I personally would avoid all but SAV Airport if you are with your family. I will stay almost ANYwhere when I'm alone on a business trip but with the fam is with me - safe area and clean hotel. You can find prices withing $5 or same at SAV exit and there is a TON here to eat and outlet mall if needed. Just betterbidded my hotel this morning and sitting here at the Wingate at SAV Airport exit for $63 (+$4 fee and taxes). Called other hotels before booking and all where $99+ +taxes. Clean, 2 doubles, breakfast. Have a great trip!

shooting for a 3* West of Savannah near the SAV airport. Used Savannah North - Port Wentworth and Savannah West - Garden City with only 2.5* to bump up my bid. Be aware that the Wingate charges a $4 "hotel fee" that doesn't show up anywhere in the bidding process. Still a good price BUT not happy with hidden fees by Wyndham.

Was disappointed that this hotel was not listed in your 2.5* list. I know this hotel and it is not nearly as good as other 2.5* listed.

had 3 rebid zones including Sav Airport bid 55, 60 then won on 65. saved $17 over AAA rate on Choice Hotels site.

couldn't get Priceline bids to work in and around Times Square / Theatre district for 4* at $150/nt. found $139 price in this zone, checked hotel list and confirmed all were adequate and located in reasonable area. Thanks BetterBidding for all the info to make an educated decision.

Tried and tried over several days to get this booked. went up to $160 but it didn't take. Looked at PRICELINE EXPRESSDeals and then Moved over to Hotwire and found a 3.5* at $139. Checked HW Hotel List and all 3.5*s were better options than lowering * rating on Priceline. Posted HW win over there. Thanks for the help!!!!!! Great forum! Here is my exact order of preference: Times Square/Theatre District Midtown West Madison Square Garden Empire State Building Central Park South Midtown East Upper Eastside Upper Westside Thanks for the help. would rather spend $150 or less and not stay in TS. Nearby zone at lower price is preferable.

NEED 4*+ in NYC for 7/30-8/2/13 Prefer TS then MSG, MTS, MTW, Empire, CPS, UES budget is less than $150 before tax. Was hopeful seeing MTW Sheraton New York Times Square and New York Hilton Midtown wins at $110-160 recently. Bid before and used add a zone with lesser *s and was unsuccessful from $110-140 with 6 rebids. I have not seen the Close Browser and re-click PRICELINE link before. I tried this but it said I already bid and had to wait 24 hrs. Read through forums. Any other tips on a successful win on the above? Thanks!

didn't see any hotels down I-75 in GA between Macon and Valdosta. (Tifton is listed.) Bid $45 and was accepted.

:) got the same rate as I and others have gotten recently for 3* in Macon. Started over with 2.5* (recent wins here showed $38) selected Macon North - bid at $34 added Byron - bid $36 added Macon NW - bid $38 Accepted in Macon North at Wingate at $38

shooting for Pineville area, determined Ihad 3 shots Started at $45 with 3* in Pineville, added Fort Mill that only have 2* and below, $48 added 2.5* w same areas selected, $50 and got it. Not my favorite hotel chain and this one is getting a little long in the tooth. but it's half the price that's shown on Priceline. Thanks guys for the forum and thanks members for the posts.

Here at the hotel now. (trying to use your site more, attempting to book weekend for my wife and I). Wingate Macon on Riverside is very good hotel for $38+TTT. rated at 2.5* and I would agree. probably 5-7 years old but kept up and clean. Staff is VERY nice and extremely helpful. While checking in I asked about a gym or Y association locally that they had a relationship with that guest could use. Something more than the hotel fitness center and pool. Front desk staff told me about The Wellness Center that was <1 mile away. She said I could go online and print off a free one day guest pass. When I got up to my room, the phone rang (unusual these days with cell phones on the hip) and she had gone online found the pass and already printed it for me. GREAT place to excercise and workout while in town. Not sure if you can use the one day guest pass more than once though.

I used to get the Westin for $55 which was a great deal at Atlanta Perimeter zone BUUUTTT I'm trying to book that now and see that the W (now Perimeter Suites) and Crowne Plazas are getting all the 3.5-4* wins and the reviews look horrible. I am avoiding that area for now on Priceline b/c I do not want to "win" either of those. This is why I would not pay $2 more for a 4* in Perimeter zone.

Wanted Piper Glen area 2.5* (Residence Inn). Seeing $45 wins here, I bid $42. No go. asked me to raise it $15 to $57 and I declined. Fort Mill area only has 2* and below so I added that and bumped bid to $45 and no go. Added South Park area that included 2.5*, 3* and 3.5*. This was acceptable area for where we needed to be. Bid $47 and won at the Courtyard by Marriott Southpark. 2 rooms for 2 nights. Hotel website says $89/nt.
