  2. Thanks for this post. I just booked it too. 7/29/16 for 1 night. Yes I clicked the board HOTWIRE link. Excellent deal. Couldn't believe it had 100% and was only $101. I was concerned it was TGTBT. Very happy!
  3. I just have always wanted to stay there. I would prefer the dolphin but I don't really like double beds, swan has queens.

  6. Well I booked to pickup a midsize in MIA this past week. I had shopped around and found that the name your price was a bit cheaper than other options. I went for it. Ended up with Hertz. However on my travel day my flight was canceled, I had no choice but to get a flight to FLL. Hertz wouldnt let me pick up in FLL since I booked with priceline. I took an uber to MIA so I could get the car. Uber was great, only 30 minutes and a good deal too. Highly recommend uber. Get to the Hertz counter and they had no cars. Despite me prepaying and arriving after the time specified for pickup. It was pretty much just like Pop Copy, they didn't give a crap. I definitely felt like Steve Martin at this point in my day. They had no idea when they were going to get a car to give me. There where a lot of people waiting for cars already, although some people left the counter with rental agreements during the time I was waiting for a manager to talk to and other people were waiting for cars too, so obviously they had cars for some people. It was pretty ridiculous. I called priceline to bitch at them. They said I could go somewhere else and priceline would pay the difference between what I found somewhere else and the priceline that I had paid. I found just walking up to the counters you could get better prices than what is online. I ended up paying $60 more for the 4 days than what I had done with Priceline. Online it was over $100 more. I need to submit the receipt though to get the refund. I am pretty sure Hertz figured they could take higher dollar business from non priceline customers for a bigger profit. Any how, would not recommend Hertz and would be very leary of using the name your own price for cars.

  8. Stayed here a few weeks ago. Can't remember the features, its the only 3 star in Hotwire right now for Chambersburg. The location of the hotel was okay, its old though. Double beds were small when you try and fit 2 people in them. Bed was a little saggy. Price was good though. Would probably try something else next time.
  9. Had 100% rating. Price was dirt cheap. Pretty happy that there are 2 queen beds in the rooms instead of double beds. Free parking Free breakfast Indoor pool(s) Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Business center Self-service laundry Accessibility In-room accessibility
  10. Just booked 3 star holiday in express in Chambersburg, PA. There were 2 3 star hotels available, I am pretty sure the cheaper $64 one was the 4 points sheraton. I wanted to stay in the Holiday Inn Express because other people I know are staying there this weekend. The HIEXP had a 100% satisfaction rate sheraton a 75% rate. $222 with tax.
  11. I decided to not book through HOTWIRE or PRICELINE and found a room on another site. I was about to book a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal with PL for a 4.5 star miami beach room that would have been about $190 per night + tax and fees after coupon, but last week when I went to book it the price jumped up by about $50 per night. It was kind of annoying because when I pulled it up it was the lower price but upon clicking on the room I got the "sorry its sold out" message. I tried PL bidding and got up to $190 per night and then gave up. There does seem to be a science though about when to book a room on hotwire or PL.
  12. I am looking at booking a room in Miami 8/21-8/23/14. I am trying to figure out when the best time is to book. I am about 1 month out right now, I am considering a 5 star in Miami Beach. Price now is $213 per night. Features Free Internet Resort Beachfront hotel Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Tennis Nearby My concerns on when to book factors are Price going up if I dont book or going down after I book. Then of course if there is a hurricane and I can't or dont want to go I am out of a wad of cash since with Hotwire canceling is not possible. So my options are book howire now and cross my fingers. or Book a cancellable room in my price range and then watch hotwire and see what happens maybe a week or so out from my trip. I recently took a trip to Baltimore and watching the dates on hotwire for a 4star was only $95 per night and then at about 3 weeks out, the 4 star prices shot up by about 50%.
  13. Holiday Inn Universty Area Charlottesville 3 star Charlottesville 1901 Emmet Street, Charlottesville, VA 22901 Room Subtotal: $74.00 Taxes & Fees: $16.21 Total Charged to Card: $90.21 Had looked around and 3* express was $86, also 3* was the same on HOTWIRE too. It's a football weekend at HooVeeA, but I am not there for that, I am there for girls softball.
  14. FWIW I stayed in the Cavalier last july 4th and 5th with a discount rate. I was in the old hotel on the hill. I loved every minute there. The room was perfect, it had been renovated fairly recently. I loved the old vintageness of the hotel and it's artwork and architecture. Parking was not really an issue, sometimes we found a close spot and other times a short walk through the lot. The breakfast was also good to very good. I did not spend any time in the newer hotel across the street. I loved the place so much that I booked 5 nights there starting July 16th. However they called me today and said the hotel on the hill was going to be renovated during the time I was to stay in july. So they offered to move me to the newer place next to the ocean for the same rate. I am not really thrilled about that much at all, I was really looking forward to going back to the old hotel. So now I am shopping again.
  15. Just got home from the trip. It was a nice hotel. I had never stayed at any la quinta before. The breakfast was very good compared to most other free breakfast hotels. The location was pretty good too, it was in the parking lot of a pretty nice shopping mall. I wouldn't hesitate to go back there again.
  16. 3* not 5* amenities Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness Center High-Speed Internet Access Has 95% satisfaction rating. $71.03 with tax
  17. No you don't have to accept the counter offer. However, my .05cents worth of advice, since you have 2 adults and 3 children there is no guarantee you will get any of your seats together. So, that said, how important is that? I was looking in to using PL for air tickets myself for a party of 3 just now. I have used PL for hotels, but not airlines. I flew on jetblue last trip, they let you select your seats online when you are purchasing tickets.
  18. Country Inn and Suites By Carlson Williamsburg Historic Area 95% satisfaction rating. $51 for 12.31.2012 1 night. $62.66 total with taxes. I have stayed there before. It's an okay place. I searched online, the price of this hotel is $68. I had tried bidding on Priceline earlier tonight without success up to $49 which would have put me at the same price as hotwire with taxes. I figured that I would try the hotwire since it had the 95% satisfaction report. 3* Historic Area Free Parking Free Breakfast Indoor pool(s) Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking
  19. What about this one? 3* hotel Colonial Williamsburg Area Hotel. Ammenities: Fitness Center, Pool(s) $54, says 95% satisfaction rate. Yes I went through the HOTWIRE link to find it.
  20. Thanks, I was thinking it was the powhattan. After reading reviews of that place online I don't think I want to stay there.
