  1. I was bidding on 3 rooms, and my dates were fixed. I started my bidding in all zones at $32 for a 4*, and simply added lower star levels without changing my bid until I received this 2*. The total for all 3 rooms with taxes and fees for one night was $120.18. Used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link. Thanks to all who keep this site going.
  2. I started bidding on the 3.5* level in Duluth at $50. Using my free rebids, I bid in $5 increments to $65. I had no luck, so I added the 3* level and lowered my bid to $50. I immediately got the Radisson Harborview for 1 night, the total with fees came to $64.14. From looking at the previous winning bids for Duluth, $50 seems to be the minimum for a 3*, but next time I'd try starting at $40. I used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link. Thanks to all who keep this thing going.
  3. The amenities were listed as follows: Complimentary Breakfast, Pool(s,) Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby The total with taxes and fees was $130.91 for two nights. I saw that when I did a search that included Friday night the price jumped from $57 to $63 for what appeared to be the same motel. Used the BetterBidding HOTWIRE link.
  4. The most interesting thing about this bid is that the previous win for the Fairfield Inn/Grand Forks was in March 2011 for $37, and it was rated a 2*. I guess it's been re-rated as a 2.5*. I won on my first bid of $52, which I was surprised. Hotwire also had a 2.5* listed for $54. Most rates on the motels websites of the Fairfield, Springhill Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Country Inn and Suites, and the C'mon Inn were $99-$119. Total with taxes/fees was $65.04. Used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link. Thanks to all who keep this site going.
  5. Amenities for this motel were: Suite Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby We've stayed here before--very nice hotel--all rooms are two room suites. Total for two nights with taxes was $150.17. I would love to try to win this motel via Priceline, unfortunately there is another 3* hotel in the same zone that is overated, and I don't want to end up there again. (That hotel is the Best Western Kelly Inn in Plymouth) I used the BetterBidding link to HOTWIRE. Thanks to all who keep this site going!
  6. Here are the amenities for the Baymont above: Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Well, I wasn't wrong about the star rating--definitely not a 3-star. A 2-star would have been accurate. Thanks, Milt
  7. sorry-- here are the amenities listed for the Crowne Plaza above: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Thanks!
  8. The total with taxes and fees for two nights was $148.50. I'm not sure about this reservation, this motel seems overrated at a 3*, but we'll see how it goes. There was also a 2.5* available at $73/night, which I assume is either the Hampton Inn or the Country Inn and Suites. I would rather have had one of them instead. Used the BetterBidding HOTWIRE link. Thanks to all who keep this site going.
  9. The total with taxes/fees was $69.50. I'm sure I could have gotten cheaper on Priceline, but I was travelling with the kids and wanted to guarantee sleeping space for all four of us. Used the BetterBidding link. Thanks to all who keep this site going! Have a Merry Christmas!
  10. Actually, this was the Best Western Kelly Inn in Plymouth, (Minneapolis Northwest Zone) not the the one in St Paul. BTW, it is rated as a 3*, and at best should be a 2.5*. Overall, not a great deal, even at a $54 bid. Thanks for your work on the site.
  11. Ok, so I probably overbid on this motel. I needed a motel for the same night, and was bidding on all zones in the Minneapolis area with a 3* EXCEPT Minneapolis Northwest because I wanted to avoid the Best Western Kelly Inn-Plymouth. I had just spent two nights there and was not impressed--it is definitely overated at a 3*. Anyhow, I knew rates were high and started bidding at $60 and raised it by $5 each time. I got confused on my free rebids and started getting "duplicate requests" messages from Priceline, so I clicked the "select all zones" button with my $80 bid, forgetting that I hadn't bid in the Northwest zone at a lower price. So I ended up at the Northland Inn in the Brooklyn Park area of Minneapolis. At least I didn't get the Best Western! The Northland Inn turned out to be a very nice hotel other than slow elevators. It was my first time there, and the rooms are all two-room suites. With all taxes and fees it cost $98 and change. My first *fail* on Priceline! But I used the Betterbidding PRICELINE link! Thanks!
  12. I was bidding on all 3* in the Minneapolis area. I started bidding at $39, and increased my bids by 1$ using free rebids until I got it for a bid of $54. This is is 3 night stay, total with all taxes and fees was $192.09. This is the most I have ever paid for a 3* in Minneapolis--but the state fair is going on, plus colleges starting again seemed to have pushed the price up. Used the Betterbidding PRICELINE link. Thanks!
  13. I was bidding on a 2.5 star in the following zones: Airport/MOA, Bloomington West, Eagan, Eden Prairie, Minneapolis West, Roseville, St Paul Northeast, and Woodbury/Oakdale. I started bidding at $30 and increased my bid by $1 using free rebids until I got the Best Western Regency Plaza in Oakdale for $40. One night total of $52.50 with taxes/fees. Used the PRICELINE link on betterbidding. Thanks again!
  14. Started bidding at $47. Increased my bid by $1 each time with free rebids until $60. Total for 2 nights with fees was $144.02. Thanks again to all who make this site possible. Used the betterbidding PRICELINE link.
  15. Started bidding at $50 and was rejected. Added Hector area (free rebid) and raised bid to $55 got the Hampton Inn for Thursday night April 27. Total with all fees was $68.43. This was a repeat bid that I had from two weeks ago. I wanted to see if I could get it for $51-54, but I'm out of time. Used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link. Thanks!
  16. I actually had to cancel this reservation due to my daughter's illness, so I didn't get to use this motel. I've never tried to cancel a Priceline reservation, but was able to do so with little trouble. Priceline charged me a $25 cancellation fee, which I thought was very fair. Is this normal?
  17. Started bidding at $50 for a 3*. Added a 2.5*. No luck, so I added Hector/airport area and raised bid to $55. I received the Hampton Inn for a total of $68.43 with taxes and fees. Cheapest rate on their website was $99 +tax. Hotwire had a 2.5* listed at $58+ fees for the same time. I did use the PRICELINE link from this website. I just found this site yesterday. I had been using uhhh---another bid posting site and found this one has much more activity in the areas I travel. Thanks to all who keep this site going.
