  1. Price summary Room $109.00 ($109.00 per night x 1 night x 1 room) Taxes & fees$32.96 Trip total (USD)$141.96 Trip total per night (USD)$141.96 It was pretty easy to figure this was the Rand Tower by the 4.5 stars, the bedroom photo, and the review count. Looked around Minneapolis and all the hotels were about the same price. Nothing stood out as a screaming deal. It was this hotel, the Hilton, Westin or the W Foshay for about the same price. The Hilton and Westin are not quite as nice or new and the W Foshay looked like a W - kind of night clubby.
  2. Thanks thereuare. It is definitely good savings over the PRICELINE EXPRESS price and especially what the regular hotel booking sites are charging, all around $189 as you stated. But its a bit of a game since I've done this many times. Glad your site is still kicking!
  3. PRICELINE EXPRESS had this Sheraton for $74 ($90.97 all-in) and Hotwire was $80 ($98.16). I figured I name your own price on Priceline lower than the PRICELINE EXPRESS price to see what would happen. Sine there are 12 rebids for 3.5 stars, I figured I would start at $60 and go up $1 each time. It was accepted on the first bid - I hate it when that happens. Even though I saved $16.37, I should have started lower! 🙂 Offer price:$60.00/night Number of rooms:1 room Number of nights:1 night Room subtotal:$60.00 Taxes & fees:$14.60 Total charged today:$74.60
  4. Needed a two double bed room since it'll be three adults. Room $116.00 ($116.00 per night x 1 night x 1 room) Coupon applied$11.60 Taxes & fees$26.40 Promo code-$11.60 Trip total (USD)$130.80 Trip total per night (USD)$130.80 Without the promo code, it would have been better to pre-pay on the IHG/Holiday Inn website. So saved about $8.73. Not huge, but 2.5 gallons of gas for the rental car. Got to shop around with HW and PL now since the discounts don't seem to be as great consistently anymore.
  5. I called the front desk at the hotel and they said it is free for any level of Marriott Rewards member. Just have to remember to give them my number when I check in.
  6. Debated what to do in New Orleans. Ultimately, I decided to stay out near the airport since I come in very late Thursday night and I have to work from the hotel room on Friday, and will have a rental car with me all trip. Figured the hotel out and is new and great reviews on the hotel review sites. TripAdvisor lists it as 2.5 stars, but PL rates it 3 stars. This one is isn't listed on the hotel list. Amenities on Express Listing Free Parking Business Center Free Internet Free Breakfast Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Room price: $71.00 avg./night Number of rooms: 1 room Number of nights: 3 nights Room subtotal: $213.00 Taxes & fees: $45.96 Total charged today: $258.96
  7. Thank you - I need to be at a conference in downtown Houston so will have to Uber/Lyft since the rates are so high downtown.
  8. Tried bidding on name your own price until the it became cheaper to do PRICELINE EXPRESS. I had a feeling it was the DFW Airport Marriott due to the "Free Parking" amenity. No free in-room WiFi which is just ridiculous nowadays. Does anyone know if all Marriott Rewards member gets free basic WiFi? If not, I'll just be tethering to my iPhone. Amenities Free Internet Free Parking Airport Shuttle Business Center Fitness Center Non Smoking Restaurant Swimming Pool Room price:$75.00 avg./night Number of rooms:1 room Number of nights:2 nights Room subtotal:$150.00 Taxes & fees:$35.98 Total charged today:$185.98
  9. I cannot figure out this hotel. With the "pets allowed" amenity, it does not match any of the possibilities. With the Omni closed due to the floods, it only leaves the JW Marriott and Royal Sonesta in the Houston Galleria area. Neither of those allow pets. It has been awhile since I've been active, but this one has me stumped. The JW Marriott is cheaper right now than the Sonesta in room searching. Thanks for the help in advance! Price per night before taxes/fees: $87 Amenities listed: Pets Allowed Business Center Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities
  10. I saw that The Henry was being offered as Priceline Express deal for $93. I did Name Your Own Price and started bidding at $70. Using the many rebidding zones in Detroit for a four-star hotel, I made my way $1 at a time till i was accepted at $85. I was happy to cut a bit more from the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal, which was excellent compared to Hotwire ($101) and the direct booking price of $148 plus crazy taxes/fees. It appears with Hot.wire, they have moved the so so Royal Dearborn hotel to four stars while PL has kept it at 3.5 stars. There is a large difference in quality between the two hotels - hopefully PL will not change the rating. Offer Price: $85.00/night Number of rooms: 1 Room Number of nights: 2 Nights Room Subtotal: $170.00 Taxes & Fees: $30.94 Total Charged: $200.94
  11. Selected various areas in central Boston and started bidding at $100. Used free rebid areas and went up $10 at a time until accepted at $170. I figured it would be the Sheraton since I saw it on Hotwire for $167 the previous day, but it was gone from HOTWIRE today. I wonder if I would have been accepted somewhere between $160 and $170. Tripadvisor had Sheraton at $274/$313 after taxes/fees. It definitely seems hit or miss for a four-star reviewed TripAdvisor hotel. Fortunately for only one night. Offer price: $170.00/night Number of rooms: 1 room Number of nights: 1 night Room subtotal: $170.00 Taxes & fees: $33.62 Total charged today: $203.62
  12. IThere are only two 3-star hotels in Redlands and this one was running the cheapest. $88 was the cheapest I could find all-inclusive from Orbitz. Direct from the hotel wwebsite was $92. Started bidding at $60 and got offered counter offer of $13 or greater. I declined and added a re-bid zone and upped to $63. Rejected and upped to $65 using the last re-bid zone available. Accepted at $65.00 Room subtotal: $65.00 Taxes & fees: $14.61 Total charged today: $79.61
  13. Here is all the amenities from the confirmation: Resort Free parking Free Internet Pet friendly Boutique hotel Airport shuttle Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Self-service laundry Internet access Golf nearby Tennis nearby Spa services
  14. Not a lot of choice due to limited availability due to various events like the BNP Paribas tennis going on (our reason for heading to the area). This was about $50 cheaper than the cheapest package on their website. Mixed reviews (saw a couple c-roach photos on Yelp) so hopefully will be an okay experience, but I doubt we will be at the hotel much due to tennis watching from morning through evening. Rate per night $289.00 Nights 3 Rooms ( 2 adults ) 1 Subtotal $867.00 Tax recovery charges + fees $186.53 Hotwire total $1,053.53 Estimated resort fee Pay at hotel $75.00 Trip total $1,128.53 Complimentary Free parking Free Internet Amenities Resort Pet friendly Boutique hotel Airport shuttle Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s)
  15. Room Subtotal: US$ 90.00 Taxes & Fees: US$ 17.77 Total Charged to Card: US$ 107.77 Cheapest on non-PL website was $109 ($119.91 w/taxes). I started bidding at $90 since the check-in was so close. Won on first bid, so I wonder if I should have started lower and used the four free rebids to go up in bigger increments. Well $12.14 saved is better than nothing. Will pay for a few gallons of gas. Nobody has mentioned this hotel so a first. I researched the area and this hotel gets very good reviews on TripAdvisor so glad my research panned out.
  16. $138 on Hotwire and the cheapest four star hotel in the area at $159 on travel sites. Started bidding at $110 and went up in $3 increments till accepted at $125. PL is currently offering a 5% off promo code. Offer Price: avg. per room, per night $125.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 3 + Add nights for the same rate! Room Subtotal: $375.00 Taxes & Fees: $71.52 Priceline Hotel Coupon: -$18.75 Congratulations! Your 5% coupon applied! Total Charged to Card: $427.77
  17. Forgot to post this one. Tried using Priceline for Cedar City to get this or something similar/better cheaper. Ended up getting to the same price as Hotwire and went with that. For a fairly new hotel building, it had non-existent sound insulation so you could hear people in the hallway or noisy neighbors/pets. I had to use earplugs. The free breakfast was the best part of my stay. Hotel Rate per night: $59.00 Nights: 2 Rooms: 1 Tax recovery charges & fees: $20.41 Subtotal: $138.41 Trip total: $138.41 Amenities Free Breakfast Free Internet Pet friendly Pool(s) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  18. Offer Price: $120.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $240.00 Taxes: $44.38 Fees: $13.46 Total Charged to Card: $297.84 Researched HOTWIRE first and saw that this hotel was going for $130 per night. Decided to start bidding at $100 and just used other acceptable areas with well-TripAdvisor reviewed 3.5 star hotels (all higher rates). Denied at $118. Rebid at $120 and accepted. This hotel showed on PRICELINE EXPRESS hotels for $131. Not exactly in an area that most people immediately think to stay in, but the hotel is new and gets 4.5 overall on TripAdvisor so I couldn't pass it up.
  19. Offer Price: $65.00 Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $130.00 Taxes & Fees: $25.10 Total Charged: $155.10 Started bidding at $42 and went up $1 or $2 using rebids and waiting 24 hours a couple times. Rejected at $63 and accepted at $65. Wonder if $64 would have been the magic price. No counteroffers came up. The price for the hotel was definitely on the higher side from previous posts - I think it is definitely due to the holiday season and vacations. AAA price on Marriott site was $101.00. Hotwire had Hyatt or Hilton 4* for $85 but before taxes/fees.
  20. Started bidding in the $40s and went up by $2 each time using free rebids and waiting 24 hours. Rejected at $56 and accepted at $58. Never got any counteroffers. Free parking is a plus and the free lobby wifi is nice as well. Looks to be a good establishment and well reviewed on TripAdvisor. For reference it was $93 all-in via Hotwire and a little bit higher depending on if you qualified for any special rate plans on Hilton.com. Altogether a good savings. Room Subtotal: $58.00 Taxes & Fees: $15.00 Total Charged to Card: $73.00 I haven't posted on the site since the renovation. I like how the winning bid posting has been greatly streamlined and simplified.
  21. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $55.00 Subtotal: $110.00 Taxes & Fees: $21.56 Total Charges*: $131.56 Worked way up to $50 and got a counteroffer for $65 so I waited and bid $55 and was accepted. Cheapest similar hotel was the Best Western Travel Inn and that was $149 all-in with Costco or AAA card. Both have been renovated and get good reviews.
  22. I saw that you had the same exact dates too. Thanks for posting. I figure our paths will cross because we'll be getting the PL rooms near the trash dumpsters. :)
  23. Just to add info, I went up $1 with each rebid until I maxed out and then waited 24 hours and started again at $1 higher than my last failed bid. Always appreciate the info on this board.
  24. Room Subtotal: $178.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $35.08 (USD) Total Room Cost: $213.08 (USD) Was willing to stay in central Boston (no airport or suburbs) or Cambridge. 4 star hotels seemed to be priced about the same as the 3.5 star winning bids. Started my bidding at $75 and used the free rebids until exhausted. Accepted at $89. Le Meridien site had a prepaid rate of $147 (w/fees & taxes) per night. So about a savings of 27.5% off of LM pricing. I see my dates are the same as another LM Cambridge poster.
  25. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $89.00 Subtotal: $267.00 Taxes & Fees: $50.67 Total Charges*: $317.67 Bidding for relatives. Bid over five days starting $65 for NMA and MP zones, went up a dollar for each rebid zone until I ran out for the day. Had three $15 counteroffers at various places, but kept on going up buck by buck. Cheapest I could find for the same nights was $572 all-in so quite a large savings. Thanks PRICELINE! Reviews and location look good. Hope it is a pleasant stay for my family.
