NYC at under $200/nite that show a Bed Choice option. HOWEVER, HOTWIRE allows you to search for up to quad occupancy and guarantees that there will be sleeping accommodations for everyone that you include in your search. However, i'm not seeing any 3.5* rated hotels for your dates for under $200/nite when searching for quad occupancy. So your options come down to: -lowering your star rating -increasing your budget -staying outside of Manhattan (at a nearby location where you can commute into the city via bus/train) Alternately, if your plans are not yet firm (ie- you have not yet purchased airline tix) and you're able to delay your trip by 1 week you should see some better pricing as Dec 15 is right on the cusp of when we tend to go from some of the highest rates of the year drop to slightly more reasonable levels.... if you could delay even further (Dec 20-24) or into January/February it is one of the slowest times of the year for NYC and you will see rates at about half of what you're seeing for your original dates above. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know your thoughts, and how flexible (if at all) you are with the dates and we'll take it from there.
  9. How to get on Disney property. 3.5 to 5 Bonnie Creek On property Disney Hotel Dec6 to Dec 7 up to 250.00
  10. Please start by following-up your previous Orlando Hotwire hotel and Hotwire Disney threads with whatever you ended up doing for each of those trips. Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans. For the offer above, have you tried using our newly updated BiddingHelper.com tool: 1) enter your travel dates and searchat BiddingHelper.com 2) click the PRICELINE EXPRESS tab 3) hover your mouse over (or click) the blue 'FIND MATCH in HOTEL LIST' button --> do you see the name of the hotel? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  11. Thank you very much for the info. I don't have any idea about the shopping on that weekend. Im going fron Bogotá Colombia, and our budget is around 200/night.
  12. 3.5 star orlando, Disney springs January 2-5 114 per night Pets allowed, pool, restaurant, fitness, airport shuttle
  13. Welcome to BetterBidding! Historically this is a very expensive weekend in NYC as it often brings lots of international travelers doing their last minute holiday shopping. As well, needing a room for quad occupancy is going to likely limit your options and increase the price. So we can get started seeing what is available, what is your expected budget for this trip? (per nite before fees/taxes) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know regarding your budget and we'll take it from there.

  19. We are hoping to get a - 5* hotel - Aspen Colorado - 17 - 21 January 2020 - for as little as possible Any ideas?
  20. I first got an email from the executive offices offering me what you had suggested they might: cancel for full refund or keep the reservation for a 20% refund. I rejected that and told them in an email that "Your contract states that I may receive a minimum recovery of $5000 if I take this issue to arbitration and am awarded by the arbitrator an amount greater than Priceline's last written settlement offer. If I do not hear from you again within 3 days I will initiate the arbitration process." I also sent them a copy of a very formal-looking arbitration complaint that I had prepared to initiate the arbitration process. (It is sometimes helpful to be a retired attorney.) Approximately 3 days later I got a phone call in which they upped their offer. I had earlier told them I would not post the actual amount here. I will state that I initially told them I was willing to settle by keeping the existing reservation at no cost to me. The Express Deal I originally accepted was for a 3-star hotel, 1 King Bed + Sofabed - Standard Room; Empire State Building area (should have been Times Square area); $96/night Dec. 22-Dec. 26; Taxes and Fees $130.64, for a total charge of $514.64, for the Hyatt Place New York City/Times Square. I don't believe that hotel it is being offered as a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal now, but today's posted price on Priceline is $254/night for total cost of $1,307. (The posted price today for the other Hyatt Place, in the Empire State Building area is actually lower, at $196/night.) Also interesting is that Booking.com describes the Hyatt Place Times Square as being in the Hell's Kitchen area. Thanks again for your help and support. This is a great site!
  21. So based upon your parameters is this very affordable 5 star: 5* Times Square - Theatre District (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $150/nite with: Fitness Center Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet ==> The Michelangelo Hotel Does this work for your needs and budget? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
  22. Star rating: 5* City: New York Zone: Soho or Times Square Travel Dates: 14 - 17 January Room Rate: The minimum/as little as possible for a 5* hotel
  23. So what was the offer that you agreed to? Were there any previous offers that you had turned down? This will likely take 3-4 weeks before you see any changes on their site. Can you please also confirm the room rate per nite when you paid (before any settlement you worked out with PRICELINE) so we can accurately reflect this in the topic title of the thread. Glad to see you were able to get this resolved. Enjoy the holidays in the city!
  24. Priceline made an offer to settle our dispute and I accepted it. However, as of this morning, their website still incorrectly shows the Hyatt Place New York City/Times Square property as being in the Priceline Empire State Building area.
  25. Congratulations on your success! Looks like a great deal and hope this works well for your plans. Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay.
  26. Thank you for sharing your results with the board. Not sure if you didn't like either of the hotels above, but each was offered for substantially less than $160, so not sure why you continued to raise your bid over the price of the ones above. Be sure to use our BiddingHelper.com for your future bidding, as it: 1) will offer a guess as to the PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE hotel being offered for 2) shows regular rate prices of hotels of the same star rating in the zone, thereby determining if the PRICELINE EXPRESS / HOTWIRE offer is a good deal or not, and makes it easy to know what your maximum bid for a hotel of this star rating in the zone should be 3) has a priceline bidding form 'ready to go' if you decide not to go with the PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE offers Hopefully once you got PRICELINE on the phone it was easy enough to have them refund the difference and that you ultimately had a fun time in NYC! Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Feel free to ask for a strategy before bidding in the future as i'm sure we could have prevented this overbid.
