  4. Without a listing in BB I was just looking for some clues. Since it is just an overnight stop, the specific hotel was not important. The HW recommendations and the ratings were the deciding factors. It is a HW weekend special. The same listing for Monday had a price of $97. The regular prices are not different on the weekend.
  5. HW listed the regular rate as $107 on Monday. I found the Fairfield was $107 regular rate. The next day it said the regular rate on HW was $114. I looked up the Fairfield again and sure enough, it also went up. I got the one I thought I would. It was 100% recommended with review Categories all at 4.5 Amenities shown were: Business Center, Free Internet, Free Breakfast, Free Parking, Indoor pool, Pool(s), and Self-service laundry. In "my account" after booking Internet Access was added.
  6. Taxes were $15.32 Amenities - indoor or outdoor pool, pets allowed, fitness center, free parking, free internet, free breakfast and business center Bid made on 10/17
  7. I have never had such a small discount, but all the hotels right around the airport showed no availability on their web sites. I was rejected at 114 and was offered 134 (Their web site price) I got it half way between at 124. Bid made on 9/21
  8. Free Internet, Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Fitness Center Tax $21.38
  9. pl Express Deal Restaurant, Airport shuttle, Free Internet, Free Parking, Business Center, Fitness Center, Outdoor Pool. taxes $20.63
  10. The list is: Resort, Free parking, free breakfast, free internet, near beach, free food and drinks, A la carte dining, free water activities, free entertainment, free activities, children's activities, fitness center, pool(s), restaurant(s), self service laundry, internet access, golf nearby, tennis nearby, spa services. Tax recovery charges and fees add $67.60 for the 5 days.
  11. The amenities seem to have been lost. They are: free parking, free breakfast, free internet, resort, near beach, free food and drinks, a la carte dining, free water activities, and free entertainment. The price was $230 for Apr. 26,2014 through May 1,2014.
  12. The resort is RIU Palace Riviera Maya All Inclusive. Booked 2/26/2014 "Near Beach" seems to be an understatement.
  13. We did stay at the Ocean Breeze for two nights. It is a small resort on a very large resort property. It has a lobby, pool, restaurant and snack bar and that is about it. However, you can take a cart over to the Mayan Palace/Grand Mayan area and use their facilities. The carts are actually Mayan Palace carts that extend their trip a little to serve the Ocean Breeze. We asked about an upgrade to all-inclusive. It was $99 pp/pd. The rooms are new and very nice. It is separated by enough jungle to appear completely isolated. It is laid-back and quiet, but you can go over to a very large active resort area with lots of people and amenities. We were given a more expensive room with a refrigerator on the top floor. It may be a good alternative to the Mayan Palace/Grand Mayan and paying high prices for food. The All-inclusive is the Ocean Breeze restaurant , which was pretty good, and a poolside restaurant by the Mayan palace. The confirmation we got a week before no longer showed it in Playa Del Carmen, but in Riviera Maya North, which is correct.
  14. Bid $57 after they offered $63 and was rejected. Would have tried less but I was down to my last re-bid.Gem show in town probably raised the price.
  15. I wrote back to Customer Support to thank them for their time. They wrote back and now informed me that the reservation to Ocean Breezes was not cancelled and that I can still use it. We may, even though it is not where we want to be. It can pay to be nice to customer support.
  16. Priceline came through. They admitted the Ocean Breeze is not in Playa Del Carmen and are returning my money (taxes plus $2). They had a difficult time with the voucher I got from Priceline Cruises which was complicated by expiring a day and a half after I bid. I didn't want an expired voucher back. They gave me a new voucher, which is good for this entire year. Now if you search for hotels in PDC (not name your own price), you do not see the Ocean Breeze as you did before. It is shown in Maroma, which should be Riviera Maya North zone. I am not sure why they did not just give me another 3 star in PDC, but this is even better. I have not had a problem before this and would add that the service I've received from Priceline Cruises has been exceptional. I noticed that they also listed the Aventura Cove Palace as in Puerto Morelos. I stayed their once. The Aventura Cove Palace is in ….....Aventura on the other side of PDC. I will let them know.
  17. By the way, $71 was the lowest I could bid. I bid $1 and the voucher automatically added $70 to the bid. The amount Priceline would accept is most likely lower. I was rejected at $71 for a 3.5 Star. The bid was Dec 30.
  18. Riviera Maya is divided into 3 zones, RM-Playa Del Carmen, RM-North - Puerto Morelos, and RM South - Akumal-Tulum. The hotel is in the north zone. The Playa Del Carmen zone is about 9 miles from one end to the other total.
  19. Priceline's confirmation says it is 12 miles north of PDC. The reservation person at the hotel also said that the reservation was made 12 miles north of PDC. I saw some maps showing Ocean Breezes in PDC, but as far as I can tell, there is no Ocean Breezes in PDC, and if there is, I don't know where it is and the reservation was not for there.
  20. I made a bid that was accepted by Priceline for Playa Del Carmen, 3 star for $71/day. They gave me the Ocean Breeze. However the Ocean Breeze is not in Playa Del Carmen. It is 12 miles north, according to Priceline's own description and verified by the hotel referencing the hotel reference number given to me by Priceline. It is way off the Priceline map for PDC. I contacted Priceline and they seemed to agree with me and turned it over to "Customer relations". They are ignoring me. They did mention cancelling the the reservation, but they had no way to give me back the Priceline voucher I used to pay for it. That is $140 of the $142 bid. Getting it back would not help since it had an expiration date that passed since bidding. I also sent an E-Mail to them stating that I followed all their rules (Made a bid for a Playa Del Carmen hotel). They accepted that bid. Their next step should be to for Priceline to give me a hotel in PDC. They are not doing that. So far they are also ignoring the E-Mail. At least the hotel was not in Fargo! The bid was for 2 days March 9-11,2013.
  21. Priceline has now added some guaranteed amenities to some star levels in some areas. For example, bidding a resort (4.5 star) level in Cancun - Riviera Maya (all three areas), will guarantee all-inclusive. Riviera Maya North guarantees AI in star levels Resort, 2 star and 2.5 star, but not 3, 3.5 or 4. If you want an AI, be sure there are no checks in non-AI star levels in all area checked. If bidding 2.5 star-AI, according to the terms and conditions, they can upgrade you from a 2.5 to a 3 star, but only if the requirements of the 2.5 star are met and you did not check 3 star. Be carefull and read the terms and conditions.
  22. The BetterBidding list shows it in the North Zone, so HW must consider it to be there. It is identical to the Aqua Cancun in rating and amenities. The only clue I could pick up was that if you go to the Le Meridien web site it gives you a lot of bed choices. The Aqua Cancun site does not. HW shows bed choice. My guess is Le Meridien.
  23. I got the Rui palace with the same hotwire amenities on June 10-18 for $191. The one that was close was Dreams, but does not match. I think it is pretty likely that it is the RIU Palace.
  24. Found a 3.5* Hotwire Hotel in Fort Lauderdale all of September at $25/night. It matches Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek. It was not what I was looking for, so did not book. Thought someone might be interested.
  25. Booked 6/17/2011, Taxes and fees = $23.16 Tried a $100 bid, Rejected PL offered a "free" rebid for $125 (Rejected by me) Added a zone and bid $105 - Accepted. Bid was to add a day to our stay. Used the bonus coupon PL sent to us for $5/day. Bid was $100 plus $5 for the coupon. Vacation evolved into a 2 day PL stay, 8 day HW stay at the RIU Palace, another two day PL stay, and ending in a 1 day PL stay. All three PL stays are The Fiesta Americana Coral Beach.
