  1. Thanks! And of course I used the PRICELINE link on the Betterbidding site :)
  2. Had been bidding daily for a few days and was up to $50 with no luck. Got coupon for $10 added to bid per room per night. Bid $48 ($58 with added $10) and got turned down. Added Clearfield and bid $54 ($64 with added $10) and got the Fairfield inn and Suites. It's the night before Schreyer Honors College move-in day so I did not expect to get a room so cheaply. Very happy! :)
  3. I bid $30 then $35 by adding Clearfield (doesn't have 2.5* property)and was rejected. The next day I bid $38 and $40 and got rejected again. Today I got an email from Priceline with $7 per night coupon. I used the $7 per night coupon, so my $35 bid was actually $42 and I got the Springhill Suites. Very happy!
  4. Chose starting price according to what I paid last year when I bid for same (2.5* State College North). Got it on first try :)
  5. Bid over a few days. Wasn't getting anywhere with my bidding for 3 or more *s, so I started on 2.5* at $40 and got it right away. I'm not sure if I could have gotten it for less, but the total price is $54.11, which is well below the actual price so I'm content!
  6. Bid over 2 days, rebidding by adding I-20, Airport, Fort Jackson and Lexington areas (since they don't have 3* hotels). Started and $40 and rebidding in increments of $2. Total after taxes is $71.82.....Happy!
  7. Just got the Bethesda Hyatt Regency for $55 plus $14.90 tax, total $69.90 for one night 8/19/11. I got it on my first bid so I'm thinking I could have gotten it for less, but since it's for tomorrow, I assumed it would take a couple of bids and tried to start at a realistic bid. Tripadvisor reviews for this hotel are not great. Hope it will work out. Does anyone have any cheap parking suggestions?
  8. Tried for Columbus University Area 2* yesterday at $46 but didn't get it. Based on your forums, it looked like getting a 4* in Downtown area was more likely so I bid 4*, Downtown and got it. I had just gotten an email from Priceline giving me $5 to add to my bid so, my bid of $42 was actually $47. My total cost was $42 + $15.26 taxes and fees for a grand total of $57.26. Very happy!! :)
  9. Started at $40, got it for $44. 11.48 in taxes brought the price up to $55.48. I've paid $119 for this same room many times before through "regular bookings". I'm posting after the fact, but I think it was State College North. We got a room with 2 double (queen?) beds and a pull out couch. Breakfast was included and delicious!
  10. Visiting PITT and tried for University Center (yes, I used the PRICELINE link on this website :) ). Started at $50 for a 3* a few days ago, adding Downtown (3,4,5*) and raising by $2 at a time. Today I got to $60 for University Center and was denied. Added $2 and Downtown and got the Omni William Penn for $62! With $16.42 in Taxes and fees, I payed $78.42. Checked a few hotel websites and all list it for $259 on that day so I'm very happy with this deal!! It's my first "win post" on better bidding. Now that I've figured out how to post, I'll post all my wins in the future.
  11. My account is validated. I'm trying to post a priceline win, but only some areas have the "new topic" button. For example, I can hit "new topic" under "how does this board work" but not under an "madrid". I'm sure I'm doing something silly incorrectly, but I don't know what it is..........
