  1. Not sure if you've been able to find anything, but here is a decent back-up reservation for 10/23 - 10/25. Hampton Inn Boston/Cambridge has Double Queen rooms for $205 which can hold 4 people. The hotel has good reviews, and is only about 2 blocks from the Lechmere subway station to take you into downtown Boston.
  2. Amerisuites?? For Medford, there aren't any rebid areas as the area only goes up to 2.5*, so you would need to wait 24 hours to try your bid again if your bid is unsuccessful. If this isn't a problem, I'd recommend the following (using the PRICELINE link found above):Today: 2.5* Somerville-Medford $65 After 24 hours: 2.5* Somerville-Medford $75 Let us know how this works, and we'll further advise if necessary.
  3. Please post that info (hotel, dates, price, any bids before the acceptance) in the CALIFORNIA Priceline section, as people won't know to look in here for that info. Then we'll try to assist you with your concern. :)
  4. With the laundry, it could be the La Quinta Inn & Suites - Somerville. Also in that area is a Holiday Inn and Amerisuites. If you are looking to go into Boston, you can likely do better in the city on Priceline. Otherwise, you can likely get this property for less on Priceline.
  5. Downgrade -- info matched Packages section: Boston (Quincy Market - Financial District) 3.5* Millenium Bostonian (previously 4*) Amenities: Restaurant, Fitness
  6. Your next move depends on what you want to do. 1) You could book one of the prepaid EasyClickTravel hotels, which is cancellable up to 72 hours before check-in, and keep trying Priceline every 3-6 days with your current max and area. 2) You could expand your area to include Downtown, which isn't a bad area to stay for a Sox game. It's a short cab or subway ride from Fenway. 3) Or you could raise your bid by $5-15, which is something you weren't looking to do, but may give you success in the Copley area. However, with high rack rates, I still doubt this range will be successful.
  7. Read this: Priceline Bidding tips for Non-U.S. Citizens Then try posting here: NJ - Priceline
  8. I'll jump in now that you've picked your area and max bid. Sticking with the Copley area in another 24 hours: Select 4* Copley... Bid $101 if rejected add re-bid zone1... Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone2... Bid $115, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 4* Copley and re-bid zone3... Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone1... Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone2... Bid $130.
  9. Boston is the walking city, so many T stops are good for the tourist areas. Someone else found this goole map w/ stops listed: http://www.thrall.net/maps/mbta.html Here's a quick list: Boston Common - Boylston or Park St Station [both America's oldest subway stations] Downtown Crossing Stores - Downtown Crossing Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market - Gov't Center or State St Fenway Park - Kenmore or Fenway Beacon Hill - Charles/MGH or Park St North End - Haymarket or North Station
  10. That is correct. The only Sheraton in the city is in the Copley zone.
  11. Welcome! If you haven't already, you'll want to take a look through our thread on splitting a priceline bid.
  12. Congrats on your wins. The Sheraton is in a good location, attached to the Prudential Center with shopping and dining. It's hard to get a win in this area under $80, so $100 isn't too bad. Also, I'm seeing a hole in your dates for 5/27. Was this intentional, or was there a typo with one of your stays?
  13. $350 total or $350 per night? Hotwire currently is showing 4* over $200 per night, which would make it difficult to get 2 rooms for both nights under $350 total. Yes, it is serviced by the Silver Line
  14. If you are looking to do 2 or 3 days worth of sightseeing in Boston, you'd be better off staying in one hotel for both nights. Rates are slightly higher for these dates and Hotwire currently doesn't have any spectacular deals. How much are you looking to spend? I'll see if there is anything that would be good as a back-up reservation.
  15. Unless it is a special on their website, you will likely need to present a coupon.
  16. Hotwire currently has a 3* QM/FD for $121/night. Working with that in mind, give the following a try: Select 3* Downtown-Charlestown... Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone 3... Bid $85, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Copley... Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone 3... Bid $85, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 3* Downtown-Charlestown and Copley... Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone 3... Bid $110.
  17. Just to add, the previous win was after a counteroffer, so I would recommend starting lower and working up to (or slightly over) your maximum.
  18. You will want to book the Beekman ASAP, as it may not be available to book closer to your dates. It is only a mile away from the Grand Hyatt and you can cancel up to 72 hours before check-in.Second, you should check the rates to see how much you will need to bid for a star level. The rates at the Grand Hyatt are fairly high, so you won't be staying there under $200 for the remainder of your stay. Room Type: Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Guestroom 359.00 359.00 359.00 239.00
  19. At this point in time, you'll be paying a premium to stay in the same hotel for the entire stay. You may want to consider splitting your dates to stay within your budget. Hotwire currently has: May 7 - 9 4* Midtown Central (Restaurant, Fitness, Business) $150 You could try for this on Priceline by bidding $125-145 for 4* MTW. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ May 9 - 13 The Beekman tower is available for $188. You'll have a 1 bedroom suite with a kitchen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hotwire currently has: May 13 - 14 3* Times Square - Customer Favorite (Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business) $187
  20. Boston has 3 areas which do not have 4* hotels. These are your rebid areas. If you have any questions on how to find them read priceline re-bidding explained, or ask us before bidding. Select 4* Downtown-Charlestown... Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone 3... Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 4* Copley... Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone 3... Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 4* Downtown-Charlestown and Copley... Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone 3... Bid $150. If this doesn't work, come back and we can give the 3* level a shot.
  21. Looking at availability, 4* hotels seem to be sold out for your date. Would you consider the 3* Holiday Inn Select from EasyClickTravel (I believe they call it a 3.5*) for $161 plus taxes? It's walkable to the Faneuil Hall/ Quincy Market area (with restaurants & bars). I'll provide a strategy for Priceline shortly... I have a few things to check before suggesting a strategy.
  22. I'm still not seeing a guarantee for their star levels. They will independently rate it using their system Check. Check. Compared other sites, check. Doesn't say matches. Just compared. Priceline's standards, not some other star rating system's standards. It's still not contradictory.
  23. That statement was not an attacking or sarcastic statement. If he had provided his friend a complete picture of the facts, they possibly would have came to a different conclusion. You are entering into a contract with priceline when bidding. They clearly do not guarantee that their star levels match other services.
  24. They do not guarantee that their star ratings match. If you would have continued searching their FAQ, you would have seen this:
