  1. Friend from Guangzhow got it. He was so excited to find out it is very affordable to travel in the US... :)
  2. 340 students were placed at this Crowne Plaza Hotel, so ... "Increased admission acceptance and more returning students - some requesting on campus living - caused a housing shortage of nearly 500 students that pushed the University into a corner with some tough decisions to make. Roughly 340 students were placed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Franklin while 140 were given housing in residence hall lounges on the New Brunswick and Piscataway campuses, said Joan Carbone, the executive director for Residence Life."
  3. First bid on 3* hotel at East Brunswick - Edison and glad to get this hotel. Hotel website rate $149.
  4. Going to be 100 degree today. This hotel is great for escaping the heat in a sense that it connected (or inside) Morristown HQ Mall with huge fitness center, cienema ...etc. across st lots of foods, affordable or luxury, no need to drive with easy walk... can also order take out to eat at bar area with sports TV, falls, nice sofa and stools, seem always few people there and quiet, other than nights.
  5. Got this nice hotel at first bid as usual Hotel website price $109. There is going to be a huge event at Birchwood Manor nearby, so this is a great hit! Since hotel is right at Headquarter Plaza and there is a nice theater, we watched a late movie every time stay here. Last time this Forbidden Kingdom really great, and after movie just walk back room to sleep. :)
  6. Went back to old records and saw a $36 winning bid, so give it a try. Yeh! got it at $36!! :) This is a great hotel.
  7. Average rate is $211 but the hotel rate is $89 tonight. Got it $45 at First Bid. :) This is a very nice hotel can walk to downtown Morristown, very convenient and very close to Washington Headquarter Historic Site. It is right next to Morristown Headquarter Mall with huge nice pool that has babysit, and free to Hyatt guest with room key. Next to this gym is nice movie theater. So, going to enjoy a nice weekend and spend the $600 Uncle Sam gave me, and, maybe help economy a bit. Gas is expensive, so it makes sense to stay hotel and just drive one way each day.
  8. Glad to find out there is a brand new Marketplace right next to the hotel on the other side, and we went to this brand new Panera Bread for dinner; it was so new, the manager said it was just opened for two weeks, but so many people, parking lot got lots of luxury cars. Then, it started snowing, so we rushed back to hotel and checked in. It is wonderful, full of surprise! First, the hallway carpet was replaced new with the nice pattern. Then, the room shows a 42" flat panet TV, making NBA games so vivid, especially in this 14 feet high room, this Rutgers Univ Student, the front desk, gave us. and the sofabed is also new style and comfortable. The lobby area found many different styles of table sets, just like the Panera Bread, so sitting at different table set for different purpose, very nice. I like the one right next to fireplace. Wow! the rack rate said behind the door is now $199 to $299!!! I guess corporate travellers or the rich would not mind to pay more... The whole area seemed to be very energetic, many cars, and parking lots of all restaurants in the area seemed all full... Looks like economic is booming!!!
  9. After Princeton Homewood Suites reimbursed me the double charge, I can't wait to try PL again, and I got this wonderful hotel at first bid at min $37 I always got. Can't believe this since the hotel website shows $89, kind of $10 more than before. Hey! inflation seems to be everywhere, but not PL yet, huh?
  10. When I stayed at this hotel, I use it together with nice Market Fair Mall off Rt 1 nearby that has wonderful Barnes & Noble where you can find hundreds of current magazine, and the coffee taste great with 43 cent refill if you are BN member. The food court has a great Japanese lunch box at little cost. And you can watch a nice movie at cinema if nothing to do before going back to hotel take shower and sleep.
  11. I am so glad that more phone calls finally get the confusion resolved. The story was that Priceline did not pay the hotel in time for tha 2nd day last minute extension, so the hotel needs to obtain the payment from PL before they can reimburse me, and it is now reimbursed. Yeh!!! I think it makes sense...
  12. What it surprised me when my credit card statement came, both priceline and the hotel charged me. Priceline charged me $35 the bid price plus overhead, whereas the hotel charged me $42... :) Last time I got double charges was in Hilton Garden Inn at Edison, and it took a while to get the money back. This time, the manager was great and said it would be credit back in next statement, but the new statement came, they still did not credit back the double charge.... Not sure what to do now... maybe should call them again? My situation was when I clicked on the "extension" while I was happy with the hotel before the check out date, so that extended day was double charge.... Will keep you posted... I would like to come back to this hotel but afraid of being double charged again ... :)
  13. I think $32 is the best you can get, and I often got that. But this seems to be winter rate ...
  14. two blocks away there is self parking for $18, but no need to take light rail. Otherwise, parking at behind Courtyard is cheaper, that is across street of double tree. There are street parking but Jersey City is in 5 of top 10 car stolen rate in the US.
  15. This is really a great hotel, but not too many cars at the parking lot. Very few people went to the wonderful complimentary hot buffet breakfast, so it is like only us, and since each table chair set seem different, so we pick one next to fireplace; it is really like at home. I was surprised to find out past dated USA Today, which is wonderful, it is even like my home that I have all the newspaper piled up and go back to read past dated newspaper any time I feel like. We were assigned a room far away but right next to the swimming pool, exercise room, basketball court, ...etc. So, kids are happy.
  16. Bid $35 on 4* first to let PL program think I am 4* customer and not targeting on particular hotel, then lower to 3* as rejected and expected, then lower to 2.5* for same, then lower to 2*, and got it as expected. Super! that's what I really want.
  17. Wow! This is much better than my other experience of Homewood Suites, no wonder it was ranked top #1 of all 15 hotels in Princeton. Kind of surprise why it is 2* hotel at Princeline.com I believe it should be at least 2.5* as other Homewood Suites. So, if you don't get it on 2.5*; it is because it is placed at 2* hotel. Check in early beating the traffic on Rt 1, but it worths it since we made it to have this nice complimentary dinner with nice salad, lemonade juice, hot chicken, corn dog, desert, nice wine!!! yes, wine! can't believe! Very nice basketball court that kids always love, nice NBA balls. The hotel opened late last year, and still very very new and stylish. Then TV is 32" bigger than 27" at other hotel. Bed is very comfortable with sleeping bed...
  18. This is great hotel! Saw it started building from ground zero when staying at next door Courtyard by Marriott and later grand opening late last year. First bid at $35 and got it. Was afraid to get 2* Extended Stay, which is not bad either for $30 last time, but glad got this new hotel...
  19. Friend new to PL just bid 2.5* at $35 and countered $9, and she just accepted, so got $44, which is still very good. :)
  20. This is really a great hotel, so stylish so new, just extend another day :) It is like having a home right next to nice mall that kids can just walk over to their favorite stores and Barnes & Noble... and it has great support for home office...
  21. By the way, the lobby is not yet renovated, so it is still old AmeriSuites look. However, the 5th floor has been renovated. As soon as the elevator open, wow! it is a Borgata Casino as my kid yelled!!! Stepped into the room, wow! nice 42" flat TV, and can play movie from my laptop DVD and also MP3 music. That was great like Hilton Millenium. Can't wait for the renovation of the lobby like the one we visited at Independence OH. Complementary Wireless Internet, and coreless phone! That's very handy. Remember to bring your own VGA cable because front desk said that all were been borrowed... :)
  22. Got this by accident, so I guess you can get this 2.5* hotel at better price... :) but it looks great! It was AmeriSuites till July this year... Went check out Princeton Univ, plenty of parking at Prospect St. Kids love to do ripstick at the campus, lots of hills. Ran into some new students coming from out of state, then came back to have a nice dinner at PF Changs ight next to this hotel. Going to Market Fair Mall later, it is right next to the hotel too, and maybe read some books at Barnes & Nobel there.
