  5. There is THIS 3.5* Long Island City hotel for $143/nite: Complimentary Free internet Amenities Business center, Fitness center, Pet friendly, Restaurant(s), Smoke-free rooms Accessibility In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom ==> best guess would be the Wyndham Gardne Long Island City ... and this 4 star Long Island City for $176 which i believe we agree is likely The Ravel Let us know whatever you decide and how it goes. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  6. I can’t with Hotwire anymore. I’m going to find something as cheap as humanly possible and I’m going to book it and use up my hot dollars. If it doesn’t meet the promises I’m going to file a cc dispute. I will NEVER seek resolution through Hotwire again and anyone who does is mad
  7. Radisson Wall Street is even cheaper but no balcony or guaranteed view 😭
  8. I’m having a hard time pulling the trigger I’m prob going to regret this but I’m going to try to resist til I get out of the shower 😭
  9. Nervously watching rates creep up. About to pull the trigger on Boro. Any last tips?
  10. Are you seeing any better than 192 for a queen balcony at Boro ? LIC 4.5 * I’m using 1 adult 1 child criteria for 9/11-9-13
  11. Changing search to 2adults/1child i see THIS 4 star hotel in Long Island City for $205/nite which would appear to be the Ravel. (as always confirm your travel details on the landing page) Complimentary Free breakfast, Free internet Amenities Business center, Fitness center, Golf nearby, Pet friendly, Restaurant(s), Smoke-free rooms Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes.
  12. I can’t get Ravel to pop no matter my criteria unless I omit 9/11. i can get boro Queen with balcony for $196 which is a lot more than I want but puts me in at $10 over HoJo and guarantees a balcony with a Manhattan view. Waiting to hear from you to pull the trigger hopefully
  13. Understood.... would you take the Ravel at a $205/nite Hot Rate? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  14. I can only use my hot dollars on hot rates per the CSR
  15. With your additional Hot Dollars would you do the Ravel at $205/nite?
  16. Yesterday
  17. Wildberry (https://www.yelp.com/biz/wildberry-pancakes-and-cafe-chicago-2) is a short walk away from your hotel, although it is a popular breakfast option so there may be some wait. Fancier is Beatrix (https://www.beatrixrestaurants.com/beatrix/river-north/menu/breakfast/) in River North, which also has lunch/dinner and a coffee/pastry bar (https://www.beatrixrestaurants.com/beatrix/river-north/menu/coffee-pastry-bar/). Siena Tavern (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g35805-d3879063-Reviews-Siena_Tavern-Chicago_Illinois.html) would be another dinner option, as would be Sable (https://www.yelp.com/biz/sable-kitchen-and-bar-chicago-3) and Ema (https://www.emachicago.com/menu/dinner/.) Eataly is also a lot of fun. I'm very familiar with Chicago and happy to answer any questions.
  18. So update. Still having major issues with the hot cash thing and spent literally hours today going in circles about it. Problem is still not fixed but they threw another $40 hot cash at me as a sorry so I will suck it up. Looking for best recommendations fitting the above criteria with $80 hot cash and the 8% and I’m going to try to be a little more flexible in the budget to avoid another nightmare or at least get a good enough deal I can cope cause I don’t want to have to do their resolution process ever again. Asking here as i’m not sure why but your rates are always a few dollars cheaper than what I see and I’m clearly a budget traveler.
  19. ... and then you'll be destined to places like the Howard Johnson, which are not only more than you care to spend, but much more than you care to spend for that quality.
  20. Yeah it’s gone thanks to my hot cash not working from mobile and hotwire’s refusal to help think I’m going to quit blind booking
  21. I'm not seeing this property offered at all anymore (at any price) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  22. Welcome (officially) to BetterBidding and congratulations on your success! Glad to see you're pleased with the results and looking forward to your trip... we're happy to hear that the information here has been helpful with your purchases. If you want to make this even easier we have a new tool we just released, RevealHotels.com that will (pardon the pun) reveal the hotel with just a click. It sounds like Lou Malnati's would fit the bill quite well. There are a few locations throughout the city, but last time we visited we went to the Gold Coast location at 1120 N State St that has a super-cool vibe (think converted warehouse feel). I wasn't as impressed with Au Cheval (800 W Randolph St) but then again, 1) i'm not a huge fan of burgers (i'm more of a pizza guy, which i guess reinforces my recommendation above) and, 2) i 'had enough' after the 2+ hour wait... but it's a 'dive bar' that some claim to be one of the best burgers in the country. I would probably give it another try at an 'off hour' when the wait would likely not be so bad, and it wouldn't be my first choice, but it may be something your 15 year old might like so i'll let you do the research and decide for yourself. Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using the board's HOTWIRE link for your purchase. Have a great trip.
  23. Eager to try this brand. Booked through Better Bidding link of course, and used BB coupon code for extra 8% off! I would never have had the guts to risk Hotwire in the first place without your insight into likely hotels. Since that first hesitant but successful win several years ago, you wonderful folks have saved me hundreds of dollars, I can't thank you enough! Noticed that the "this hotel is guaranteed to be one of these 3" info changed between preview screen and detail screen, something to be aware of. The hotel room shot pic, though, was obviously Virgin so no surprise there. Any suggestions for casual dinner in Mag Mile shopping area? My 15 yo appreciates a little cool factor, but we aren't dressy (or rich :)). Just hicks from a nearby state that exports cheese and wacky politics, visiting Chicago for an end-of-summer blowout. We'll see Hamilton, and probably Teatro Zinzanni. Maybe John Hancock or Willis, boat tour on river. Suggestions welcome! Thanks again -- Amenities Free internet Business center Fitness center Golf nearby Pet friendly Restaurant(s) Smoke-free rooms
  24. Congratulations on your success! Great to see you scored an awesome deal for this nite.! Hopefully you'll be able to do just as well for the remaining nite. If you need help with the additional nite feel free to start a NEW TOPIC and we will have a look and offer our thoughts. Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay.
  25. Lets try again though I'm scared that I might have missed my chance since I'm getting $188 now.
  26. Got this on first bid of $80 (Boo! Maybe should have tried lower!) But had tried before at this price with failure so started there. Final price with taxes and fees was $$99.00. Very happy with this price. Think this hotel was also the "Priceline Express" deal which was listed at $83 (but went up to $116 after 40% (!) taxes and fees). Marriott's website final listed price for this hotel was $244. Cheapest 3* thing closest to this price was a Holiday Inn at final price of $128. Anyway, happy with this hotel and price. Need another room on 12/17 for this same area but tried the three re-bids up to $80 but was denied. Will try again another day. Started my bid from your site! Thank you!
  27. Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and that you like the new Reveal Hotels site. Hopefully HOTWIRE will offer something for the Hotwire Coupon not working for you on the first purchase, but unfortunately they usually do not (i would push for some 'Hot Dollars' as i think that may be the best you can do, which are like a credit to use on a future purchase). It seems odd that the coupon code would work one purchase but not the other... did you get an error message when the code did not work? (we have had some instances where the code was not set-up correctly by HOTWIRE, but in these instances the code would not work at all for any users, so i have started to test the codes on the first day they are live to make sure they are working correctly, as this one worked fine on Monday morning... but if there is a scenario where the code does not work please let us know so we can replicate the same steps when testing in the future) Thank you for sharing your results and using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay... have fun in Vegas!
