  1. 1/31/11 - 2/5/11

We booked the second leg of our vacation. 3* Westshore - Tampa Intl Airport TPA area Condo for $66 a night is Sailport Waterfront Suites Condo. Amenities: Oceanfront, 1-Bedroom Suite, Fully-equipped Kitchen, Airport Shuttle, Free Parking, Daily Housekeeping, Pool(s), High-speed Internet Access, Condo

We did not save any money though. Booking directly through the hotel is slightly more expensive, but with less fees added on - so works out almost exactly the same. Nonetheless, we could not have located it ourselves. All bookings done (air, 2 hotels - this one and the Orlando area one, car). Now researching all the restaurants we are going to invade in FL

Our biggest criteria for booking was to be able to pack the kids off to a different room :) and we have been able to do that for both hotels - very happy about that.

  2. FL from 01/26 to 02/05

We have the flight tix booked and nothing else. This is not a "do something" trip - it's a "need to chill" trip. Utmost flexibility on which all places we stay and when we stay. What I am wondering is that when is it best to start bidding for hotel rooms - should we start right away with real lowballs (I am thinking that might be a waste of time) or should we wait till the last moment to bid (perhaps around 01/22 or 02/23). Wifey would like to book sooner rather than later so we can start dreaming right away :)
