  1. I was not only happy and enjoyed my stay, in fact, I also extended the stay at the same $35!!! What it made me even happier was that the front desk offered me to move to a even bigger suite that had two big screen TV's ...
  2. It has been a great night! The hotel is so new, everything is perfect! The complimentary breakfast is, in particular, great! The only thing seems to be missing is the USA Today, but that's fine; I just went to Business Center to check out the news on the web.
  3. They seemed to watch Betterbidding and took your advise! I just got the Homewood Suites at 2.5* ... :)
  4. Bid $33 on 3.5*, failed, add 3*, failed, add 2.5* and increased to $35. Got it! :) I just search Betterbidding to find out more info about this hotel, and I found that this is great hotel but some was not able to get it, how lucky I was :) Just checked internet to find out that this hotel still ranked very hight (#2) of all hotels in the area, and just quickly went thru some recent reviews that made me feel great... :o Famous Princeton University is very nearby, and the newly constructed Peter Lewis Library is a must visit.
  5. This is a very nice hotel, although at Warren, but very close to and across street from Courtyard Basking Ridge at x33 of I-78. We were there before and had nice dinner, our waiter was great! We often got $37 on Courtyard, but if can get $30 on this Somerset Hill Hotel, it is a great deal.
  6. Not sure if you can get one again here because Rutgers University is short of student dorm and sent 500+ students to live here and run campus bus between hotel and College Ave campus ...
  7. This is a very nice hotel, we got a room right next to the indoor swimming pool :) It is very close to the huge nice mall that has Cheesecake Factory and PF Chang that we love a lot! Barnes & Noble connected to the mall is a nice place to hang on before the dinner or after. Will come here again soon ...
  8. Having dinner at the hotel, around $70 but can not charge the room, so give them cash ...
  9. Yes, I heard there is going to be a huge real estate investment group coming from China to visit DC and may be invest on real estate. Not sure if there are also other groups coming from other area also coming to DC for travel and investment during the time frame.
  10. I agree that Springhill Suites is great for family, but even one king bed has sofa bed, so 2 adult and 2 kids still very comfortable ... I guess.
  11. The hotel was newly reonvated, the hallway looks new and shine with good pattern. The TV is 50" LG which is great! The breakfast buffet is now $13.95 per person. Minutes away Chu's Cafe looks luxury and affordable, beef noodle taste great! formal dinner is good too. end up went there twice for lunch and dinner. Order domina pizza also good and convenient, not sure where they came from. The front desk said they are going to renovate the lobby soon. This seemed to be a popular hotel, the parking lot looked full at midnight. Right off I-78, easy access to Bridgewater Commons Mall. The bed is very comfortable, end up extend one more day at same price.
  12. bid $40 on 2.5* hotel and got upgraded to 3* Courtyard Basking Ridge ...
  13. Don't forget to validate your parking ticket at lobby so that you can obtain complimentary parking right at the basement of the hotel ...
  14. Guess what? I decided to extend another day of stay, however, when I tried, it says no more room for $35 and asked if I would take a room on $44, I said yes. I guess it was true because at midnight, after later dinner at Ruby Tuesday next door, I drove around the parking lot, and it was pretty full. For a 2br 2ba top floor suites, $44 is still a great price. I think the economic crisis already ended here at Staybridge Suites. Oh! It also ended at Rutgers University since we went to watch a Chinese performing arts show at Nicholas Music Center ($20 per person) that night, and it was also pretty full; there were long line waiting to get in...
  15. I was going to see if there is 2br 2ba suites at check in, but I was told that the room has been automatically assigned. Wow! can't believe my eye. It is a 2br 2ba suites at 2nd floor with volume ceiling!!! :)
  16. I just tried to follow your path and I also got this wonderful suite hotel at $35!! Thanks a lot! I was almost going to get 4* Heldrich at New Brunswick at $68 from their website, but they do not have parking, and city parking is $14.
  17. Bid $32 on Somerset-Piscataway-South Plainfield, got $8 counter back and added Edison-East Brunswick and raise $3 to $35. Got it! :)
  18. friend needs to go to Conference at Donald E. Stephens Convention Center 3-17-09 to 3-22-09 and this hotel has 24x7 complimentary shuttle from and to ORD airport is about 2.8 miles away. First bid on 3* and got it.
  19. I often bid while at hotel, and all I did is when I checked out the current day at front desk told them that I have another one in the new day, and they will be glad to give me the SAME room with "different set of keys" if I chose to. Sometimes, I asked to change room, or just checked out as if I did not got another day, and come back at night to check in again, hopefully (and always the case), my current room if I do not like would be taken by someone else ... In fact, PL let you to "extend the stay at the same price" till 11am, but your case is even better, you may get better price, but seperated bid deadline is 11pm the previous day. So, I often bid again by 11pm, if I did not get anything better, I just extend by 11am of the following day ... In your case, you could have extended another day at same $38, but $34 is certainly better ... :)
  20. Hyatt Place is very nice and completely renovated the way we saw on the way to Chicago last time, and complimentary breakfast was full of people, very warm, especially, the manager came over to greet everyone.
  21. Bid $35 on 2.5* at Princeton area, got contingency offer with additional $9, not accepted, at another one and increased to $37, rejected, add another one and increase to $38 and got this 3* Hyatt Place which is one of the best location. Right next to it is newly open PF Chang's restaurant, and Market Fair Mall with nice food court and cinema and Barnes & Noble.
  22. Most stores and malls all closed last night, so end up had dinner at Hyatt Regency's wonderful restaurant, but, as you can guess each dish is about $37 !!! :) But, somehow, the whole restaurant is full! although the huge parking lot is only about 20% full of cars ... nice colorful fishes at the indoor ponds ... also the swimming pool is big and nice, but, no body was there, only us... like family pool. the business center charge $5.95 per 15 minutes, a bit crazy.
  23. Started bidding on $37 on 3.5* where I used to be able to get, but not able to, eventually got $41 which is still great! It is a nice hotel, want to check out the nice Japanese Seafood Buffet off Rt 130 at East Windsor, so location is a match ...
