  1. Used the PRICELINE link on this page and bid my way up from 30 over 36 to 38, using Parker as a rebid zone Did not find any other wins in Lake Havasu, so it would be great if someone could add this to the general AZ hotel list Thanks Nounou Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $38.00 Subtotal: $38.00 Taxes & Fees: $11.94 Total Charges*: $49.94
  2. A New Hotel to add to our list Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $57.00 Subtotal: $114.00 Taxes & Fees: $24.54 Total Charges*: $138.54 We probably overbid, but were running out of rebids (started at 3.5 and 3* with a similar budget of up to 57 and got rejected) The hotels webside has them for 59$, so it's not a killer deal. Oh well, sometimes you win, sometimes you loose. At least it's some new info for the board
  3. Started with the link on this site, Selected Santa Monica, 3* for 71 $, rejected added Lawndale and bid 76 and got it Could have probably saved a couple of $ by working my way up from 71, as this is still almot a week out, but did not have the patience to split or rebid every day Very happy with the deal I got. Thanks as always for all the helpful info on this site Nounou
  4. Haven't posted in a while, but finally had another chance to bid. We decided on a spontaneous weekend trip to Tucson. Here it goes Used the PRICELINE link from this site. Started with 3* Tucson East 37 Rebid with La Paloma at 42 Started over Tucson East and North at 46 got counter offer to up 13 added La Paloma and bid 50 and got the Doubletree Reid Park :) Sorry, forgot to mention in topic line (as I said haven't posted in a while) :) Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $50.00 Subtotal: $50.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $14.23 Total Charges*: $64.23 Thanks as always for the good advise on this site Nounou
  5. I am going to Vegas for a concert on short notice and am in the process of finding a deal for one night 1/19-20. The Golden Nugget in Downtown has a 109 USD rate as my backup. I have been bidding with various rebid zones North and South strip for 5* up to 148 and for 4*up to 106 When I include Fremont in my 4* rebids (was the case up to 87 USD) I keep getting counteroffers at 109, for the strip offers the counter offers are at 124. I am trying to get the best bang for the buck As I am going alone a nice Strip hotel would we appreciated, but I don't want to bid more than I have so far. Any ideas or insights? I am almost ready to just book the GN at 109. But maybe someone could point me to a better deal. I know it's the weekend.... Thanks in advance Nounou
  6. Started off with Savingsbarn.com Bid for 15th-16th March for one night: First bid 40$ Berlin East then 45 $ Kurf
  7. Using the savingsbarn link, I tried both Nice and Cannes for 4* Hotels over the last few days starting at 90 and going up in 1$ steps using variations of rebids in the case of Nice and date changes in the case of Cannes. Had bid for Nice up to 101 without success Got Cannes for 100$ (counter offers at 98 and 99 to up by 22 $, which I did not accept) Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$100.00 Subtotal: US$100.00 Taxes and Service Fees: US$14.83 Total Charges for Add. Night Res.: US$114.83 Also used the "extend your stay" option to add an additional night at the same rate Their best price on their website was 110 EUROS for my dates (roughly 140 USD) Nounou
  8. bid for 3* with various rebids from 33-46 then lowered to 2,5 bid 45 at SLT (got counteroffer to up 13$) added NLT bid 46 and got it Your Offer Price: $46.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $46.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.91 Total Charges*: $58.91 Not that sweet a deal (their website offers rooms at 59$) as the Reno one I got earlier, but I was prepared to take the risk (had run out of rebids on 3* and didn't want to start over tomorrow) Oh well, at least this adds a new hotel to the list. The website looks quite nice too. As always started out on savingsbarn.com Nounou
  9. I had shopped around for a while and couldn't find a really good deal so I gave it a shot at priceline bid 4* South at 26 (got a "too low a price" message), still insisted added DT at 27 still rejected started over bid 3* at South 28 rejected, got counter offer to up 7$ added DT at 29 $ and got it Your Offer Price: $29.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $58.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.15 Total Charges*: $73.15 Rate on their website currently at 65 $ I'm quite happy! Started out with savingsbarn.com as always! Thanks Nounou
  10. Normally I don't use Priceline for Vegas, but this time I just could not find any good deals via my other sources. After unsuccesfully bidding for 4* properties on the strip, I decided to go for Dowtown 3*, which is fine with me as I generally prefer DT to the Strip. I knew I was likely to get the GN, which I have stayed at before. Started at 32 got counter offer at 52 used various rebid zones (Nellis and Henderson) to go up to 42, always got counter offers at 52 Then I changed my dates and went from 43 to 47 in 1$ steps, as I have plenty of time to rebid. Got it at 47 (lowest deal around that I could find was 69 on their website). Check-In Date: Sunday, March 18, 2007 Check-Out Date: Wednesday, March 21, 2007 Hotel Name: Golden Nugget Hotel And Casino 129 East Fremont Las Vegas, Nevada 89101 702-385-7111 Your Offer Price: $47.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $141.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $22.96 Total Charges*: $163.96 I have the option to extend, so it does look like a decent, not super, but decent deal to me. Thanks as always for the support provided on this board. I did use the savingsbarn link when bidding on priceline. Nounou
  11. Hi there, finally got it! Did some more research here and there and also looked into the hotwire offers (3* at 68 and 2,5* at 57) I then decided I would try again on priceline: going up to 80 for 4*, 70for 3* and 55 for 2,5* If none of that worked I would have settled with the 2,5* at 57 with hotwire bid 4* up to 80, all bids rejected bid 3* up to 70, again all bids rejecte then bid 2,5* up to 55 (started at 53 added Zone bid 54 added zone bid 55) and got the Holiday Inn on 4048 Cerrillos Road Your Offer Price: $55.00 Extend Your Stay Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $55.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.61 Total Charges: $70.61 Not the best deal of my life, but at 98 plus tax (as on hotel website and via various search engines) for the regular rate not too bad either.... Thanks for bearing with me on this one. I DID use Savingsbarn.com Nounou
  12. I've tried my luck again with a 4* up to 74, 3* up to 67 and a 2,5 up to 53, at 50 I received a counteroffer to up by 14 I'm sorry, but I don't like betterchecker that much, I usually use a search engine to compare prices and then book via one of your links if I can. I'll look into the hotwire offer. Thanks Nounou
  13. Hi, another update. Unfortunately they would not let me do the price guarantee, for some stupid excuse... So I had to cancel and book with hrs.com Sorry for that, I guess you only get credit once a stay is fully paid, not only booked? Right? Well, it was worth a try. Nounou
  14. Hi, I'm up to 49 USD now for a 2,5* and up to 62 for a 3* Probably it's better to book somthing directly. Not sure. Nounou
  15. Hi, thanks for adding the link. The deal I had found was on another website, but it's not available anymore. I have bid for a 3* up to 56, for a 2,5 up to 42 for a 2* up to 42 Not sure what to do, as I see others have gotten deals for less then what I bid. Maybe it's because of the date (3rd July). However I don't get the impression though from other sides that hotels are massively booked on that date. Is it worthwhile waiting a few more days? I can always book some 2* place for around 65-70 incl. taxes as a fall back option. Nounou
  16. Just wanted to let you know that I booked the Best Western Pony Soldier Inn for 67.50 USD +tax via the BW link on the support links page. I had found a good rate on hrs.com (45 USD +tax), which unfortunately is not featured on the support links page. So I booked via BW to help support this site and will hopefully be able to do a best rate guarantee. On priceline I bid up to 52 for a 3*, 47 on a 2,5 and 36 on a 2* over the last few days. All rejected. So I figured I might as well book a hotel directly. Nounou
  17. Bid 3*SFP 35 rejected + CR 38 rejected 3*SFP+SFS 40 rejected added CR 44 rejected started over with 2* SFP 30 rej. + SFS 31 rej 2* SF + CR 33 rej added SFS 34 an rejected again I have plenty of time left I can get the Park Inn Suites at 57 incl. all taxes and fees So I don't see myself going much higher than 40 on a 2 or 2.5* We'll be arriving late and leaving early Any suggestions? I did use savingsbarn.com Thanks Nounou
  18. Bid DT 28 rejected added East bid 30 rejected Bid DT+Rio 32 rejected got counter offer to up 8$ bid DT+RIO+East 34 rejected ST+St. A 35 rejected DT+St.A+East 36 rejected Dt+St.A+Rio 37 and got it Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $37.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.09 Total Charges: $49.09 Did use savingsbarn.com Thanks Nounou
  19. It's with Alamo. And no, we're not going to be 19 days in Vegas (although I wouldn't mind :) ), we'll actually be driving around quite a bit. This is why I have been looking at places like Flagstaff and SLC as posted in other parts of this Board. Do you think 20$ are an ok deal? Take Care Nounou
  20. Probably overbid, I was tired and not thinking straight and wanted to try my chances at 18 as I have plenty of time left....and a good deal backup reservation for an economy I was planning to do a counter upgrade for... Not sure why I bid 20, just wanted to be sure to get an SUV upon arrival and not having to negotiate an upgrade... Well, that's how it turned out.... Did use Savingsbarn.com Your Offer Price: $20.00 Total Rental Days: 19 Subtotal: $380.00 Taxes & Fees: $217.66 Total Charges: $597.66 Thanks Nounou
  21. Hi, thanks for your answer. If I book via Hotels.com or any other site that's on your support links, I will use the links here. 52 (or 52,78 for that matter) is their all in price. Now if I bid up to 45 on priceline, the pricline bid including taxes and fees would come to the same. Do you think the hotels coming up would beat the Highland country Inn quality wise?
  22. Hotels.com currently shows the Highland Country Inn for 52$ I had checked via several websites before and could find several (Microtel, Best Western Pony Soldier and Best Value Inn) hotels all for around 58-59 What do you think would be a good Minimum bid? Why do I keep getting messages for that destination only? Does this mean anything? Thanks in advance Nounou
  23. I received another follow up for this bid. I have tried several places over the last few days, but I only get the follow up mail for Sedona... Try Your Hotel Request Again Since it has been at least one day since your last request, you can try your exact same hotel request again right now by clicking here. Here's a few simple tips: Shop Around Find the best available rates for your dates and city. Then name a price that is 40% less at priceline. Try Additional Neighborhoods Choose as many city neighborhoods as you can to maximize your chances of getting your price. Don't Give Up If you don't get your hotel, don't give up. You can still get great deals by changing your options and trying again. Any suggestions ? Thanks Nounou
  24. I have tried several bids over the last few days, without success 2,5* Flagstaff 36 added Bellmont 38 started with Flag and Sedona at 40 added Bellmont at 41 all rejected then I tried the same with 2* F 31 added Belmont bid 30 rejected again (I figured hotels would be cheaper in Belmont than Flagstaff hence I did not increase but decrease) Then I waited 24 hours and tried this F 33 added Belmont bid 31 rejected again Did not add Sedona, as I don't want to go there, just need a night in Flagstaff on the road. Is there anything going on on that particular date or am I being unrealistic with my budget? I can get what looks like an acceptable 2* for 58 $ with a regular reservation from another website. So if I add taxes and fees this does not look like a good place to bid on priceline. Or did I miss a point? Priceline keeps sending me "follow up emails" so I guess I must be pretty close, or does this happen randomly? I have been bidding on several other places lately and have only received those follow ups for Flagstaff. :) "Try Your Hotel Request Again Since it has been at least one day since your last request, you can try your exact same hotel request again right now by clicking here" Thanks in advance for your help Nounou
  25. Oh, d'uh!!! *lol* Sorry for that! I got the Hilton! Hilton Salt Lake City Center 255 South West Temple Salt Lake City, Utah 84101 ;-) Nounou
