  1. Thanks. I"ll keep it in mind next time. I really only wanted the Rio Mar or El Con, and I didn't want to wait it out, so this price is fine. I did try raising it up by half, but was told I had to raise it by $22. I also used the PRICELINE link.
  2. Thanks to BB I got the Wyndham Rio Mar for $121. I tried first with a $99 bid that was rejected but then was prompted to offer $22 more. I did, since Hotwire had 4* for $135. Not sure if that's the way to go when offered the "one time chance", but I went ahead with it. The other place I was looking at was the El Conquistador, but couldn't get a rate less than $250. I figure with the extra money, we can rent a car.
  3. Aha. There is golf nearby. Is this a match for the Rio Mar in Puerto Rico?
  4. Thought I'd add that everything matches up with the Wyndham Rio Mar, except there's no golf icon listed. That threw me off.
  5. I'm looking at several options for a last minute deal. Got a Hotwire price of $135 for April 10-14. Amenities: Resort Shuttle Beachfront Casino Restaurant Pool Fitness Center Business Center Hi speed Internet Tennis Spa Any help identifying? I'm really hoping to get ElConquistador. Any suggestions would be appreciated, and I will certainly use the HOTWIRE link when I'm ready to commit. Thanks
  6. 4* Aruba Help I got a hot, wire price of $189 for April 10-14. Amenities are: Resort Beachfront Casino Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Business Center Hi Speed Internet Tennis Spa Any help identifying would be appreciated. (I think I posted this previously in the wrong section. Sorry)
  7. I just got the Ambassador East for 12/21 for one night for $95. Amenities were Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center and Hi-speed Internet.
  8. I just got the Hotel Inter-Continental for $109 on 9/16 for 1 night. Amenities were Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, Hi-Speed and Business Center, and it was a Customer Favorite. Thanks BB!
  9. I just bid on and won 2 rooms at the Burnham through Priceline for $99 for 8/17 (1 night). They offered an extension at the same rate. I declined but maybe that helps someone else (not sure). First time I ever bid on hotel rooms. In my usual fashion, I'm thinking maybe I should have offered less, although I'm pretty happy with this price. Hotwire's lowest rate for a 4* Loop hotel was $114 (probably the Burnham).
  10. I should have been able to identify it. My fault that I didn't. I was in a bit of a hurry and missed the "Customer Favorite". I thought I might get the Drake or the Westin. I'm sure we'll enjoy the stay, though. Thanks for the information!
  11. Just got the Omni Ambassador East for $124 on Dec 17-19. Amenities were: Restaurant, Fitness,Business Center and Hi Speed Internet. Also a Customer Favorite. I think the Omni is a little bit north of where we would like to be. I'm a little disappointed. I wish I had gone for the cheaper $86 Mag Mile (it was probably the Hyatt). I could have used the extra money for taxis to Water Tower. Now, we'll still have to take taxis if it's cold.
  12. Sorry I didn't follow up sooner. I didn't go with the 3* Hollywood. I ended up going with the "safe bet" with the help of this board and stayed at the Sheraton Universal.
  13. Just booked the Hyatt for 7/3 one night. Amenities listed were Restaurants, fitness center and business center. Price was $89.
  14. Hi, It's June 16-18. Thurs and Fri nights
  15. Can you help with a 3* West Hollywood on Hotwire? Amenities listed are free continental breakfast, pool(s), fitness, hi-speed Internet & laundry. Price was $87 (per night) for 2 nights in June.
