Not bad, even with the $30 Parking. Saw that Expedia rates were around $175.

I was looking for a nice hotel with a kitchenette. This one showed up and had a 4.5 TripAdvisor rating and last review of Jan 2008. It was easy to figure out which hotel it was. Probably could've gotten it for a lower price, but I was hoping for the DoubleTree by bidding higher (has worked in the past). Anyways, I've been to this Hilton before and it's still a good deal at $92 (lowest web price I've found was $125). I was doing searches for the Crowne Plaza on Expedia etc... and they list it as having only smoking room available on those dates. I couldn't find any guarantee of a non-smoking room on the HOTWIRE site. Is it possible that I might end up with a smoking room?

The trip advisor rating is 3.5. Does anybody know what this could be? San Diego - Mission Valley 3.5 stars $134, March 23-28: Restaurant, Fitness, Business Crowne Plaza? But the hotel list on this site says it's a 3*

On most of these credit card policy it says that the car rental must be paid in full with your credit card (e.g. VISA). Does going through Priceline or Hotwire cause the "paid in full with VISA" to be invalid?

I just booked the same specs as above and got Holiday Inn Hotel Circle. So that's probably what it is. Just a quick review. The good: Room wase clean and bed was very comfortable, and I had a fridge in my room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent service. The bad: Parking is $20 a night for self-park, $24 valet. I parked across the street for $15 a night. Unfortunately, because of the downtown location the hotel was located right on the trolley line so it could get noisy when the trams go by. Even on the 13th floor I could hear it. They don't run 24 hours, so it'll only affect those who don't get up at 6am. I suspect that's going to be the same in any downtown hotel. Good value.

This turned out to be a fairly good value. I enjoy this hotel. The staff was very friendly and allowed me to choose what room and floor I wanted to be on. It may help that I'm a Starwood member.

I tried between 80 to $100 for same regions on Priceline. No luck. I do see a new 3* for Hotel Circle on Hotwire. Amendities ares Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center,High-speed Internet Access,Business Center,Laundry Facilities

It was $55 before now $82.

Any idea what this 3* SeaWorld - Mission Bay - Shelter might be ? Pool, Fitness Center, Laundry Facilities I've included everything in Central San Diego and San Diego Costal. The results also showed a 3* in Mission Valley, but I can tell from the amenities that's the Holiday Inn Select I stayed in last month, and didn't enjoy too much.

I agree with this review. In addition I'd like to add that the shower had no pressure and I get surprised 5am morning calls that I didn't ask for when I only got to bed at 3am. They blamed it on a faulty phone system. Needless to say I wasn't happy. I really think they should be rated 2.5* instead of 3. The room isn't bad and it was clean, but the facility seems to be lacking. And there's no real good place to eat in the area.

Does anybody know if there's anything happening that week in San Diego that may be causing the prices to be so high? I can't seem to get a good deal on those dates. Maybe I'm searching too early?

Pool and fitness area are tiny. Restaurant was no good and nowhere close to eat. I also had an uninvited 5am wake-up call. Every day I would come back to my room with pizza flyers just inside my door. I'm not sure if you're supposed to get a newspaper because some days I do, other days I don't. All random. Shower lacks pressure. Okay, enough nit picking.. it was just $60, so I guess I shouldn't expect too much. I really think it should be 2 1/2*

I just came back from my trip. The Westin Grand is a lovely hotel and the staff was great. I got a room a delux room on the 20th floor with a great view of the city. If I really had to nic pic these are the only thing I would say about it. 1 - they have only two elevators and one night, one of them was broken. 2 - the pool is small as noted by smarttraveler, but it's good rarely used by other hotel guests so it's like you have it all to youself The good stuff 1 - the hot whirlpool was an excellent way to relax after a day on Grouse Mountain, although you also have the Sauna and steam room to choose from 2 - taxis are always at the door waiting so it was easy to get transportation 3 - like everybody else said, friendly staff
