  1. Parking is free, but they do have a problem with people double parking (taking two spaces). They basically share parking with the neighboring Staybridge Suites. Sometimes you will be doing a long walk, depending on where you park. The rooms DO have a fridge.
  2. The Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort is not a bad property, but IMHO, a little overrated at 3*. Per Priceline, 3* is supposed to include premium channels on the in-room TV. There are no premium channels. FWIW, the property DOES NOT even have The Disney Channel. Weird for Anaheim. The hotel claims to have a business center, but it's just an overpriced kiosk in the lobby. The free Internet is extremely slow. The restaurant is open only for breakfast and dinner, not lunch. Food is alright. Room was OK. Comfy pillows and mattress. They gave me a substandard room at first, but after I complained, they moved me. First room was across from elevators and despite being non-smoking, it reeked of smoke. Second room smelled a little musty, but not too horrific. The AC was not the best. It's a window/wall unit, controlled by a thermostat. Kinda noisy and not the most effective. The staff is somewhat pleasant. Just insist that being a Priceline guest should not mean getting a lesser room. Be pushy enough. FWIW, hotel gave me a one-night's refund, but I have to wait for Priceline to issue it back to me. Word of warning, hotel is tricky to get to/from. It's on a one-way frontage road. You have to access it from Katella and that is it. My advice, if driving to the parks, use the Toy Story lot on Harbor. You can turn right from the hotel onto Manchester, right onto Orangewood, right onto Harbor. When you leave the lot, right onto Harbor, right onto Katella, right onto Manchester. The Mickey & Friends lot is easy to reach, but you have to do some double backing and such to get back onto Katella.
  3. The San Diego Trolley is one of the best transit systems of its kind in the country. The thing pretty much gets you just about anywhere and is pretty affordable. I have used it several times.
  4. That's what I'm talking about ... you get a free hot breakfast, with cooked to order stuff PLUS the manager's reception with appetizers and drinks in the evening. Nice!!!!
  5. Sheraton Park is the old Inn At The Park, which like the Disneyland Hotel, also was owned by Jack Wrather. It once was even considered for a monorail stop. I would consider it close enough to Disneyland Resort. It is a bit closer than the Anaheim Marriott and probably about the same as the Hilton. The other 3.5 star, Red Lion, is across the road. Would have preferred this one for my bid, but was told by Sheraton Park that they no longer accept Priceline bids. Interesting, unless you got the other Sheraton (the medieval looking one), which I believe also is 3.5 star -- but is farther away.
  6. No problem. Priceline did cancel the reservation, at the mutual request of the hotel and myself. They were unable to do the price match. Hotel did offer me $80/night for a King Premium Disney View Room w/ Breakfast and Parking included. So, that might be an option to consider, though I have read the hotel still is under renovation.
  7. Will do that. Apparently the hotel has agreed to cancel and refund the Priceline reservation, enabling me to snag the better deal, so we shall see. For the same $70, LMT has a deal at Hilton. But, Hotel is offering me directly for only $80 a Premium King, w/ Daily hot Breakfast and Parking included. Again, we shall see. True, it's hard to say I was ripped off, but I didn't necessarily get substantial savings as I have in the past through Priceline. Hotel's own Web site lists $84.96 for the same room -- so a savings of only $14.96 ... only about 17 percent off. So, eh, what can you say? Certainly will keep the board posted on anything that changes with my reservation, rate, etc.
  8. Very cool. Found out that I got ripped off by PRICELINE. Got Red Lion Hotel for $70 night 8/25-29 ($60+$10 Bonus Cash) Available through LastMinuteTravel.com for $57.92/night. Grrrr ... beginning to really hate PRICELINE. For the $70/night, could have landed the Anaheim Hilton. Basically working now with PRICELINE, Red Lion Corp. and the property itself to get a partial refund. Plus, I should be getting $25 bonus cash too, based on the lowest rates. At least I hope.
