  1. I booked the Vdara for $112/nt from 5/5/11-5/9/11 (Thursday-Monday) through PRICELINE. I booked today (Saturday, 3/19/11) and started bidding at $80, increasing my bids by $5 (until I got to $105, then did $108, then $112) by adding different zones. At $90, I had both North & South strip included in my search Summary of costs: Room: $112/nt x 4 nights = $448.00 Taxes & Fees: $69.48 Total Charges*: $517.48 Thanks, betterbidding!! For future reference, is there an ideal time to book hotels (e.g., barring any big events, 6 weeks out, more, less)? Does day/time of booking matter (I know flights tend to be less expensive Tues-Thurs)? I am pretty new to this site, so I'm guessing these questions are answered elsewhere - if someone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. ETA: I think I just found the FAQ section. I'm off to look for answers to my questions there. :)
  2. It was not my intent to ask for help with my own stay. I was trying to help with OP's question and just provided info about my own search as a baseline for where I was coming from with information.
  3. I think I am looking at the same hotel for a trip May 5-May 9. Price is $130/nt for those dates. Will keep you posted if I find out anything, and would love to hear what others think. About the Suite question, isn't it possible that Hotwire didn't put every single icon for amenities to obscure the hotel? I thought I had read that somewhere before. FWIW, when I search my own travel dates on Expedia, the Venetian comes up as saying it doesn't have any rooms available. That would make me rule the Venetian out as a possibility (though if memory serves me, I feel like there has been a discrepancy where one site didn't have rooms at one hotel but another site did). Just a thought.
  4. In general, the prices I found during my limited searching were not any better than Orbitz, Hotels.com, or other sites. I was looking at 3 star hotels, and the one exception to the pricing was a 5 star hotel, which was a better deal. Too bad that I couldn't snag something on the lower end for less.
  5. I'm new here, and I was reading this thread last night. I was able to look up all the hotels using the link you originally posted. I would click on "Book it" to go to the page where it had the hotel id. A few times, it went to the booking page with the hotel id but immediately jumped to a page requesting traveler info. In those cases, I just went back and clicked again, being ready to view the hotel ID should it jump to the other page again. This is an awesome trick! Thanks for finding and sharing it, Beav!
