  2. Congratulations on your success... and glad to hear you like the new Reveal Hotels! Not sure why HOTWIRE had an issue with processing your transaction but glad to see that it finally went thru and you're now set for this initial nite of your trip. Did you also purchase the other nites of your stay (at the Encore?) or did you not yet move forward for that part of the stay? If still looking, did you want to also consider the Center Strip area since that is where you will be the first nite, or did you only want to stay in the North Strip area for the balance? Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using the board links for your purchase(s). Enjoy this leg of your stay.
  3. Ok I tried for another 45 minutes and got the Cosmopolitan Nov. 10th one night $62 . Great deal. Thanks for informing of this. I had never used Hotwire before and didn't know about your reveal hotels link. Thank you very much. I will go thru my email to try to find info on the Denver and Cleveland hotels and update this site accordingly.
  4. Looks like now Cosmo gone, but I wish it had informed me of such before I wasted 2 1/2hours on the site. I refreshed and it showed deal still there. Kept putting credit card and it kept throwing me out Oh well. If you come across another such deal pls advise. Thank you.
  5. I found the link to the Hotwire Cosmo hotel. I've been trying to book for two hours and it won't go thru. I tried on my computer and cell phone. It keeps giving me an error message. I've tried to sign in on Hotwire on computer and won't let me but will allow on my phone. I have gone thru your site. The payment /card is good,so I don't know what is the problem. I refreshed and the deal is still valid. I'm going to try again. Thanks.
  6. Thank you. I thought that since hotels in same general area changing would be less of a hassle. But I hear Cosmopolitan is nice and would like to stay there for that one night. I have never used Hotwire and not sure where to find the Cosmo hotel on the site for the price you listed. Yes, I am getting in late because next day flight was too early and was able to change at less costs. Was going to stay at Tuscany for $27 (1st night) plus of course resort fee but decided to try to stay at a 5* for entire trip. As far as those other two hotels, I'll check my email as that was a long time ago. Sorry I didn't update.
  7. Please follow-up your previous Denver Airport Priceline hotel and Hotwire Cleveland Airport hotel threads with whatever you ended up doing for each of those trips. Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans. For the hotels above: 5* The Strip - Northeast (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $136/nite with: Free Parking Fitness Center Casino Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> Encore At Wynn Las Vegas For the Solo Sunday nite: 5* The Strip - Northeast (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $92/nite with: Free Parking Fitness Center Airport Shuttle Business Center Casino Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino Splitting the stay as you have would look to be the least expensive combination, but you have to decide if the price difference is worth needing to change rooms (or if you really need a 5 star hotel for the first nite depending upon how early/late you arrive, how much you'll be in the room, how much you want to be in this part of the strip (and close to the hotel for the remaining nites of your stay)). For example, if your sole objective is price, you could even do this for the Sunday arrival: 5* HOTWIRE Center Strip - Fountains for $61 Free Parking Free Internet Pet Friendly Boutique Casino Fitness Pool Restaurant Business ==> from our new tool/sister site, RevealHotels.com, best guess for this one would be the Cosmopolitan Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
  8. I don't think any of the above are necessarily going to guarantee you a city view. Finding a hotel that you want and that shows a specific room type (ie- 'city view' ) that you're hoping for is going to be a difficult feat... most hotels are not going to be that descriptive nor are they necessarily going to disclose/label their most sought after rooms at a deep discount. You may get lucky, and it does happen, but you're really holding out for the needle in the haystack. Sometimes you can upgrade to the type of room you want just by asking, or sometimes with an additional upgrade fee... but this is HIGHLY 'your mileage may vary'; so much depends upon what is available at the time you check-in, mood of the front desk clerk, hotel policy, occupancy levels, etc. etc. At check-in you could ask if a room with a view is available, and if the answer is 'no', you could then ask 'what about for an additional fee could i upgrade to a room with a view?' Such a room may not be available, or the front desk clerk may not want to go thru the keystrokes to re-assign your room, or you may be given a price for the upgrade (which you can then still try negotiating lower). Bottomline is that the opaque providers offer a deep discount in exchange for being flexible, so unless you're able to find a room that specifically offers a city view, and you would be disappointed if you end up in a standard room, you may have to 'pay up' for the room type you want at regular retail rates (at which point i will also add that our current Priceline Coupon is valid for PRICELINE EXPRESS as well as and 'retail' rates where you pay in advance. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us how you'd like to proceed or how we can be of further help.
  9. Can you please help me identify this 5* hotel northeast strip. Express deals show the following for 3 nights Nov. 11-14, 2019, $136: 5* , parking, fitness, casino, restaurant, no smoking, pool. A few days ago it was $116 a night. I didn't act fast enough. Snooze you loose. Thank you, and also 5* $92 Nov 10-11,2019, northeast strip, fitness, shuttle, busi ctr., casino, restaurant, no smoking, pool. I'm thinking about coming in a day early. I think it would be cheaper to make the 3 night and then get the one night at $92. What do you think. Thanks for your help.
  10. Last week
  11. Looks like none of these would translate to city view, right? As far as Kimpton describes their rooms. hoteleventi.com/hotels-in-manhattan/nyc-boutique-hotel-rooms/ $209/night Room Assigned At Check-In - Sleeps Two Adults $217/night King Bed $237/night Standard Room $251/night King Bed - Accessible Room $251/night Deluxe Room
  12. Kimpton looks very promising. For 2 nights, $529 for Standard King or $603 for Deluxe Room including 5% promo code is the only remaining decision I think. Will do some more research on the rooms.
  13. Happy to help! Let us know if/how we can help further... or if you want us to have a second look/confirmation at any property before you move forward with a purchase. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Good luck!
  14. Thanks, yeah $300 / night was the budget I had in mind. Those all look interesting and great feedback, thanks for putting it together. I will do some more research and let you know where I end up.
  15. Welcome to BetterBidding! Based upon your reference to the Quin, i am assuming your budget is $300 per nite (vs. total for the entire stay). Note that from what i have read there is currently construction/refurbishing going on at that property. If you're open to other ideas some things i see as interesting (with our best guess following each): 5* Central Park South (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $189/nite with: Free Breakfast Pets Allowed Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet ==> InterContinental Times Square 5* Chelsea Area (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $237/nite with: Pets Allowed Fitness Center Business Center Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet ==> Kimpton Eventi 5* HOTWIRE Empire State Building - Bryant Park for $285 Free Internet Pet Friendly Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant ==> Refinery Hotel New York If you don't necessarily have to have a 5 star hotel you could also consider either of the following, both of which generally receive excellent reviews: 4.5* Empire State Building Area (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $214/nite with: Pets Allowed Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet ==> Archer Hotel New York 4.5* Rockefeller Center - Bryant Park (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $231/nite with: Free Breakfast Pets Allowed Fitness Center Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet ==> Park Terrace Hotel on Bryant Park Any of the above of interest? I'm very familiar with NYC so ask any questions that you may have which can help you make a decision. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help.
  16. Hi Guys, Looking at 2 nights in NY, budget probably $300 or so. King bed, double occupancy. 2 adults just looking to be close to bars and restaurants around midtown. We are fairly flexible on location in Manhattan but the idea of a 5 star near Central Park South is appealing. Hotwire Easy View Deal at $258 - which looks like Quin Central park (I assume it has to be to match 3,550 reviews 🙂) - seems like a pretty good deal. Has there been much forum feedback on this or similar 5* deals? Cheers, Dave ETA - probably should have posted this in hotwire forum but flexible between either HW or priceline
  17. Thank you very much for your help! So we better invest the money for the cab than taking public transportation and have to change the lines with the luggage. After our stay at Chicago we rent a car at hertz. Midway would have a choiceline, but at 9.30 am it may take some time with uber or the orange line. Do you know a good hertz station in Chicago? With the reviews it's difficult as satisfied customers rarely write a review. Best wishes, Christian

  19. I'd consider taking a taxi or Uber at 8 if possible. The Ambassador is at the top end of the zone in the Gold Coast area - while not central in the city as a whole, it's an easy walk from here to the top end of the Michigan Ave area and on a nice day it's an also an easy walk to the North of here to Lincoln Park, as well as to Old Town. There's also a Red Line station a few blocks away, too. The Ambassador is in a residential area unlike all of the other downtown properties, so there is a little less street noise than most hotels. This is a historic property with a famed restaurant and was considerably renovated a few years ago when it became the Public Hotel. The structure still is older, but they did a very nice job giving the interior a facelift when that change occurred. I'm very familiar with the city and happy to answer any questions.
  20. Welcome to BetterBidding! The short answer is that there is a flaw in your approach which may prevent you from pursuing one room from the onset: When Bidding on Priceline the star rating you choose is the minimum star rating you're willing to accept... priceline always has the ability to upgrade you to a higher rated hotel. So even if the Delano is/was the only 4.5* hotel in this zone, your bid for a 4.5 star property could be upgraded to a higher 5 star rated hotel. The longer answer is that the Delano Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay is currently rated 5 stars by Priceline. In areas where there are 4* and 5* hotels, but no 4.5* hotels... and in these areas it is believed that priceline shows NYOP bidding available at all 3 star ratings. If there is a successful 4.5* bid, it would be upgraded to a 5 star level. I say "it's believed that..." as there is in reality no way to 100% prove that there are no 4.5 star hotels in a given area since it's possible that one has just never been won or reported to the board. However, i have seen countless situations where i am fairly certain there are no 4.5 star hotels, but the zone offers 4*, 4.5*, and 5* bidding. If the above causes you to exclude bidding for only one room, you may want to consider HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS, where you may (with our help) be able to have a high degree of confidence in a hotel that is identified as the Delano and be able to save money by purchasing that way (vs. the cost of bidding for 2 rooms). What are the date(s) of your stay and what is your budget (both if able to land the Delano and/or if needing 2 rooms)? Also, when discussing your budget, please clarify if that is all-in or 'room only' so we know whether we should be considering resort fees, taxes, etc. in our research. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. PS- another priceline change you have probably noticed is that it's getting more difficult to find the NYOP bidding page as they continue to move/hide it. We have set up the following site for quick and easy access to the bidding page: BiddingForHotelRooms.com
  21. Hi, looking for some help as I've done NYOP several times for Vegas before but maybe the star ratings have changed? When I filter to 4* and 5* hotels in the Strip Southwest, there are no 4.5* hotels in that area (on search or express deals). But when I go to do NYOP and select Strip Southwest, is does give me an option to bid for a 4.5* hotel. I feel like it could be Delano? But they show Delano as 5* now (I feel like it used to be 4.5* before?) Mandalay is 4*, etc... Did they possibly upgrade Delano's star rating on the site but not on NYOP? I'm trying to figure this out because if it's Delano I'll only bid on one room since they're all suites, but if not I'd prefer to book two rooms, so of course will also determine how high I'm willing to bid.
  22. Congratulations on your success! At just about half price looks like an excellent deal... hope you're happy with the results and this property will be convenient for your plans. 27. Site helped me narrow down exactly which hotel was the Express deal 4*. Priceline has it at $314/per night and was able to score at $79/. Appreciate all the help
  28. Congratulations on your success! Glad to hear the new RevealHotels.com tool was helpful to you and that the hotel you were hoping for was offered for your dates... please help spread the word about this new feature. This should prove to be super convenient given this will be a continuation of your previous nites. If you let the property know at check-in that you have a separate reservation for additional nites there is a chance you may not even need to change rooms (usually with a hotel it's not a problem, but with this being a timeshare, it will depend upon who actually owns the unit you're assigned to)s Thank you for sharing your results and using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase. Have a great trip!
