  1. PRICELINE accepted my first bid of $45.00....Wish I had started lower, but happy with the win. BTW, this Holiday Inn is trying harder to compete with the Drury Inn next door. They now have free happy hour & Internet. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $45.00 Subtotal: $90.00 Taxes & Fees: $19.36 Total Charges*: $109.36 Holiday Inn Joplin Joplin, Missouri 3615 Range Line Road Joplin, Missouri 64804 417-782-1000 See Hotel Website View Map and Directions Check-In Date: Tue, Aug 10, 2010 / After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Wed, Aug 11, 2010 / 12:00 PM I used the Betterbidding PRICELINE link. 2. Began bidding at $51....PRICELINE came back with the offer of letting me raise by bid from $10---$60 more & not have to change anything else to try again now. I chose to start over & add a free-rebid zone. I bid $57.00 & was accepted: Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $57.00 Subtotal: $114.00 Taxes & Fees: $24.54 Total Charges*: $138.54 Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort Phoenix North 11111 North 7th Street Phoenix, Arizona 85020 602-866-7500 See Hotel Website View Map and Directions Check-In Date: Thu, Aug 12, 2010 / After 04:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sat, Aug 14, 2010 / 12:00 PM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $57.00 Subtotal: $114.00 Taxes & Fees: $24.54 Total Charges*: $138.54 This place is always cheap & available in August, but the best price on their website was $79.00 prepaid, so I think I saved a little. I did use the Betterbidding PRICELINE link. Thanks again for your service.
  3. I actually did use the PRICELINE link...at least I think I did. I always do....
  4. First bid $51.00. Accepted. Hate when that happens...... Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $51.00 Subtotal: $51.00 Taxes & Fees: $13.84 Total Charges*: $64.84 I am happy that this bid is about one half of the internet price for the Drury Inn....which is where I would rather stay if prices were similar.....
  5. I am researching a visit to Pensacola and I am pretty certain that this property is located in the "Pensacola Bay" area. It appears to be right next door to the Courtyard and also appears to be the only Residence Inn in Pensacola. Also, that area is the only one for which Priceline offers 3* properties. Just thought I'd let you know for the records.
  6. OOPS forgot to put the price in the subject line...can't figure out how to do it while editing....sorry! 7. Does anyone know if Priceline or the individual resorts still charge the "resort fees"? How about Tapatio Cliffs, in Phoenix, in particular? Thanks!

  10. I am sorry about that. I totally forgot..and I know better. I will remember next time. :)
  11. Probably overbid. Won on first bid. $ 65.00. Interesting to know that it is now a 3.5 star, and I am happy to move there from my $135 room downtown for my last night in Houston. (The downtown room was not a Priceline bid, since I wanted to stay close to a "sold-out" convention.) Thanks again for all you do here on this forum.
  12. I just won the Houston Hobby Marriot and it was rated as a 3.5*. Hope that helps.
  13. Thanks. We did enjoy our stay. We actually added the Wednesday before the visit at the same price. The resort gave us a very nice room with a view of a pool and a very nice balcony. No mention of PRICELINE.....I think the check-in worker made an extra effort to find a nice room for us where we wouldn't have to switch after the first "added" night. Great Place!
  14. Thanks again for the great service you provide. :) I used your PRICELINE link. My first bid was for $50.00. They countered by asking me to up the bid by $14.00. I closed the window and began again with Phoenix North plus Apache Junction. Details below: Your Price Was Accepted Congratulations, your price of $57 was accepted by Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $57.00 Subtotal: $171.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $30.90 Total Charges*: $201.90

  16. I probably didn't follow the steps perfectly,. I am a little rusty. Last rejected bid was $85.00 for USW, then I added USE and was accepted at $90.00. I am happy with the win. AND I remembered to use the SavingsBarn link! :)
  17. tkgeekboy, How about from Manchester? Do you know how to use public transprotation from there in to Boston? Thanks!
  18. We stayed here for 2 nights in July 2006. We had two rooms, both of which were very nice. We got the beds (1 king & 2 doubles) and smoking (non) preferences we requested. The previous reviews cover the basic descriptions pretty well. In our case, however, the location was wonderful! We had never been to Philadelphia before and we enjoyed being so close to the historical area. The Society Hill area was also very nice...we enjoyed walking around & looking at the townhouses one night. The subway was close enough to make a trip to the baseball game easy & convenient. We found this to be a very nice hotel, even though we often win a 4-star choice. The staff here were very nice & accomodating. The previous reviewer who mentioned the area restaurants was correct. There are many nearby, as well as some nice markets with pre-made sandwiches & fruit, salad & food buffets. All-in-all this was a great stay!
  19. I did have a cheesesteak for you....it was GREAT! The Sheraton Society Hill was a great hotel in a great location. I will post a hotel review. :)
  20. The title says it all. Airport 2 1/2 * . Rejected all the way up to $55. We have a regular reservation at the Fairfield Inn for about $109, so may try agian in a day or so.
  21. OOPS, forgot to put the hotel name in the title: Radisson Plaza Lord Baltimore. Wasn't sure weather to start a new thread. Hope I am not making extra work for you, Thereuare. Anyway, I decided we just HAD to be at the Inner Harbor on Saturday night, so I went up to $180 for 3*. (My previous failed bid was for $175). Hotwire lists a 3* for that night at $204, which adds up to about $470 with taxes & fees. This Priceline bid adds up to $418. Still seems like SO MUCH money compared to what we are often able to do with Priceline, but I'm glad to be in that area of Baltimore for that night after the baseball game. Used Savingsbarn.com link, as always. :)
  22. dahammer, Thanks for the parking tip! We will definitely check it out.
  23. I have been working on this trip for too long. I got a little lazy in the bidding technique & was taking rather large jumps, not really expecting to succeed. I won the Sheraton Society Hill for $105 per night. Last rejucted bid was $90.00 (ouch :) ) Probably should have taken smaller steps, but at least we have a place to stay for 2 nights...and we may add another, with their feature. Reviews look mixed, but they often do. Used Savings Barn link :) By the way, I really appreciate the information about the SEPTA offered on this forum.
  24. I tried again today, using a number of different approaches. Am posting the results just for general info for others. 4* Inner Harbor 7/28 & 7/29 2 rooms--I went up to $140 & failed. 4* Inner Harbor 7/29 only, still for 2 rooms--I bid up to $165 & failed Decided that we really want to stay downtown at least for that Saturday night, because of a 4:30 pm ball game, so I decided to try for 3* 3* Inner Harbor, 7/29. 2 rooms--I bid all the way up to $152 & still failed. I can't decide whether to go even higher, or wait & hope some inventory opens up. It seems from the various Internet sites that rooms are available, just very expensive.
  25. Well, I'm envious because I bid up to $115 & was still rejected for 7/31 & 8/1. :)
