  1. I went for the 5*, and got Trump as predicted. Well pleased with the price for our dates, and love the location. Sept 8-18 305 usd a night = 3050 taxes and fees = 589.10 5% off BB code = -152.50 TOTAL COST 3486.80 usd
  2. I'm ready to book today, and undecided between these two. Sept 8-18 First is a 5* deal on pricelline for usd305, choice of 3 hotels, probably get Trump 5% off with BB code Second is a Hotwire deal 4.5* mag mile/water tower for usd182 Amenities Fitness centerGolf nearbyIndoor pool(s)Internet accessPet friendlyPool(s)Restaurant(s)Smoke-free rooms Accessibility The golf nearby is throwing me, as I cannot see this on hotel descriptions. Any idea? Thankyou It says the last person got the Sofitel, but I find that very strange as the Sofitel doesn't have an indoor pool!? Last time we stayed at Londonhouse, which we loved, but it is too pricy this trip
  3. I.m really so sorry I forgot to come back and close this thread. We went for the one that was The London House, and loved it. The hotel was great and it was just in the best location. I couldn't have wished for a better location. Thankyou
  4. Thankyou.. People say the rooms in Viceroy are very small. I'll maybe take another look at that Hilton.. I;ll get a decision made very soon.
  5. Thankyou so much, very informative. The Londonhouse I'm not sure about; I'm not a lover of Hilton hotels The Godfrey, now that bar sure is a downside, and 10 nights, mmmm The W, well I quite like SPG hotels but note what you say about location. Should I hold off and see what else comes up, as I know the offers change? Or perhaps have another look at PRICELINE.....
  6. I note you are familiar with Chicago. This is my first visit to the city, so would appreciate any help. I am ready to book. Dates are July 25th - August 4th I have read as much as I can but unsure exactly which area would suit. We are not young, but can walk for miles, and love eating and drinking. A walkable area. Would like to keep the cost to under 2000 usd. Reading all the reviews I think I would prefer to go for 4.5 star. Hotwire appears to be cheaper than Priceline. What is jumping out at me at the moment is River North 4.5 which will be The James/Godfrey/Palomar/Conrad All seem decent @160 or Mag Mile/Water Tower 4.5 guaranteed chain hotel @ 169 Am I looking at the right areas? Expert advice gratefully accepted
  7. Well it came back on for me today. so i booked it, and it is the Hilton Waldorf. Location is where I wanted, so I am happy with the price. Booked through the PRICELINE EXPRESS link on this site so also got the 5% discount so a win win today. Amenities listed were Free Interne tBed Choice Business Center Fitness Center Non Smoking Restaurant Swimming Pool
  8. When I click on that link I only see the new one at 244$, no pool, pet friendly. Maybe as I am in UK I am seeing different! Modern technology!
  9. Yeah even clicking on there says not available. What i am getting now is one at 244$, pet friendly this time so not the same one, possible Le Meridien?
  10. Looking on Priceline for a 4 night stay 27th September- 1st October. There is a 5* for £176 with the following amenities Free InternetBed ChoiceBusiness CenterFitness Center Non SmokingRestaurantSwimming Pool I thought perhaps the Waldorf Hilton? Seems like a good price wherever! Thankyou
  11. I emailed Hotwire about my reservation stating the rooms have safes but they chose not to answer the question, just giving me a load of waffle if I have a problem again.
  12. I did find on checking in we would get the worst rooms in the hotel through Hotwire! First we got an adjoining room which we refused so we then got a room next to the icemachine, cleaner's closet and cleaner's lifts, which made our room vibrate day and night! Apparently this is all we deserved for booking through Hotwire. Never had that problem with the Westin Oaks and won it many times.
  13. We ended up booking our favourite hotel here, Le Marais
  14. We booked The Madison on this trip. Wasn't worth it. wish I'd taken a chance
  15. My first ever Hotwire disappointment. We paid for 4 nights here but could not even stay for one. What a dump, it is like a cheap motel. Our reservation quite clearly states under "rooms" "safes". There is no room safe and it is an extremely unsafe hotel to stay in. Metal strips are being put on the doors to prevent further breakins and we were told quite clearly not to leave a room key in room as it could be used to steal our car. And this was something we had to pay for as an extra! There is no security here at all. And if "people" know there are no room safes well....... As we were travelling and shopping we could not take the chance of leaving our stuff in this horrible smelly room. I have never been in such a hovel in my lifetime of travelling. Please be very careful of taking a chance on this hotel!
  16. No 4 stars coming up on Hot.wire deals at the moment so I will need to keep looking
  17. i usually go for the 4 star but none were available due to the start of OTC . i should have booked in December when I booked the other dates but I thought I would leave it until i got back from holiday. I live and learn. Even the Memphis ones I looked at then have gone up in price so I will be booking that very soon, probably this weekend. Nola I am still undecided what to go for. Will update my threads as soon as.
  18. 19. Pet friendly Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Tennis nearby Accessibility Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower Sorry thought I had already done this
