  1. Holiday Inn Santa Monica Beach at the Pier Selected amenities include: Near Beach, Pool(s), Fitness Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service).
  2. Holiday Inn Santa Monica Beach at the Pier 1 room @ $87.00 per night x 4 nights $348.00 Hotel Taxes and fees: $55.95 Hotel Subtotal $403.95 Additional Savings $40.00 Total Price $363.95 We managed to use the "GIFTCARD06" code for an extra $10 off per night a 2nd time with my wife creating a new account for herself by logging into Hotwire through her work pc, using a different credit card, and her work phone number. The only thing that was the same from our previous booking was our home address. Still went through, no problem. It was high fives all around...lol. We booked this far out from the trip after doing some research for thurs - sun stays all the way to the date of our trip. This is what was on offer for what appeared to be the 3* Holiday Inn for each date:- 07/21/05 $234 07/28/05 $228 08/04/05 $225 08/11/05 $241 08/18/05 $241 08/25/05 $168 09/01/05 $171 09/08/05 $94 09/15/05 $94 09/22/05 $94 09/29/05 $88 10/06/05 $88 - Our win Needless to say we are very happy with the price and the location. If you want this hotel on Hotwire my advice is to book it as early as possible. I also did what appears to be the 3.5* Four Points Sheraton which had a range of $139 to $115, saving $24 per night the further out you booked. I hope this info helps someone. Love this site and can't thank you guys enough. Tones.
  3. A bit more research has also pulled up these that seem to fit, including the complementary breakfast..... 3* The Ramada Plaza Hotel- West Hollywood Ramada - Hollywood near Universal Studios
  4. i'm looking to identify this hotel....my dates are:- 10/10/2005 - 10/13/2005 - 4 nights - $84 per night - 3* best value Hollywood - West Hollywood (Downtown) Selected amenities include: Complimentary Breakfast, Pool(s), Fitness Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Laundry Facilities (self-service). It won't be the farmers daughter as it doesn't have a fitness center or on site laundry.....that would have been great.
  5. IMHO Renee your starting way too early for a good price on a hotel in April 2006. It starts to get a bit colder down here around that time and we have alot less tourists to accomodate. My wife and i use www.wotif.com.au for our hotels most of the time but 2 to 3 weeks out might make you feel a bit edgy. But really, you don't need too, because there is always somewhere of good quality to stay. Australia has a very good standard of accomodation. Check out the site now to get an idea of price....it might be comparable to the prices you've seen won for priceline or elsewhere. I hope it helps. Tones.
  6. Found your post after doing some searching about other stuff, but i'm happy to help if i can. I live in Melbourne, Australia and have been in the hospitality industry for over 25 years. Your dates, 1st to the 3rd of January 2006 are right in the middle of our summer school holidays on our best beaches, and as you could expect you will be paying the most you could possibly pay for a hotel room at any time in Australia. However..... the Gold Coast and Cairns are gorgeous and we have very high standards of accomodation down here so unless you are a princess, there is really no need for you to stay in a 5* property. Don't get sucked into paying a fortune for your hotel this far out from your holiday. You have time on your side. Cairns is a nice little city, i recommend a day trip out to Green Island to hang out by the hotel and do some snorkeling if that's all you have time for. Palm Cove is also a really lovely spot, wifey and i stopped there for breakfast on the way back to Cairns from Port Douglas and it was just beautiful. I suggest you forget about the Kuranda sky rail and scenic train as they are expensive tourist traps....honestly, but if money is not a problem by all means feel free....just don't expect much from Kuranda. As an Australian, i was embarrassed walking along the streets and looking at the crud they were selling as souveneirs. There is nothing there to see.....really. I was in the area only 12 months ago, my sister in law has an apartment in Port Douglas and we did the whole area. About an hours drive north of Cairns is Port Douglas and thats when things really get interesting, especially for diving and snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef. Unbelievable....my wife saw a green turtle as big as our dining table just meters away....it's breathtaking. I can't recommend doing this more highly, it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. And the town is utterly charming, very clean, safe, good restaurants that you can just pop into for dessert if you want too, and you'll really get a feel for what the Aussies are like. There are real estate agents in Port Douglas and Cairns that rent out apartments if that's a way you'd like to go. It can be very cost efficient with not having to dine in the local restaurants and pubs(hotels), and they have their own laundries as well. There is a fabulous supermarket that can provide anything you would want to cook. My wife and i use www.wotif.com.au for accomodation alot, and you might also try www.bestflights.com.au as they have quite alot of deals with hotels going on from time to time. Please feel free to contact me by pm, and if you need to we can keep in touch by email. For great value diving go and see http://www.habadive.com.au. Brilliant. They will help you pick your day/s to go out as the weather plays a very important part of the experience....calm seas in the days prior is good. Anyway, good luck and you know how to find me. Tones.
  7. We've been watching and learning so much from you guys since we joined the board and finally have a win to share. Used the GIFTCARD06 coupon code to secure an extra $10 discount per night. We thought it was the Crowne Plaza even though your hotel list for Anaheim shows laundry crossed out for this hotel. Here's an update for you thereuare. I just checked and the offer is still up on Hotwire. Pretty good for a 2 year old hotel i think. Crowne Plaza Resort Anaheim - Garden Grove, CA Amenitities:- Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business, Laundry Customer Favorite! 1 room @ $57.00 per night x 4 nights $228.00 Taxes and fees: $36.95 Hotel Subtotal: $264.95 Additional Savings: $40.00 Total Price: $224.95 Thanks very much for your help and we'll share our other bids for Las Vegas and LA soon.
  8. GIFTCARD06 still works as at 7/15/05, thanks to all for the info and saving us $40 on top of an already great price on our room.
