  1. This hotel, located adjacent to The Galleria Mall, is currently the only 3 1/2 star hotel listed on PRICELINE's website in Hoover. Therefore, I knew what hotel I was bidding on! Didn't have much time to rebid, so I entered the winning bid of $65.00 on first try!
  2. I bid on a 2 1/2* room on Priceline, but gave up when my max wasn't accepted. They don't offer 3* or above. I believe bid was rejected because of the popular "Spring Pilgrimage" which is happening in Natchez during the time period that I am requesting. I have booked a room at a nice Bed and Breakfast. Thanks for your help. By the way, I see that you are a Michigan fan and/or alumni....I was raised in Muskegon, Michigan....my father graduated from Michigan State (from Grand Haven), sister graduated from U of Mich.....I now live in Fairhope, Ala....Small world!
  3. O.K....I agree that this is a tough one to figure out! Thanks for trying anyway!
  4. April 6, 7 & 8th are the dates.....thanks
  5. 3* Natchez Hotel - Need help identifying on Hotwire. Only amenity listed: High Speed Internet Access, priced at $83.00. Thanks
  6. Got this room for $55 on PRICELINE on first bid. Probably could have gotten for slightly less, but had no time and did not want to take a chance. Can't say enough good about this Embassy. Everything wonderful beginning with the check-in. Great service in all areas. Honored my request for King Suite, higher floor in quiet area. This two room suite was very roomy & well appointed with gourmet coffee, plush towels, wet bar area, quality furniture and amazingly comfortable mattress (not too soft or firm). The free made- to -order breakfast was great! Ordered Embassy's special omelette and oatmeal...to die for! Still here and don't want to leave!!! Last stay in Montgomery was in 2 1/2 * Wingate which was horrible! Honestly was more like a 1* except for the interior entry to rooms. Because of the bad Wingate experience, will NEVER again bid on a 2 1/2 star in Montgomery as long as it is "in the mix"!!!!!
  7. 5-5-11 3* Embassy Suites, at Convention Center, Montgomery, AL Bid $55 Priceline and won first try. Could possibly gotten at slightly less, but had no time/didn't want to take a chance. Magnificent property, free made -to- order breakfast, huge two rm. king suite, quality bed.
  8. 2 -1/2* Wingate by Wyndham, Montgomery, Alabama. 4-18-11 42.00. (first bid on 3* but got as high as $55 and gave up...then bid $35 on 2-1/2*..which was declined...rebid 24 hrs later...$42.00 and won!..would have bid $36 but had no time left before stay.
  9. I have tried for months to figure out how to post a win. I give up......WHERE is the message board? I recommend that you make it easier for new members to post. Please put it at the top of your priority list of "things to improve on"! On a more cheerful note: I appreciate the Calenday of Wins function! Thanks
  10. I recently won a 3.5 * room on Priceline at the Marriott Copley Square, Boston for $120.00 (I started bidding $85.00 and increased it by $10.00 each day until I won it!) My stay will be from 9-09 to 09-12-10. As far as I can see, the only other 3.5* Copley Hotel that is going on Priceline is the Sheraton. The reviews look good for both on several websites including Tripadvisor.com & Frommers.com. I tried bidding for a 4* starting out at 95.00 and quit at $165.00. Several Boston hotel reservation desks have told me that August and early September are busy times mainly because of incoming students w/family.
  11. Two weeks ago I bid on a 3.5 star hotel for 9-9-10 - 9-12-10 and got the Marriott - Copley Square for $120.00 ( I started out with $85.00 and continued to bid each day until I finally won it). It seems that the only other 3.5 that is winning bids in that area is the Sheraton Boston. I first tried for a 4* but quit after $165.00, so your budget of $125.00 will probably get you a 3.5 or less. I looked at the reviews for both the Marriott & Sheraton-Copley Square and the Sheraton on Tripadvisor.com-The Sheraton gets a little better reviews, although the Marriott seems pretty nice, too. Not sure how Priceline works regarding median pricing. Don't know when you are needing the room, but I was told by Marriott reservation desk that August & early Sept. are very busy because of incoming college students w/family staying.
