Nov 16 for one night. It was a a grand old style hotel, and I was most pleased. Nice amenities, including robes, and the room faced the Fairmount with bay views. It turned out to be a terrific deal, and the only drawback is the climb up the hill from Union Square-- but if you have good walking shoes and take your time it is worth it. Due to meeting changes after my arrival I ended up staying two more nights at the Grand Hyatt at Union Square. It's location was more central but it was not as plush. Paid around the same thing again thru Priceline. All in all, both hotels were winners- just different. I give the nod to the Renaissance for ambience but the Hyatt for location. No more aiport hotels around SFO if I can help it!
