This is a new 3* property for the Phoenix > Downtown Scottsdale - Old Town area. It was formerly the Best Western Papago Inn & Resort. Magnuson Hotel Papago Inn 7017 East McDowell Road Scottsdale AZ 85257 This property caught me by surprise as I was trying to get a 3* in Camelback Corridor - Biltmore - Arcadia or a known/listed 3* in any of the three Scottsdale areas. A bit disappointed with the looks of the place. On the up-side they are renovating the rooms, it's a quick 10-15 minute drive from Sky Harbor, and a decent hot breakfast is included. Bid #1 $55 Camelback Corridor Bid #2 $67 Camelback + Paradise Valley (which only has 3.5* up) Bid #3 $74 Camelback + Central Scottsdale = counter-offered $122 Bid #4 $77 Camelback + Downtown Scottsdale $77/night x 2 nights + $30.38 taxes/fees = $184.38 total Not much of a savings as Priceline is offering $87/night and other sites $96/night for the same dates. Will try to be a bit more careful next time...

After a beautiful weekend in NYC, had to stay book a last minute stay in Stamford due to car troubles. Didn't have access to desktop PC and it was getting late, so I downloaded Priceline app to my Android phone. Worked out okay, got $45 on first bid for Hilton Stamford Hotel & Executive Meeting Center, but noticed two issues with the Android app: (1) couldn't utilize BB re-bidding method as it only lets you choose one area at a time (2) couldn't utilize BB PRICELINE link Anyone know a way around either of these drawbacks? If it wasn't so late I would have tried my phone's built-in browser but was afraid of running into problems.

Bid on 4* in CPS ESB MTW MTW TS starting at $70 and won on bid #5 at $90. Total with taxes and fees came to $334.71, representing a savings of 38% off the hotel web site total rate of $540.91. This hotel is ranked #48 of 430 hotels at TripAdvisor so hopefully will meet or beat our expectations. I used the PRICELINE link as always.

Priceline Hotel List - Connecticut Update Holiday Inn New London is no longer affiliated with Holiday Inn as of 12/31/10 and has been renamed Hotel Latitude 41. I assume this also means they are no longer a Priceline hotel?

Are you aware that the Renaissance is 4* while Hilton and Marriott Downtown are both 3.5*? With 3 re-bid zones available, trying for 4* allows a total 8 bids using the full re-bidding strategy explained here here and here.

We liked this property so much the first time around we're staying again two weeks later. Plus it's a quick 8 minute hop on the highway to the nicest Gold's Gym in New England, the one on Division Rd in East Greenwich. Providence is 20 minutes away. Thanks for adding it to the Rhode Island hotel list page. Property is actually located just south of Coventry in West Greenwich. We had an excellent stay at this relatively new property which opened in the summer of 2008. Hallways and rooms are clean and modern -- almost as nice as the Marriot Renaissance Providence I dare say. Complimentary breakfast included scrambled eggs, home fries, biscuits with sausage gravy, cereal, yogurt, toast, muffins, fuit, pancakes/waffles, coffee and juices. Staff was professional and friendly. This is a great hotel.
