  1. With tax & service charge it came to $99.59 total. The hotel is located in a good spot for me to access the entertainment and dining options that I like. It's my first time there, so we will see if it looks as good in person as it does on the website. 2. Started looking downtown for $56 at 3.5 Stars hoping to get the Sheraton. Got rejected. Expanded to the West - Middleton area and it was immediately accepted. There are lots of new hotels over there. Maybe that's why. I've stayed at this Holiday Inn before. Not one of the new ones, but it's nice, clean and the people have been friendly. It's also close to shopping areas. The restaurant wasn't very good last time. But I see they have a different restaurant now, so maybe this one will be better. All in all, I'm happy with the deal. It was $56 + 13.79 (fees) = 69.79 total. --
  3. Yesterday I tried a $50 bid. Today I tried $65 & got this deal right away using the PRICELINE link from this BetterBidding site. Maybe I should have tried smaller increments, but I was short on time. PRICELINE says that I am saving 70%. I have stayed at this Hilton before. It's a nice hotel. The staff is a bit impersonal, but it's right in the middle of everything. So I'm happy with it :-)
  4. Placed the $42 bid for a 3* hotel in the medical center area. They gave me this Crowne Plaza and told me it was an upgrade to 3.5*. Well there's a surprise! The name says it's in the River Oaks area, but it looks more like the Upper Kirby area to me. In any event, it really isn't in the area of the other Med Center/Reliant hotels I have stayed at AND it looks like they don't even have a shuttle to the medical center. The reviews on yelp aren't too favorable, but I guess we'll see... **Please note the change in star level when you are bidding in an area that might include this hotel. Apparently, it used to be listed as a 3*
  5. I guess it could be some of the other hotels in the area, but this SOUNDS like the Park Inn Hotel which I got in mid-December on PRICELINE for $38. The rooms sort of felt like motel rooms. The restaurant was very mediocre. The free breakfast consisted of tepid milk & cereal, an assortment of pastries and some fruit. If we wanted hot items, we'd have to pay. The bartender was SUPER friendly & the bar was really comfy for watching the game or just chatting w/other guests. I felt like the hotel was mostly geared toward people who have been delayed on their flights. If this is the hotel you get, do NOT walk around in this neighborhood. Get a cab or take the free shuttle. This Greenspoint area is known by some locals as the "GunsPoint" area because of the crime issues- ESP. against tourists/hotel guests. -Claire
  6. I was looking for a decent place to stay 12/22 through Christmas day. So I started bidding last week with a bid of $42 for a 4* hotel in either Galleria or Reliant Park - Med Center. Today I tried the same price for a 3*, but only in Galleria. I thought I might get the Aloft for that price (because I have gotten them several times previously for around that price). But the system immediately accepted for the Hotel Indigo. Looks like a unique hotel from their website- kind of a beach theme. Hope I like it as much as the Aloft. I see priceline is offering this hotel for only $76, so I don't feel like I got the best possible deal. I think I should have bid a bit lower. Each time I bid used the PRICELINE link from this site (which I have bookmarked). I am very grateful to have this site 'cause I learn a lot from the experiences of others. Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $42.00 Subtotal: $126.00 Taxes & Fees: $29.73 Total Charges*: $155.73 ----
  7. I used the PRICELINE link here at betterbidding.com to start looking for a 3.5 star hotel. Got too pricey & was looking at areas I wasn't crazy about. So I backed out of the site completely and re-entered at a lower star rating of 3* & with a bid of $38 for this airport area ONLY (which was my preferred location.) I was booked immediately at this hotel. They used to have a Park Inn in Wisconsin & it was alright. Hoping this one will be as good. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $38.00 Subtotal: $76.00 Taxes & Fees: $20.54 Total Charges*: $96.54 -JustClaire
  8. I've stayed here before. The hotel is HUGE & a bit of a maze, but clean & nice.
  9. $40 per night plus $21.28 in fees = $101.28 This was the first bid I placed for this stay. It was based on the information I found on this forum. Thanks!
