  1. bid globally at $35 from 4* to 3.5* to 3* to 2.5* at $35 and got it! :) Nothing $35 on 2.5* and above in Greater Jersey City Area, nor Greater Tarrytown NY Area, nor many other area till hit this one ...
  2. While going to visit the hotel again, I just came back to read my previous post and noticed that I forgot to mentioned there is a very nice Dunkin Donuts right next to the hotel in the office complex, but it does not open 24 hours; it opens 5am to 8pm, but it is still quite convenient and nice place to sit with a cup and read some books or magazines.
  3. Bid $30 on 3.5* choosing all in Greater Princeton Area, rejected, lower to 3* rebid on $30, rejected again, lower to 2.5* rebid on $30, got it!!!
  4. The self parking right at the basement parking deck is $17 per night, very convenient and safe and need room key to get in and out, good till 6pm at the check out date, so it is great after checked out. If you want to save $17 parking, you may find many street free night parking with meter, and Sunday is parking free, otherwise, may need to get up and feed some coin if not check out early morning. It is in particular convenient of this location because one block away is Roselyn Station of the Metro that has both blue line and orange line and most attractions in DC area by foot. Right next to it is this award winning 3 level McDonald where we had a cone after lunch at across street Quizno sub whose bath is very clean! :o We had dinner at the Chipole and there is another Cosi ... the area seem like Newport at Jersey City across river to Manhattan. We also took the nice walk thru Key Bridge over Potomac River to George Town, so many students and tourist, everywhere was full of people, many restaurants had long line. We also enjoy some nice time at the park down to river where we got lost the previous night on K Street going to the hotel and found this wonderful view. Then we checked out this 3000 K Street called Sequoia water front restaurant where we were told 10 presidents ate there! Right next to it is a very nice place, Sweden Embassy, museum, free drinks, events, ...etc. Then we found the brand new bikeshare rack right next and check out bikes, each $5 daily membership with $101 deposit with credit card. It starts in just September, so new so nice with bell and flashing lights, good for 24 hours. So we ride all the way back to hotel. However, although there were 14 bikeshare stations in Arlington area, no one close to the hotel, so we end up have to ride back to return the bikes. Even worse, the bikeshare station at Georgetown and Sequioa where we rented both FULL :) so we had to call customer services to find out nearest bikeshare station at New Hampshare Ave ... What a nightmare! :)
  5. Bid 4* at Cristal City at $45, rejected, add Arlington, got it! :)
  6. This time the hotel seemed to be more cars in the parking lot with tour bus, so we parked on the other side, feeling safe. There were so many teenagers, all over the place, later we found out it was a cheer leader team. This time we got a much nicer room with microwave and refrig all unexpected, but great to have. The two double beds were so comfortable and kids playing XBox with the new game just bought, wow $65 for the game from Best Buy, even more for the hotel we got! Well, supporting the economy, huh? The complementary breakfast was wonderful, and this time, we got a nice spot, the whole area full of moms and cheer leaders in the early morning, so we all felt great and chat with some moms. Later after they left with the tour bus, more coming to have breakfast. It was great the time from 6am to 10am, plenty of time to enjoy the breakfast. They also had free Courier Times newspaper to check for weekend coupons and great deals in the area, and I picked up this wonderful news that Amarzon going to hire 15,500 people in Pheonix and Good Year AZ, (5,000 people), and 4,000 at Allentown, Hazleton and Leuisburg PA ...etc, no wonder the area is booming. We had no problem to call and extend to 1pm before we heading to nice open houses in the area like last week. We saw some very nice houses in the area including one development that has total over 170+ new homes, and sold close to 100 already, that was quick. One model we saw was so interesting that has elevator from first floor to second floor. On the way back, we pass this nice golf course with driving range, full of players, and along the River Rd to check out more rentals, like Yardley Crossing, wondering if one can get a 2br for only $850? Then we took yet another bridge back to Trenton and then Rt 1 N. On the way, had some nice food at Market Fair Mall food court, which is not far away, and reading some books at Barnes & Noble and having some smoothies (it has some nice coupons print from their website, and even better member has 10% off).
  7. This time we did not take I-95 S x49 from Rt 1. Instead, we just continue Rt 1 South (not business route) all the way till Warren St to exit and left follow this brand new roads thru this nice NO TOLL bridge to Morrisvilla PA, right turn at traffic light into South Penn Av, about one mile left to West Trenton Ave toward that Morrisville Lanes we visit last week. Why? Last time we saw a wonderful buffet nearby across street from McDonald, but closed already, but the sign said "all day buffet $5.99" :) So, we were wondering if dinner also at this great price. Yep! This buffet called No. 1 Buffet, very nice has all kinds of food, hot and cold and fruits and salad, and even ice cream ...etc. It was almost full. The economy here seemed to be coming back already!!! After wonderful dinner, we chat a little bid with the owner, they said rent a 2br apt in the area only cost $850!! Wow! The restaurant opened before but they took over 2 years ago ... She said many customers came from Trenton for business lunch, just across that bridge we took, less than 2 miles away. Many families ate here; we felt very comfortable. Then we right turn to Big Oak Ave, then a few minutes right turn to Stony Hill, the follow the route a few minutes right again all the way to this wonderful hotel.
  8. The lady serving the breakfast was great and the food was wonderful, so I gave her $20 bill for the tip to show my appreciation. Another gentleman came over to chat and took the dirty plate off my table couple times, he was so nice, so I also gave him $20 to make his day. Later we went to a Ruby Tuesday, this waitor was great too, and at the end, I also gave him $20 bill as tip he deserve ...
  9. It is very easy to see this nice hotel from Fwy 95 South exit 49 to PA 322, at exit just turn right then immediately left into an office park and thru the speed bumps would be this nice newer hotel. The check in was fast but we got this #208 smoking room so had to go change but was told Internet customer got whatever left :) and nothing left because they have 3 big wedding parties here tonight. We ended up got a special room. So, we decided to go out do something instead of staying at the room. We then found out this nice Morrisville Lanes about 6 miles away and had an one hour bowl for $24 up to 6 with free shoe rental although we did not have that many players. They also had all you can bowl to midnight for $56. We decided to just stay there for one hour because they did not have pizza but vending machines. One thing interesting is that the rest room is unusually clean and modern, all all automatic including water, soap, paper towel, ...etc, all hands free. Nearby had a brand new style of McDonald, but, unfortunately, they closed at 11pm, so we had to find something else. On the way back, we found this nice Venezia Pizza right at the Giant Supermarket shopping center not far from the hotel. The owner was super nice, but they are closing in 15 minutes, so we just take all they left for only $10, that's 3 boxes of pizza ! While having pizza at the room, I noticed the roof is very height, the room is very big, the TV program is nice, 32 channels, more than we need. One special thing I found is the hanger nod on the wall at entrance that was just perfect for hanging my coat and hat. This is first time I saw; may be they should have more of that would make the room feel bigger and easier to use. While picking up hot chocolate and coffee at the dinning room next to lobby, I met quite a few people there just coming back from a wedding nearby having drinks and chat while watching TV, it was quite a nice feeling. The parking lot full of cars and big travel buses. Economy seems coming back here!
  10. Yes, the length is one of the issues. Hyatt Princeton often have vacant rooms in weekends, i.e. Friday and Saturday nights that you can easily get $40, the minimum priceline bid. So you may try to secure 2 nights first at this low $40 rate, then you can use Priceline's "extend stay feature" to extend for another day, before or after the winning bids. In general, weekends for hotels like Hyatt have big parties such as wedding, but fewer hotel guest, for weekdays, they charged much more for business traveler, i.e. Sun to Thu nights. This is the reverse of suite hotels where family travel often use them in weekends, and during weekdays, there may be vacancies, and they welcome guest like you stay for many days. In the area, you may bid 2.5* hotels to get Homewood Suites which is great too.
  11. Bid $33 on 3* on all areas on 8/6/10 Fri and got $10 counter back at $43, reject with $34 at 3* on all again on 8/7/10 Sat, rejected. Bid again $35 on all 3* with 8/6/10 and 8/7/10. Got it! :) This is a great hotel, was Embassy Suites(?) nice pool with color light, nice atrium, many sofa sets, ...etc. great deal!
  12. Bid 3* and up on all areas of Plymouth Meeting ...etc on $45 and got this 3* Double Tree which is wonderful! It looks like Embassy Suites except got the room with two full size beds than one king size bed. The separated living room with sofa bed is great. Internet access is free, same as parking, plenty of them. Across street is Plymouth Meeting Mall with food court, and PF Chang, China Buffet, Dave and Buster, ...etc.
  13. bid 3.5* at Whippany on $40 and countered back $10, skip and lower to 3* and add $1 to $41, got it !!! :)
  14. Trying to get 4* near airport on $50, failed, down to 3.5* on $45, failed, down to 3* on $42, got it! This is very good location and was under renovation in June ...
  15. First bid. It is a great hotel, asking a room with balcony to see the atrium events, was charged $15 more, which is well worth it. The room is great with tall ceiling and curved hall way, very private. The going on parties were like in the backyard...
  16. I extend from PRICELINE as always ... I do not think you can get the same price from hotel directly, but you can always get from priceline thru betterbidding's PRICELINE link ...
  17. You may check out this brand new huge Japanese Seafood Buffet at 560 Stelton Rd, Piscataway NJ near by, only $5.95 all you can eat M-F lunch ... Good value!
