  1. I am glad that since I was not able to get anything after lots of try, so I just had to go home. After Irene, the area all flood very heavily, especially from the canal and Raritan River to Bound Brook which the whole town blocked now ... If I chose to stay at the jack up of $41 by priceline, I could have face another jack up tonight when I was not able to go home ... If I got Hyatt or Hilton, then I am also in trouble because the Hwy 18 is flooded of water, and flood all the way to Hyatt New Brunswick door steps ...
  2. Due to Hurricane Irene, we decided to extend for another day, but it asked $78 to extend, but the hotel rate is only $85. When I went back to bid again, priceline gives a fool price of $145. and eventually I lowered from 3.5* to 3* to 2.5* to 2* and did NOT get anything for same $37. Finally, I decided to give it a try at 1* I never stayed, and priceline says the retail price is $44, so I still bid $37, but, still did NOT get one. So, I called hotel front desk and asked how much if I extend the stay; I was told $85. In the mean time, I am trying to bid 4* hotel at New Brunswick and PL gave a fool price of $219, where as the Heldrich Hotel, the only 4* hotel in this area website shows only $119 ... :) and failed, so lower to 3.5* got fool price of $170, where as the both 3.5* hotels Hyatt and Hilton in the area is also much lower. Bid $40 to get nothing. Before able to get Hyatt for $40 and Hilton at $37.
  3. Bid 3.5* hotel at $33, counter $42, add another zone, bid again at $35, rejected, add another zone, bid $37, got it! This is better because fee parking. Hilton East Brunswick parking $8 and Hyatt New Brunswick $13.
  4. Somehow, these area became very crowd this weekend, so I had to lower the star level, and got this one at $38. On the way to Pococo, I saw so many cars and travelers, so I guess that tells why... I think the economy in this area is booming ... This hotel is the same as the Homestead we had in Horsham PA, and comparing to 2.5* Fairfield Inn, it does not have complimentary breakfast, but it has a full kitchen. So you may not save in breakfast, but you can save in dinner.
  5. This is a great hotel, and we had a good time here. It is a very convenient intermediate stop from NYC to Pocono area. When passed Fwy 287, one more exit would be this hotel, and when continue heading to Pocono area (by the way Hwy 80 has been repaved, so new so shine!), just come back to Hwy 80 West. We also saw some tourist bus at the parking lot and in the morning many tourists from overseas ... By the way, I got $35 on this hotel not long ago, so I seemed to paid $7 more. However, the complimentary breakfast seemed to worth the bucks, especially, they have the big "walnuts" for oak meal, which has lots of Omega 3 very good for heart.
  6. Not sure why you did not win since I was always able to get one at $35 since many years ago when it was still 3.5* hotel. Ever since it renovated and became 4* hotel, I did not get it till recently my 3.5* bid often got upgraded to this nice 4* Hyatt. On the other hand, because I was always got upgraded to this 4*, I never got a chance on other 3.5* hotel in the area which I have been trying for. I am glad Madison Hotel pop up; I wish I can get that one too...
  7. bid $40 on 3.5* failed, $41 on 3* failed, $42 on 2.5* got it! This is a very nice suite hotel with free parking, free Internet and complimentary breakfast.
  8. I believe $40 is the minimum price you can win this wonderful hotel. If you bid lower than $40, it will come back to ask you to add to $45 ... So, why not just bid $40 and get it at the first bid? The taxi from the hotel to downtown Princeton Nassau St is $18; however, they charge more, $24, after 9pm ...
  9. By the way, the parking is also free. All you need to do is drive to the underground parking facility, very safe, many lights, and took the elevator up and have the parking ticket "stamp" at the front desk, and when checked out just stick into the machine, and gate open free...
  10. Wow! they gave us a newly renovated wonderful room! The view is gorgeous! Never realize Morristown is so beautiful! Nearby off Rt 10 Hanover Lanes is nice, and further down is Funplex, so many kids and lots of fun, the race car is so attractive ... Rt 46 has a very nice restaurant that we had to go ... of course before going back to hotel, Barnes & Nobel at Rt 10 is a good place to quiet down ... Funny? before going back to sleep, went back to Funplex again to get more rides as the pass is good for whole day ... Even better, there is free WIFI access from street stores, so we did not need to pay $10 for Hyatt Internet access ... :)
  11. bid $35 on 4* hotel at Morristown, rejected, lower to 3.5* hotel, rebid, got it! This is a very nice hotel, newly upgraded, free self parking at downstairs, walk to Morristown train station, right at down town...
  12. bid all 2* hotels in the area at $32 and got this one. It does not have complimentary breakfast, nor free Internet access ($4.95 per stay), but near a nice Barnes & Noble at Willow Grove Shopping Center and a very nice 3 story mall at Willow Grove Park Shopping Center with great food court, so we had a great time in the area. There is also a very closeby 24 hour Walmart super center with regular supermarket foods and in store Subway. This Homestead hotel is also Extended Stay so it has kitchen, stove, microwave and refrig ...etc. The laundry room has 6 washers and 6 dryers and tv. about 10 year new, 3 story, and met a gentlemen lived there for over 7 years!
  13. bid $39 on 3.5* on all zones in Princeton with 3.5* hotels got $8 counter back, rejected and add $3 more and other zone and got it. Very happy! This is a great hotel ...
  14. bid $40 on 3.5* hotel and got countered $15, rejected and add another area, bid $41 on 3.5* hotel and got this same hotel, which is wonderful! :)
  15. This hotel is so nice that it has two pool tables and other games on the 2nd floor above reception, and it has a huge swimming pool, many racquetball courts and indoor basketball court. So, we decided to extend another night as the a/c in the room is so cool and outside is over 100 degrees Then, we could not extend yet another day when we wanted because the heat wave did not seem to leave yet, so we had to bid on hotels again, and we got this one again
  16. bid $40 on 3.5* hotel in all area of Princeton, got $15 counter offer, accepted, got this wonderful Hotel and Conference Center ...
  17. bid 3* on all hotels in Greater Philadelphia at $40 and got this one ...
  18. Bid 3.5* hotel at $33 on Somerset-Piscataway area, failed, add Edison-East Brunswick and raised to $37, got it! :)
  19. very nice swimming pool, nice brunch buffet, got a room right next to the atrium which is very nice. run into a huge luxury wedding ...
  20. newly upgraded room, wall to wall window side desk, free self parking at downstairs with elevator or open nice staircase up, validated parking ticket at front desk. Very nice to walk around at night, many activities at nights...
