  2. Started at $65. Went to $70 then to $75. Not my favorite hotel, nor the best deal, but it will do. Rack rate is about $150. And as always, I used the PRICELINE links...for weeks.
  3. Don't know if I could have won cheaper, but I have been bidding for quite a while. My last bid was $90 before I jumped to $102. I had tried $100 last week with no luck. This is a very nice hotel in a good location for $102. Rack rate is $420 for this night. I used PRICELINE links.
  4. Look in to direct booking with hotel. Some will offer Stay and cruise parking. If not, any of the 3 stars and up downtown/convention center will suffice. It's not a dangerous area.
  5. Started at $70 and was offered rebid to $84. Denied the rebid and entered $72 and won. I've stayed here before. Great location. Thanks. I clicked the PRICELINE links about 40 times in the past 2 months bidding on this date.
  6. Bid up to $80 on Downtown/FQ and lost. Started at $60 on convention center area and won. Could've possibly won cheaper. Happy with price. Used the PRICELINE links.
  7. International Jewelry Fair/General Merchandise Show 05/16/13 - 05/19/13 with Tulane graduating is keeping rooms high right now. I wouldn't go above $100 either. Just keep trying. Reserve a back up plan, but they should drop.
  8. Not sure this was as cheap as I could get it. My last bid was for $105/night, but considering this is French Quarter Fest weekend, I'm very pleased. I used the PRICELINE links many many times. I've been bidding for days.
  9. I bid for a few days. Started around $60 and ended up going to $85. Not bad for Easter weekend. I used the PRICELINE links many...many times.
  10. Started at $55 Rebid at $65 Rebid at $72 and won Rack Rate is $144 + tax. So, half price. Clicked on PRICELINE links to bid. Thanks
  11. I actually have been attempting to bid on these dates for a few weeks now. Have bid all the way up to $90 previously with no luck. So, I had been starting my bidding at $70. I won two nights 1/25 & 1/26 @ $70 and needed another room for just 1/26. So, I started that one out @ $60 and won. I've clicked on the PRICELINE links from this site about 50 times winning this one :D Nice location/room for the price. Rack rate is $250.
  12. I started at $65. I used all my re-bid Zones and was quitting at $85 but I won. Nice property for the price. Rack rates are $250/night. I've been using PRICELINE links for the past week bidding on this property. Thanks
  13. Hotel is very nice. It is a bit far from the quarter, but it's a nice hotel if you're at the dome.
  14. I started at $50. Won at $60. I used the PRICELINE link. ETA: I butchered that title haha...sorry admins. Y'all changed the format up. I'll do better next time :)
  15. Started with Downtown @ $55 and added FQ @ $55 then rebid and won @ $60. Convenient location. Good price. As always I used the PRICELINE links. Admin please edit title. Correct dates are 8/11/12-8/13/12 Thanks
  16. Started @ $55. Rebid @ $58,60 and won @ $62. Nice hotel. Rooms are on the smaller side for Nola but more than adequate for 2. Great location. I used the PRICELINE links to bid. Thanks

Luke: Downtown - Chef John Besh – One of NOLA’s top chefs. German/Creole fusion Happy Hour - 50 cent oysters – 2-4-1 beer/wine – I always hit this place up. www.lukeneworleans.com Domenica: Italian - Downtown - Chef John Besh Happy Hour - Half off Pizza, 2-4-1 Beer http://www.domenicarestaurant.com/ Adolfo’s – Frenchmen Street – Owner/chef(works by himself) has really good seafood/creole italian at a good price. Place is small, but has downstairs live jazz while you wait. Expect to wait an hour so and no reservations. Worth the wait. UpperEnd: Galatoires: French Quarter – Classic NOLA – Must wear jacket in evening. Friday ALL DAY(3-4 hours of lunch/drinks/socializing with strangers) lunch is one of the best traditions in NOLA(Requires waiting in line starting at about 9, or as most people do, get your secretary or pay somebody $20 to hold your spot). www.galatoires.com Rio Mar: Warehouse district - Latin American/Creole fusion: Chef Garcia. Rest of the menu is average in my opinion. Lucy’s – Warehouse District – Good place for drinks. Under 35 crowd. Okay Mexican and seafood. www.lucysretiredsurfers.com/neworleans Drinks/ in Downtown/Quarter/Frenchmen Street: I personally like to see Jeremy Davenport at the Ritz Thurs-Sun right on the corner of Bourbon/Canal. http://www.ritzcarlton.com/en/Properties/NewOrleans/Dining/DavenportLounge/Default.htm Laid back jazz. Monteleone has a nice carousel bar(actually rotates). Bit pricey but cool place. http://hotelmonteleone.com/carouselbarentertainment/ Bourbon Street has 3-4-1 beer specials until 7 or 8 at many places. Razoo’s, The Beach etc. Just walk up and down the street till you find a place you like since open containers is legal. Bourbon is great and a must see, but it’s mostly tourists, but that doesn’t stop me from visiting it occasionally. Frenchmen Street has more live music and locals and is closer to what Bourbon St was 30 years ago. - Pat O Brien’s is a cool place on Bourbon to get a hurricane and just hang out on the patio. Almost always stop by here for an hour or two every time I visit. - Jax Brewery has good drink specials during the day and offers a good spot to watch sports and a view of the river. 6-9 $2 beers and 2-4-1 apps. Food is so/so. - Walk On’s is a nice sports bar with fill your own taps at booths in the bar. Food is average at best - Old Absinthe house is a decent hangout, but expensive drinks. Gold Mine right off of Bourbon on Dauphine/St Peter you will find some more locals
  18. You did get one of the "furthest" hotels in the Downtown area from the FQ, but it's not too bad. It's a nice hotel. And there are some some of the best restaurants in NOLA within walking distance, and not far from the trolley. There are close to 20 top notch restaurants within .5 miles of your hotel. That can't be said when staying in the FQ. I have a word doc outlining some of the area's restaurants/bars I put together for a family member at one point. If interested PM me.
  19. 1. 3.5* in the FQ will get you a quality hotel. Can't comment on pricing. 2. What are your goals for the trip? Are you partying, eating, touring? Can you easily walk a half mile?
  20. I stay in NOLA all the time and almost exclusively stay in downtown. 90% of the properties in Downtown are only a couple of blocks to the French Quarter and less than a 5 minute walk. I have found no difference in hotel quality from the 4* to 3.5* level in downtown. You would be wise to get out of the FQ/Downtown area for at least 2 or 3 days of your trip to really see the city anyways and the downtown area is much easier to access those areas via trolley or cabs. My 2 cents. It's a great city. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions.
  21. I won this hotel in denver last time. I like it. Nice large rooms with large balcony. Cool little bar across street. I used betterbidding PRICELINE links to win this property.
  22. It appears $73 would've won this property. I can live with the additional 2 bucks :) Nice place. Have stayed here before. I used the betterbidding PRICELINE links to win this property.
