And I used the Hot.wire and PRICELINE links for my searches, as I was looking at Hotwire as well. Thank you agian Better Bidding!

Free breakfast Free Internet Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Self-service laundry Internet access Golf nearby Aaron, I had the South facing room when I stayed here several years ago, on one of the higher floors. Clear day, great view of lake and Chicago skyline. We spent some time enjoying a beer or two looking out the window before going to what I think was an Irish Pub right across the street on the corner. Great food. Thanks again Better Bidding!!!
  5. Been awhile since I was here. I booked this for my son with his info using the HOTWIRE link from this site. I was going to try Priceline, but they have the 21 and over policy which may or may not be enforced, so I did not want to risk it. He is 20, and the hotel does have an 18 and over check-in policy so all is well. He is travelling to the area for job interviews. Amenities Fitness center Free Internet Free breakfast Free parking Self-service laundry Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel I stayed here once before several years ago. Nice area, great pub/grill across the street. Went to look at this again after I booked. price went up to $117.00. Thank you again Better Bidding!!!

  10. I was very confident this hotel was not the Holiday Inn, or I wouldn't have bid on it. The TripAdvisor rating for this property was 4/5, and the Holiday Inn is 3/5. I am familiar with this area. I stayed at what I believe was a Howard Johnson about 7 or 8 years ago just a couple blocks away from the Doubletree. Plenty of options for dining.

I used the HOTWIRE link for searching and booking. Thanks once again BetterBidding!!!
  12. There is not a "see all" at the end of the amenities. When I click on the see all details and then click see all amenities, these are the only three listed. And it is listed at $78.00, not $81.00 as I put in the subject line.
  13. Hmmm - details say it's recommended in 95% of HOTWIRE reviews. I've been doing some searching and can't quite put an educated guess on it. With a 95% review, I can't believe it would be the Best Western in Morton Grove, but I could be wrong. Need 2 rooms for 4 adults. Amenities Listed: High-Speed Internet Access Free Breakfast Free Internet
  14. The first bid was $50.00 for a 3.5*, then added $3.00 to bid and added 3* option. I used the PRICELINE link, as always. Thank you Better Bidding!
  15. Hello Aaron! My first trip to Madison a couple of years ago was the same Saturday as a Badger's home game. My friend who has been going up there for years talked me into the Super 8 in the NE area as it was the cheapest he could find. That is when I got intrigued about HOTWIRE and PRICELINE and typed in a question about how to bid on those sites and found betterbidding.com. I've been planning our trips ever since! We usually like to stay in the Capitol/Downtown/University area. Been to the Sheraton a few times, and the Hilton Monona Terrace once. These work out good for us. The hotel you suggested appears to be the Grandstay. We are planning on bringing bikes for the day, and it is a long ride through a main route with heavy traffic from the NE area. From the Quality we'll spend less time on main routes until we access a bike path. That is a consideration. We'll also be riding back to the hotel and taking a cab ride down and to State Street and back for the evening. We're going to doing some "Spotted Cow Tipping." Your suggestion did get me thinking about other areas, mainly the SE. Thank you for that, it doesn't hurt to explore things outside your normal routine. I checked those and there were not any decent rates on HOTWIRE. I already used the PRICELINE link to bid for the 3/3.5 star hotels in the area. Bids have been rejected for $55 and $60. Since we usually get the Sheraton, there are a couple of other things that are attractive about the Quality Inn & Suites. Complimentary breakfast and evening complimentary cocktails. Also, the Fitchburg Great Dane Brew Pub is right next door!!! I'm not sure what I'm going to do at this point. I may just bid on PRICELINE, I may go through HOTWIRE for the Quality Inn. One thing I do have to say about the Sheraton, those beds are really comfortable! Thanks for the suggestion, and thanks for all you do here. I'll keep this thread updated with my progress
  16. Yes, that is the Quality Inn I am referring to. Some sites list it as a Madison address, some as a Fitchburg address, such as the Taxi Fare Calculator site. I'll keep you posted, and will use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board when I bid/purchase. Thank You!
  17. Help ID 2.5* Madison State Capitol - Univ. Area Hotel 8/11 - 8/12 There are not any 2.5* hotels listed in the Hotwire list of hotels for this area. 2.5-star Hotel in State Capitol - Univ. Area - Central Madison This Hotel features the following amenities: Indoor pool(s), Smoke Free Rooms, High-Speed Internet Access, Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet Possibly Quality Inn & Suites Fitchburg? I think this hotel would be right within the southern edge of this area. Rate is $86.00 Thank You!
  18. Amenities for this listing are: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Thanks again!
  19. Just won this using the HOTWIRE link from this website. First and foremost, thanks again to all that maintain this site and for the information provided here. I was actually hoping for the Hilton, which is just off the Capitol area. Much better location as for what we will be doing and where we are going. That being said, I've stayed at the Sheraton before and it's a nice hotel as well. Beds and pillows are comfortable, and they offer a free shuttle service until 10:00 or so. If you are out late, it's a small fee for a taxi from the State Street/Capitol area back to the Sheraton. If this is the only cab ride you take, it would offset the parking fee you would have had at the Hilton. One thing that should be noted regarding the free shuttle - you may need to reserve this in advance. Last time we were there the shuttle was tied up with convention guests and wasn't available for two hours. It's free, so call ahead and there is no penalty if you decide not to use it at that time. Be courteous though and let them know you don't need it, just don't leave them hanging, and calling your room when you fail to show up. One thing about the 90% and 95% Hotwire guests recommended comments. 95% DOES NOT guarantee you the Hilton. I saw a 3 1/2 star last week for $54 or so dollars with 90% recommended. I read some other posts on here where one person went into exstensive detail about how a certain percentage meant it was probably a certain hotel. 90% being the Sheraton, 95% being the Hilton. I waited, saw the 95% today and thought I'd get the Hilton. I didn't. I'm not upset with the person that posted this. As I said the Sheraton is fine with me. Just wanted to point out that you shouldn't go by the % recommended. Going to see Colin Hay (Men At Work) at The Majestic. It will be a good time. Thanks again Better Bidding!
  20. I used the PRICELINE link for this site, of course! Started bidding a few days ago at $55, increased each day by $5, just won with an $80.00 bid a little while ago. Thanks again to all who administer this site.
  21. I used the PRICELINE link from this site, of course! The last time I stayed in Madison, I had the Sheraton. Nice Hotel, and by looking at past bids, I fully expected to have it again. It seems to be the default hotel the majority of the time. However, we will be staying at the Hilton Monona Terrace!!! We'll be attending the Ryan Bingahm concert a few blocks away and hanging out on and around State Street, so this was a welcome surprise. No need for cab service anywhere! I turns out there is some sort of hockey convention at the Alliant Energy Center which is very close to the Sheraton and another hotel. These hotels may already be very busy that weekend, so this may be why the Monona Terrace was where I won the bid. Started at $45, two days ago, went to $50 yesterday, and won with $55 just awhile ago. Thanks again to everyone who does research and maintains this site. Don't forget to use the PRICELINE link from this site. Will be researching a Milwaukee stay in April next!!!!
  22. Using the PRICELINE link from this site, I just booked the 3.5* Sheraton in Downtown Madison for $45.00 each room. Great info here. Explore, research, find a deal. Thank You!
