  1. Tried 4* and 3.5* as well at this price and didn't get it (got the counter offer of $72 for 4*).
  2. So this trip kind of went south. We went to check in Friday night a week ago and discovered that I had accidentally selected the wrong date when I did my bid. It was for the night before. So by the time we go there our reservation had been canceled. The hotel couldn't change it and when I called Priceline they couldn't change it either. So I ended up going back to Priceline and bidding on another room at the same hotel for that night for $55 and getting it. So we paid twice essentially. Any ideas of a way we could get reimbursed for the messed up night or at least a credit for a future reservation? I've used Priceline for years for all my hotels (with the exception of our honeymoon 4 years ago) and love it, but this kind of took the whole Priceline experience down a few notches. I know it's not their fault but it was kind of sad that neither place could help someone that just make a simple mistake (one that I've never done until now). It wasn't like they lost revenue as the hotel wasn't full either night. Thoughts or ideas? Thank you in advance. :)
  3. I actually did a bid for a 3.5 star and they gave us the 4 star Hyatt. Not sure how that worked. :) I probably should have tried a lower bid first... that was my first offer.
  4. Tried going after hotels above 3 stars in the area around the convention center with free parking at $55 for the same nights and wasn't getting anything. Decided to go with a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal.
  5. Tried 2.5 star Happy Valley for $35 and didn't get it. Added in the Metro Center at $40 and didn't get it. Started over at 3 star for $50 with Happy Valley and Metro Center and didn't get it. Was offered to raise my bid to $64 for a retry and turned that down. Added back in a 2.5 star and raised my bid to $55 and finally got the Holiday Inn North Phoenix.
  6. Got in first try. Probably should have done less. Nice property, good family value. Stayed here in May as well.
  7. I didn't bid it, just a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal... not sure if you guys like this kind of info.
  8. My uncle and parents both got rooms last night also for the same price.
  9. Needed a room for 5/18/12-5/20/12 (already posted in another thread ) Started in Bradenton with $50 and got a counter offer of $69. Decided to expand the area to Ellenton and increase to $55 but it still failed. :/ Went back in and put in Bradenton Beach and the options I got were back for Bradenton and Ellenton. Selected just Bradenton and put in a price for $69 and got Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Bradenton West. I needed another room for Saturday night 5/19/12-5/20/12 so I did another bid in Bradenton for $68 and got a room at the same place.
  10. Got this room and another room for Saturday night only for $69 and $68 respectivly. See my other Priceline Win.

  13. Tried it for 4* at $50 and didn't get it. Was offered to raise it for $60 but I decided to lower the star rating. I wanted to book in Tempe near where the conference is going on... but it was grayed out. :) Now my commute is going to be a half hour. :) Not sure I'm going to like this place considering the reviews (no free internet).
  14. I'm trying to book a room for tonight/this week in Tempe, AZ and it won't let me select that area. It's grayed out as is Tempe South. What's going on? It even does it for next week. :/
  15. Booked this just now... Just put this offer in as is and got it as is. Very happy!
  16. 3* Holiday Inn Visalia Airport $55 ... 1/23/11-1/25/11 First bid and got if for 2 rooms.
  17. First bid: check-in check-out areas selected minimum star level bid 01/22/2011 01/23/2011 Indio 3-Star $50 Second Bid: check-in check-out areas selected minimum star level bid 01/22/2011 01/23/2011 Palm Springs, Indio 3-Star $50
  18. Ok, this is what I did. I needed 3 rooms. 2 for 1 night (my wife and I and a room for her 2 sisters) and 1 room for 2 nights (my in-laws). 11/12-11/13 Bid $55 3.5* Phoenix Metrocenter and WON. 11/12-11/13 Bid $52 3.5* Phoenix Metrocenter and WON. 11/12-11/14 Bid $51 3.5* Phoenix Metrocenter and REJECTED. 11/12-11/14 Bid $52 3.5* Phoenix Metrocenter and Phoenix West and REJECTED. 11/12-11/14 Bid $55 3.5* Phoenix Metrocenter, Phoenix West and Phoenix Airport (PHX) and WON. The reason I booked them separate was because I was booking one room for my wife and I that I knew we could live with but my in-laws have never used Priceline so I didn't want to tie them in to a hotel until I knew what I was getting. So then I booked the 2 sisters room and then finally my in-laws room for the 2 nights (because they are staying later then us). After I did the first 2 Priceline said I couldn't book a 3rd itinerary because of security reasons. So I switched browsers, stayed logged out of my account and got my brothers CC to book the reservation. Kind of weird the price went back up. I guess it was for the 2 nights. Anyway I got it and am happy. As long as the hotel is good enough. :)
  19. Thanks for the info. :) I guess I was speculating on getting the Sheraton Crescent as that was the only 3.5 star listed on the Priceline list of hotels. I know that, it doesn't necessarily guarantee getting that one... but it's speculative. :) On the hotels in general, most of the time I've had a really good experience with Priceline. It was just when I started getting into higher star ratings the hotels seemed to be more run down then normal (or what you'd expect). I can't remember the specifics now (I'd have to go through me emails from 8 months ago) but it just seemed to be a trend. I hope I'm wrong. :o I'm going to see what I can get right now. :) Thank you for all your help! :D
  20. Hi all, I'm new here but have used PRICELINE a bit in the past. What do you think I should try to get this hotel or a 3.5 star in the Metrocenter area? In the past I've tried for really high star ratings and sometimes been disappointed. It seems sometimes that a high star hotel is actually kind of run down and old and I'm almost rather have a 3 or 2.5 star. Is this true? Any thoughts or advice would be great!
