    4* Orlando FL (FEB 26 - MAR 1 2019)

The bidding side of PRICELINE will now usually show you the 'worst case scenario' resort fee on the page before you submit your bid. Basically PRICELINE is trying to show you the maximum that the hotel could cost you on an all-in basis. As always, if the hotel has no resort fee then none is payable directly to the hotel (or if there is a resort fee but it's less than the amount shown on your bidding page then the lesser amount is payable directly to the hotel). Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how you decide to proceed and what you ultimately receive or how we can be of further help.

    4* Orlando FL (FEB 26 - MAR 1 2019)

I tried re-bidding on Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Orlando Intl Drive North upto $85 with no dice. I was going to try Intl Drive South - Sea World & Intl Drive - Convention Center - Sea World but the there is a huge resort fee of $91 - $118 for the 3 days. Is this normal to appear on NYOP? I never noticed it before in past bids years ago.
  5. Is it possible to find a 3.5* or better hotel for May 7-11? Amtrak is having a buy one get one sale good through tomorrow ONLY and we are considering going but only if we can get a good deal... prices we are seeing are over $200. We'd like to stay near the theatre district. Yes, I know there are many other areas of NYC and we have stayed there, but my husband isn't hip on subway or Uber and wants to be within somewhat of a walking distance. Thank you for help in advance. Regardless if our decision to go or not, I'll post in the thread what happens. Edited to add: We are looking for $150 base price and that includes any "resort fee" (what are we, going to Las Vegas? sheesh! This is new -- it's been a few years), but extra taxes yada yada, we understand. Basically, $700 total is doable maybe. Thanks!

    4* Orlando FL (FEB 26 - MAR 1 2019)

OK, so based upon your FOUR acceptable zones and a maximum bid of $90 i would proceed as follows: When bidding 4* in the Orlando area you have NINE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 4* Convention Center, SeaWorld, Drive North, Universal Resort Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $68, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $73, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $78, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $83, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $85 If the above is rejected, it would be cheaper to purchase the following 4 star in the 'Intl. Drive South - Sea World Area' zone with the board's 5% off Priceline Coupon: 4* Intl. Drive South - Sea World (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $91/nite with: Free Parking Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center Free Internet in public areas ==> best guess for this one would be the Sheraton Vistana Villages Resort Villas, I-Drive/Orlando Any questions feel free to ask. Please start your bids with the board's BiddingForHotelRooms.com page or with the link above if you go with that Priceline Express deal. Good luck and let us know how it goes or how we can be of further help.

    4* Orlando FL (FEB 26 - MAR 1 2019)

Makes total sense, but one additional question... Your original post included these FIVE zones: ... but your proposed bidding above did not include the Intl. Drive - Pointe Orlando, should we include this zone in your 4 star bidding or is this zone no longer of interest? An important question/zone since it may be the least expensive based upon this PRICELINE EXPRESS offer: 4* Intl. Drive - Pointe Orlando (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $55/nite with: Pets Allowed Restaurant Indoor Swimming Pool Airport Shuttle Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center ==> best guess would be the Westgate Lakes Resort And Spa So we now that this is one possible outcome for a 4 star hotel in your original FIVE zones... if this is not an acceptable outcome, i think you can still be successful for a 4* in your other zones but it will more likely be closer to the upper end of your $90 target. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.

    NYC hotels

Welcome to BetterBidding! Rates are low for these dates (tbh, i'm somewhat surprised given the length of your stay) but depending upon how flexible you are in terms of zones, these are my thoughts... If you're flexible on zones i would suggest taking this Priceline Express offer (w/ the extra 5% discount offered thru the board's Priceline Coupon): 4.5* Madison Square Garden - Convention Area (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $150/nite with: Pets Allowed Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Free Internet in room Fitness Center Free Internet in public areas ==> best guess for this property would be the Crowne Plaza HY36 Midtown Manhattan which is a fairly new hotel, gets excellent reviews, and is centrally located a couple of blocks from Penn Station for easy access to multiple subway lines. Not sure how you feel about this area, but it's just south of Hell's Kitchen and north of Greenwich Village, both of which you mentioned as being desirable (so i would think this would offer good access to both). Could you possibly bid on PRICELINE and get this for slightly less, but i wouldn't necessary want to take the risk of potentially landing a different 4.5* property in the zone in hope of saving a few dollars. If you're 'set' on the zones above, we can suggest a bidding strategy for you to follow, and you should be successful at under $175/nite, but again, you would need to willing to accept any 4.5 star (or higher) rated hotel in the zones that you're bidding, which puts something like Kimpton Ink48 Hotel New York into play (ie- a 4.5* hotel in the Hell's Kitchen zone) which gets very good reviews, but not exactly the most central of locations. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know your thoughts on the above (or how it goes if you take the guessed Crowne Plaza HY36 Midtown Manhattan offer above) and how you'd like to proceed, and we'll take it from there. PS- if you're new to priceline bidding, or if you bid often, you may notice that the Name Your Own Price is becoming more difficult to find as priceline is constantly moving/hiding it, we have therefore created the following page for easy access which you can bookmark and/or use: BiddingForHotelRooms.com

My apologizes, I just re-read the re-bid process (I forgot how it worked). It would be #2 4* upto $90 if rejected 3.5* upto 70. I hope I make sense.

No... What is your goal: 1) the least expensive 3.5* or better hotel vs. 2) the highest rated hotel up to your limit (so a 4 star up to $xx, if rejected a 3.5 star up to $xx, etc) or 3) something else?

This link was posted 3+ days ago and the deal is no longer available (and therefore NOT a good option to use as a back-up). Even if you search PRICELINE EXPRESS this hotel appears, but if you click the link you will get a message that the offer is no longer available. The board HOTEL LISTS contain hotels that have been reported to the board and is updated any time new information is reported to the board. As new hotels can be added/removed at any time, or hotels can be upgraded/downgraded in star rating, no list can ever be considered 100% up-to-date. You can use re-bid strategies to bid more frequently than once per day (see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained, but make sure you ask for help and/or confirm your re-bid zones before proceeding to make sure you don't end up in a zone that you didn't intend). If you would like to move forward PRICELINE Name Your Own Price let us know which zone(s) and star rating you would like to try first, along with your maximum bid amount, and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow (keeping in mind you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you choose). Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.

    4* Orlando FL (FEB 26 - MAR 1 2019)

Thereuare, thank you so far for doing some searches for me. I dug into the hotel list for Priceline for NYOP and was wondering how accurate is this list? I might start a bid at $40 and move up $5 wait another 24hrs go a second round at $5 increments to $75. I will probably go no higher than $80 bid since the wife is willing to settle on the 3.5* Four Points by Sheraton Orlando International Drive on the Express Deal Priceline for $76/nite (btw, the link for this Express Deal doesn't show up when clicked on) So what would be the game plan based on the list? Hotel 2-21 to 2-24

This is the one i was looking at and the hotel i thought it was. i think i just need to call them and see if they have an extra resort fee on top of all of this. I was reading the reviews and someone said something about a shuttle for an extra cost but I was not sure if anyone had any info on all of that. I will give them a call today. i dont think i have registered for hotwire before. i had only used priceline years ago.

    Hotel 2-21 to 2-24

Welcome to BetterBidding! A bigger concern i would have with Priceline Name Your Own Price would be the occupancy issue... all PRICELINE reservations are only guaranteed for double occupancy, after that it is up to the hotel, and you will actually be FIVE, which is often beyond the designated occupancy for many 'standard' hotel rooms. PRICELINE EXPRESS would still be an option if you choose a hotel offer that shows a Bed Choice and one of the room configurations offers would accommodate all five of you (although technically your room is only booked for double occupancy, i don't know anyone who has yet been turned about showing up with 3/4 guests when a specific room type was booked and that room is designed to accommodate the number of guests in the group; keep in mind you're FIVE guests so it may get a little trickier).n offer that shos Your best option, imo, would be HOTWIRE as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy. As well, they only ask for the number of children in the room that are 2+ years old. So you could 'safely' search for 2adults/1child and still be within their terms (since your twins are under 2 years old). However, you still need a room for 5, which can create problems at many hotels, so my suggestion would be to search for 1room/2adults/2children. Should you have an issue at check-in you can then reasonably indicate that you really only needed to include 1 child since the other two are under 2 years age, but i would do this in order to increase the chances and put the odds in your favor of getting a room that can accommodate five guests. Ideally i would further seek out a 'suite' type hotel which is also more likely to be able to accommodate five guests, which would also further decrease the chances that you encounter any issues. With the above noted, searching HOTWIRE for Feb 21-24, 1room/2adults/2children (ages 4 and 3), i see: 3.5* HOTWIRE Walt Disney World - Bonnet Creek for $117.00 Free Parking Complimentary Breakfast Free Internet Pet Friendly Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Tennis Kitchenette ==> Towneplace Suites Orlando @ Flamingo Crossings West Entrance would be my best guess for this one (and was actually the one i had in mind and was hoping would show up on a search for your dates when i mentioned a suite-type hotel above). Furthermore, i have searched this hotel's own website for 1room/2adults/2children (ages 4 and 1) and the same room appears (and at the same price) as when searching for 1room/2adults/3children (ages 4, 1, 1)... which indicates that this 'standard' room should accommodate 5 guests. It's still possible that the hotel could take issue that you booked for 4 guests and are actually five, but i think the chances of that are fairly low given: -the standard rooms here appear to accommodate 5 guests -your twins are very young (it gets harder when your 'kids' are teenagers and taller than the check-in clerk, but you have a few years before you need to worry about that ) -if there are any problems you have the 'fallback' of that you didn't include the twins because HOTWIRE only asks for children that are 2+ years old and neither of them are 2 years old yet If you're a new HOTWIRE customer you can use our Hotwire Coupon and this all-in comes to about $3 more per nite than your target (even if your email address has already been used with HOTWIRE you're looking at about $12/nite more than your budget... still a good deal given this hotel gets good reviews, includes parking, includes breakfast, and should fit your needs for 5 guests) Does this fit well for your plans for this leg of your trip?
